On Nov 1, my status changed from application in progress (ip1) to we are processing your background check(ip2). Then yesterday it changed to Not applicable. What does this mean.

Its kind of weird to me because people normally go from ip2 to ppr and I have no idea why mine didn't go that route. Was expecting to get PPR today but its already end of the day and nothing showed up. Any thoughts?

Hi guys,

My application is currently in London VO. Recently they have been requesting ADRs for tax clearance certificate and visa refusal letters from a lot of people. I tried to be proactive and see if I can get tax clearance from my employer. They gave me a Lagos state Inland Revenue Service form to fill and said that I would need to be patient as it takes a long while to get. Employer told me they've tried to get for some other staff members since March and most of them still haven't got theirs.

Also, I do not have any of my visa refusal letters any more as I trashed them and most of visa denials are from 6-12yrs ago. Now I would like to find out how I can navigate these steep waters given that I don't have tax clearance certificate and visa refusal letters. I did submit my salary account statement and payslips which shows my PAYE tax for each month back in June when I submitted my application.

I would also like to know if there's anyone who was asked for tax clearance certificate and visa refusal letters ADR and wasn't able to get them and if CIC still gave PPR.

Was schedule A uploaded upfront for those refusals? Call them as @feygbe advised or raise a CSE and ask for app status.

I didn't upload schedule A upfront. If they required it from me they should have requested it from me right?

Hello. What is your stream pls? Also did you have any ADR for a police report?

I had ADR for FBI PCC and I was at IP1 for 34 days. I called and I was told my application was at Ottawa, I asked about criminality and I was told it was not yet done. Seemed strange to me as well. This was after I had uploaded the FBI PCC almost 3 weeks after the ADR.

Suddenly, I moved to IP2 without the NA2 phase. I never called back to ask if it has been done.

My stream is FSW and I did not get any ADR for police report. My status says no additional documents needed. What is your Visa Office? mine is London VO

Did you confirm that your file has been transferred to LVO or that was just an assumption?

I would suggest you send a mail or raise a CSE to inquire about the status of your application in the below order:

Medical, Eligibility, Criminality and Security.

Yes I did confirm it and I can see the file transfer date on my gcms note

hey guys. My AOR is june 10 and I have been on IP1 since july 7. I got my gcms note on september 28 and i noticed my criminality check hadn't been done. Am in the London VO whatsapp chat group and everyone there is telling me that is really weird and that my criminality should have been done in CIO. Every other person in my chat group who posted snippets of the gcms note showed that their criminality was done at CIO yet mine is not the case. Most people in my AOR are either in NA or IP2 status and yet am still in IP1. It really baffles me. My due date was October 6 and till today i haven't seen any updates.

Just wanted to find out if anyone is in a similar place as me or if anyone has had their they criminality done in their VO rather than CIO or better yet just help make sense of my situation. Thanks

please can someone kindly help me with my question above?

Criminality check is also done in IP1. If you submitted multiple PCCs it could be prolonged. Other background checks are also done here. You can order your GCMS notes for a better update

Where do I order this GCMS notes?

I really am starting to think no one is working on my application. I have been on IP1 since july 7. They said IP1 is where they do completeness check. I mean how long does is take to determine if someone submitted all the required documents which I did of course. Been on IP1 for a month and haven't gotten any status update since then and this is really bothering me.

Hi guys,
I have noticed that the money I have in the POF i submitted in my application is depreciating due to the recent spike in exchange rate. When i submitted my application in June , I had like CAD$16,600 and today with the new exchange rate its like $13,700 and its getting ever so close to that CAD$12,300 for a single applicant. This is really annoying me because all through last year i was monitoring the exchange rate for canadian dollar and it was always around 230-240 dolls even when i submitted my application is was like 237 and now all of a suddent today it rose to 289. I don't even understand why it is rising given that canadian dollar is not in demand in Nigeria like it is with the U.S dollar.

Given all this, is it possible for me to submit an extra POF document to supplement the one I previously submitted? My application status is currently IP1 and i don't want my funds to always be in a situation where it is always sufficient. I am just praying the canadian dollar never reaches the rates of the U.S dollar levels. As long as the rates are under 300, i'll be fine.

