Some months ago, Nigerian doctors went on strike. What started as days of industrial action became weeks, then months. The masses were not happy. There were bitter complaints from every nook and cranny of the society about how insensitive, selfish, wicked and greedy Nigerian doctors are. It was as though medical practice in Nigeria was reserved for the 'meanies', seeing as everybody called the names with sweeping generalizations. Many said the doctors took an oath to protect lives and were not living up to it. Anyway, in the end, matters were apparently rectified and they resumed work. Today- some months after the NMA strike was called off- JOHESU is on strike. JOHESU is an association of every other health worker in the hospital, minus doctors. The strike has lasted for sometime now. The doctors have been attending to patients alone. There has been deafening silence on this matter. There is no public outrage or outcry. Nobody is telling them they're not living up to their oath. The interesting part is that the reasons for the strike of few months ago, are about the same reasons for the strike of today, yet, nobody is calling anybody greedy or insensitive or wicked. Yes, cos 1st and 2nd years' courses are relatively easier. The higher u go, the harder it becomes. So get all the A's u can get then so dat wen combined with the B's and C's u will get in final years, you can make 2:1 or 1st class. |

ohaleoghene:Fibroids can be found in any woman of reproductive age. But not all fibroids give symptoms. What u should do? Go and re do the scan, use an experienced radiologist. If comfirmed, ask your gynaecologist what u should do. But generally, it is not recommended to remove fibroids that are not causing symptoms. In that case, u live your normal life and watch the fibroids if they are growing and how fast. But u may wish to get married and bear children early, eg before ur 30s, to reduce the risks of fibroid-related infertility much later |

ohaleoghene:Sorry about that. Fibroid is not common in your age group, but it is not impossible. Have you seen another gynaecologist to get a second opinion/confirmation? Not all fibrods merit surgery especually in young ladies. Are your fibroids causin u probs such as heavy period or difficulty conceiving? If not, no need to panic |

abula112:Thanks  but note that the orifice refers to the urethra o, not vaggina. I used diameter in order to convey the message. The more technical version, is that the sphincter, or small muscles, around the urethral opening that makes us able to hold urine, is tighter in the young compared to the old, making the urine stream of the old weaker (just as in men too) than that of the young. To avoid the risks and embarassment of urine splashing about while peeing, the younger ladies usually squat to pee. |

Its a function of the diameter of the area from where the urine flows and the force and velocity of the urine flow. In older women, the diameter is larger, the force and velocity of urine flow is smaller, ensuring that the flow can just flow down gently under gravitational effect, without much scattering. However, when the young girls pee standing, the urine scatters because the diameter of the orifice is small, ensuring that the urine flow emerge with high force and velocity.  1 Like |

Sex with yous spouse is not a sin and should not come between u and ur faith. Pray for your sex to be blessed before, after the sex, thank the Lord for a successful sex and ask that the sex may achieve its desired intentions, if not immediate. I was going to do a thread like this today, as I went through a lot of old threads yesterday and nostalgia gripped me... Quality of interaction here has gone down so much. I prefer the old nairaland. If nairaland then was the way it is today, I wud have remained a guest. The insults and other practices now are so repulsive...as are the ethnic and partisan bigotry. Little or no brilliant discussions going on... Romance section is now hard to tell from jokes section... Politics is now APC/PDP section alone....except the enduring and generally mature Enugu thread and a few others A lot has changed, which is normal. Afterall nairaland was originally intended for Nigerians in Diaspora. Traffic-wise, it's good news. But quality wise, not so good. Many prominent old members are either relatively quiet these days or no more active....a generational shift. 7 Likes |
