We are always turning everything upside down in Nigeria. Importing cows is not sustainable. I expect Akwa Ibom policy makers to do the following for sustainability,

- Sign a MOU with Mexico to develop the state dairy sector.
- Organise training for state farmers on artificial insemination program and dairy farming
- Get exotic cows semen from Mexico through the MOU
- Susbsidize the cost of the semen to dairy farmers accross the state
- Have a ten year program of eliminating local cows in the state through artificial insemination.

This is the blueprint that Kenya had with Holland for development of their dairy sector. Importing cows is just another hype that will die a natural death.

We need a sustainable program and importing cows is not sustainable.

Bros, In that same Uruan, a poultry/hatchery was recently constructed and "commissioned" by the Government...can you believe uptill this moment, no viable economic returns have been goten from the project??
The policy makers are just some power drunk old fools who do not think beyond their noses.
