tobtap:It's a cargo airport and the first servicing hanger in Africa designed to conduct C tests on aircrafts in Africa thereby conserving Forex and earning revenue in foreign currency to the state |
seguno2:Funny that an omoluabi that you are doesn't realise that our democracy is just 18yrs old and hence the regeneration of Lagos is just 18years old. As an indigene of Lagos i can boldly tell you that though we aren't where we should be but we are extremely far from where we were 18yrs ago. All thanks to our ability to keep same set of people in power for those years Comparing Lagos to other 35states am sure you know that indeed there is a huge difference Don't even attempt talking about Lagos IGR it was just #600m in 1999, a person's ingenuity brought it to #30bn today. Yes we are not there yet but we are already far gone in that direction already and talking about rail line hope you know that by next year trains will start running from okoko to marina, across the lagoon? Its over 60% completed. Yes we aren't there yet but by 2018 Dec Lagos port which is the biggest in Africa will start operations which will completely overshadow the Apapa port. Let's appreciate steps in right direction a journey of a thousand miles always begin with a step. The Yorubas will say that a child that doesn't die will grow old, as long as the direction headed is right lets commend the effort. That is to me a typical example of an omoluabis behaviour Lastly let me comment on the traffic situation you spoke about. I remember in 2001 when i bought my first car i lived in Egbeda and worked in surulere. To get to my office at 8am i leave home latest 5:00 or else i will get late if i dare leave home at 6am i won't be in Bode Thomas surulere till 10am, a daily occurrence. Am currently working on a site in Ibeju lekki, through out this week when i leave home, same area as before, i leave home at 5:30 and in ibeju lekki at 7:30; not even surulere , now no matter the time surulere won't even take an hour, why? More roads, smother drive and more effective traffic control systems. Like i said we might not be there yet but we are far from our former location Cheers |
OZAOEKPE:Hatred has displaced sense in you. Apart from Apapa port, Lagos is currently developing another port in Epe which is the largest in Africa without FGs support, what are other coastal states doing? Your envy will consume you like cancer unless you purge yourself of this hatred you will remain the most backward in present and future Nigeria |
seguno2:For people with the level of hatred you people pocess development will remain elusive to you for a long time. No wonder that albinoish hunch back, Jewish wannabe Cownu can take all of you for a ride easily. Hatred has displaced sense in your mental makeup. Little wonder your lord and master referred to you guys as pigs and piglets |
gidgiddy:Good questions 1) Fear induced speeches that cause panic among the people though may not fill the legal description of terrorism, the effects are the same. No group with good intentions for it's people will subject them to such 2) How come they believe propagandists above their lawfully installed Govt? That's easy guess that was why their supreme leader, the gay stripper Jewish wannabe Cownu, described them as pigs and piglets because they are just impervious to reason |
Ojiofor:How can you reconcile an MKO Abiola sharing same chieftancy title with a Gani Adams even in death. It's a slap on that title |
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, to me, is the greatest Yoruba oba alive today. Greatest in terms of his intellectual capacity and his understanding of the responsibilities culture has placed on his divine shoulders. Although the vault of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuwade Okunade, bespoke on riches untold, Alaafin’s unspeakable wealth lies in his unequalled understanding of the Yoruba’s resplendent history, mores and culture. He exemplified his matchless repertoire of Yoruba history during the inauguration of the incumbent Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, as the Laminisa I, in 2008. During the ceremony, which held in Ede, Ooni Okunade missed the point when he told the audience that the new Timi wasn’t the first from the Laminisa ruling house to be installed as Timi. This position wasn’t, of course, in tandem with the reality presented by the Laminisa ruling house on the occasion. When it was the turn of the Alaafin to speak, he took the audience, which I was part of, down historical path, painting a vivid picture