Thanks for your anticipated assistance

guys any answers to the above?

What V.O was your application processed at? Also, is there anyone here whose AOR is around June and their application is being processed at CIO? Just wondering why mine is so slow

In the schedule A form, they asked to give the number of years of school you successfully completed for each of the following levels of education namely elementary school, secondary/high school, university/college etc.

I attended a college from 2002 - 2004 and it was a 2yr programme but I dropped out and went to another college. Do I totally exclude this period from my total years of college education or do I count 2002-2003 as one year successfully completed and leave the remaining year out?

What i'm talking about is in section 7 of this form http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5669E.pdf

Can someone please help with my question above?

Hello Omesanni,
There is really nothing to worry about. NYSC can also be said to be government work. Especially since NYSC is an organization created by the government.

I understand how you feel we worry about the silliest things when our app is still in progress! I also went through the over worry phase, looking back at it now I see no reason why I should have been.

Some friends I know mentioned NySC as a government work and even included it as part of their work experience and are all PRs now.

In a nutshell, you will be fine. Absolutely nothing to worry about. You did nothing wrong nor did you give false information.

You are getting me wrong, I didn't put it as government work, I put it as employment. Just wanted to know if this is correct?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by omesanni: 10:32am On Jun 12, 2017
Hi,
Submitted by PR application with my documents on Saturday but there's something that is really disturbing me. In the personal history section, for the school where I taught during NYSC, I put the type of work as employment. I remember the very first time I filled out the form, I entered it as government but I think there were some questions that they asked that I thought really did not pertain to NYSC work and I couldn't really answer them and so I put it work type as employment. I can't really remember the questions now but if anyone could post a screenshot of them filling in NYSC as government work and all the follow up questions I will appreciate it.

I just want to find out if I have done the wrong thing because I don't know if I have given false information.

I recently collected Police certificate from Alagabon and they gave me a certificate along with the form I filled which has all my finger prints and passport photo. I thought it was weird that they gave me the form.

Now I want to find out if I have to upload the certificate and the form with all my fingerprints(in the document checklist) because am confused as to why they'll give me form in addition to the certificate.

I have uploaded all my documents and am about to pay and this just crossed my mind and so i want to make sure am safe

Can someone else opine on the above question? Anyone who has gone thru this stage before, did you upload both the certificate and the form that all your finger prints?

Hi,
I am claiming points for my sister who resides in canada. One of the documents I have to provide is proof of relationship to my sister. Here's an excerpt from CIC website:

Proof of the relationship of the applicant or the accompanying spouse or common-law partner to the family member must also be provided (e.g., a birth certificate, an official document naming the applicant as a relative, a copy of the inside back cover of the relative’s passport showing the relative’s parents’ marriage

I plan on using a birth certificate but I want to know if the birth certificate supposed to be my sister's or do i have to also provide mine. I will appreciate to her from anyone who claimed points for a relative in canada

Hi,
Just woke up to see that the document checklist for me has being updated following the two day maintenance cic was doing. One new checklist for me is proof that my sister resides in canada and an example of the document to show is a copy of bank statement or utility bill showing the relative's address. Now previous to them updating the checklist, I tried collecting my sister's bank statement and she said that it has her old address and that she cannot give me because she doesn't want her sensitive information out there like that. She then gave me her cell phone bills which has her current address on it and a letter from her employer saying she's employed by the company and works out of their vancouver office.

Now, I don't know if I can use these two documents as my proof that she resides in canada given that its not one of the example documents stated in checklist. I also don't know if cell phone bills count as utility bills in canada because I know generally utility bills are normally gas and electric. I also tried to get gas or electric bill from her but she lives with a friend and the gas/electric bills as well as the lease are all in her friend's name since she's the renter of the house.

Am curious to know from anyone who has gone through this process and has a relative who is permanently residing in canada, what documents they sent as proof of their relative residing in canada and whether or not the documents i currently have for this is okay.
