PhysicsQED: I don't understand why people are making excuses for a criminal act that is so clearly undeserving of sympathy. When an even poorer person elsewhere has even less electricity than usual because of the actions of these thieves, I wonder if people will still be trying to defend them.
in asmuch i apreciate what you have said.
what might be a reasonable price to you and the PHCN might not be a reasonable price to other people with different earnings

Sky Blue: Stop peddling such utter tripe, this is a culture of indiscipline, period. There were different bands of charge rates presented to the public, and people were being charged according to there level of income, which I believe was estimated by how much power they consume. And based on the new rates, people seen as "poor" were actually meant to be paying LESS than what they used to pay for power before. So what are you talking about, or is there something I might be genuinely missing?

You can't be shouting that people's electricity run out and they are poor when they are trying to power a million and one appliances on standby in their homes. This should simply force people to be more energy conscious - something the rest of the world has already gotten used to a long time ago!

@op for crying out loud i hope you are earning above the minimum wage. A lot of people ar poor that to them electricity is very expensive. One thing is certain when a commodity is too expensive people will certainly cut conners to get it. How many of the consumers are earning above ten thousand per month what percentage of thier income will go to PHCN. The govt should have cosidered all these b4 imposing it on the people

You don't go into an untamed lion's cage and expect it to pose for you while you take pictures, so why would you expect anything close to civilized from these thugs? If they were civilized in the first place, they won't be thugs hanging off of a moving train.

So instead of asking Government to create awareness about your job, maybe you should first try to understand what it takes to do your job.
Imagine you are in Ibori's shoes stuck in a cold damp UK prison cell, isolated, disgraced with only regrets and awe on how you rose so quickly in power, fame and money only to end up where you are.

Well, the money is way gone by now and all your friends and political associates will not be able to help you out. Your wife has turned against you and is currently stuck in jail as well. Your kids have been withdrawn from the prestigious private british school, your mistress is out of jail but you know she will be rocking another c0rk, but what will top it up for me if I were Ibori will be this particular mistress, who you spent your last luxurious free-man life in dubai.
God life sucks balls. One minute you are having immunity, hoppin jets around the world, stacking dough and sippin the best life has to offer next thing you are turning down offers to share bunks and help pick up the soap.

Money and fame are not the key success to life but how we lead our lives.

justokey: In a series of declamations, Mr. Bakare asserted, “When the shoeless takes over, he does clueless things. When such men of low estate find themselves in power, terrible things begin to happen.” He added, “It is the timidity of the inferior that prods them to cover up. Deep rivers flow in majestic silence.”

Is Bakare saying that good things cannot come from poor or humble backgrounds?
in essence thier is no hope for the poor in his own defination of politics
