Former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has called
for a complete overhaul of the security system. He said the
overhaul would help curb the spate of bombings in the
country.
Tinubu said: “Nigeria is faced with a challenge to its
sovereignty and national stability. This is a time that calls for
courageous leadership. Hard decisions must be taken to
overhaul our security system in concrete terms and above all
arrest the monumental failure of intelligence which is clearly
apparent”.
Tinubu added that beyond the timing of the bombings, which
are in bad taste, the unending bombings and prevalent
bomb-scares that now dominate the lives of Nigerians
suggests that there is something fundamentally wrong which
needs fixing. “Nigeria is ripe for a national conference. A
conversation that will have all stakeholders at the table
where we can discuss and if need be renegotiate the basis of
our union. As it now stands, the state of our union is
weak.The state of our union is under severe attack and we
need collective action to deal with the slide into anarchy.”
Tinubu, while expressing his condolences to those affected,
said he was willing to partner the Jonathan administration to
confront the danger that threatens to destroy the country.
“Before we are left with no country to call our own, we must
all speak up and act in the spirit of unity”’ Tinubu advised.

I believe this news is old one. Tinubu called for National conference long time ago but it was turned down by PDP. When PDP see the birth of APC,and the problem of G7,they have no choice but to go for national conference. I reasoned him with that the national conference is not genuine.

Mynd_44: When I come to NL and see things like Igbo and Yorubas fighting, I can't help but laugh my backside out. Not because the insults are funny (which they are) but the ignorance being displayed.

I grew up in different parts of Nigeria. I have lived in the north, south east, port-har-court, Lagos, Ibadan and Ekiti and I can say that I have not seen one case of tribalist until I got to NL.

The closest thing I have seen about tribal ish is when friends gather and mock each other's culture and tradition and no offence is meant. I have had Igbo neighbours and still do. But I have never seen them as different neither they see me like that.

I told a friend that the issue of tribalist is due to poverty and joblessness which is true. If you look at the Ladipo incidence some weeks back where people on NL were talking like the Igbos and Yorubas were killing one another. I went there with a friend and it was as peaceful as anything else with Igbo/Yoruba and everyone else was doing their business and making money.

When there is money to be made, Nigerian don't care where you are from. If you are Igbo but you have something anyone needs, they don't care but when one person is poor, he looks for who to blame for his woes and he creates enemies.

Go to the bars and clubs at night and see how people of different tribes are together drinking and spending cash while broke people and people who probably have not spent a day in Nigeria talk about a tribe anyhow.

I personally know a lady on NL who cannot point at her state on a map of Nigeria(she is yoruba) yet she is always insulting Igbos

There is no better way to solve the problems of this nation than to go our separate ways. I believe so much in my tribe that we will succeed on our own. Nigeria is beyond repair. All we need right now is that every region should stick to its region.

Blesyn014: The way it's been put into consideration in my church is the height. Once your name is not there, then be ready to be on your own in times of your need.
If the church wanna keep record of anything, it shouldn't be tithes rather, the welfare offerings given for it members upkeep (more understandable).

Help from church is not suppose to be tied to tithe payer. If that is the reason,it is wrong.

They do it in my church but I refused to register because I believe it is wrong. Why should they record tithes? Let God judge me if I fail to pay my tithe. I don't buy any excuse they might want to give.