of how Ede was founded even as he traced, off the cuff, the names and dates of the installation of all the Timis of Ede. A resounding applause greeted his great insight. I have followed, at a distance, the life of the Alaafin. I know that the Iku Baba Yeye has not forgotten all he learnt about boxing, a sport he picked up as a youth – watching the online video of his pugilistic skills that went viral a few years ago. The paramount ruler is also a world-acclaimed dancer and drummer, too. Death pursued the Oodua Peoples Congress to my doorstep in Akure where I was a correspondent of PUNCH newspapers around 2000. It was Ogundamisi, Adam’s able lieutenant that lay ‘lifeless’ on the ground floor of the two-storey building that housed PUNCH newspapers’ outstation office at Adegbola Junction along the popular Oyemekun Road in Akure. I had looked at the almost lifeless and bloodied man on the floor and taken him for a vagrant, sidestepping him unto the stairway en route to the topmost floor, where my office was. I think I saw one or two other OPC members on the ground floor, battered and tattered. After I had worked for a while in the office on that particular Sunday morning, Ogundamisi, the bloodied man downstairs came knocking on my door. The sun ray must have woken him up. Being a Sunday, and for fear of attack, I always locked the iron burglarproof at the door. When I heard the knock, I went to the door where I saw Ogundamisi, (I’ve forgotten his first name now), laboring to breathe. He introduced himself in impeccable English, and that got me to open the burglarproof for him. He then related the story of how himself and Gani Adams in company with hundreds of OPC members – in a convoy of several vehicles – were attacked in Owo en route to Arigidi Akoko. Scores of OPC members were killed. The incident became the lead story of The PUNCH, the next day. The morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, could not take the dead as they were taken to other health facilities in the state. Particularly, Ogundamisi was deeply worried about the safety of Adams. He said all the OPC members in the convoy fled in different directions during the night attack. When PUNCH transferred me to Lagos in 2002, I followed the OPC in the media. I recall that during the actualization of the June 12 struggle, it was NADECO and not the OPC that mobilized the Yoruba, nay Nigerians, against the military dictatorship headed by General Sani Abacha. It wasn’t the OPC. Over the years, the OPC has grown from a money-for-security organization to becoming a monster in the South-West. A visit to police stations in any part of the South-West would reveal how mainly illiterate OPC members have been taking the law into their own hands, maiming and killing members of the society in the guise of providing security and settling dispute. What is chivalrous in an organization that collects money and extorts to provide service? What is noble in an organization whose members are noted for raping, robbery, killing and ritualism? Gani Adams, the headship of this the type of organisation has risen today to become the Aare Ona Kakanfo of the Yoruba. Yoruba ronu. When Nnamdi Kanu emerged as the new voice of Igbo leadership, I laughed and asked one of my friends, Joel Nwokeoma, ‘is this how low the Igbo nation has sunk’? Joel is having the last laugh now. Let’s wait and see who the Hausa/Fulani would throw up. I read someone saying that in ancient Oyo kingdom, the position of the Kakanfo is meant for miscreants. There is nothing farther from the truth than this. In the old Oyo Empire of the 17th and 18th centuries, the Kakanfo was the head of the Eso, who were, according to Wikipedia, ‘70 junior war chiefs nominated by the Oyo Mesi and confirmed by the Alaafin. The Kakanfo later rose to become the supreme military commander and was required to live in a frontier province to keep an eye on the enemy, and to keep him from usurping the government. Forces inside metropolitan Oyo were commanded by the Bashorun, who is a leading member of the Oyo Mesi’. Which war has Gani Adams fought on behalf of the Yoruba? I only remember Gani to have won for himself a multi-billion pipeline contract from the clueless Goodluck Jonathan government. I also remember Gani Adams unleashed terror on Nigerians in Lagos when the OPC marched for Jonathan during the countdown to the 2015 presidential election. I have four witnesses who lived in my Iyana Ipaja area, and who are respectable members of the society. Mr Ben Tomoloju (former Guardian Deputy Editor); Mr Paul Bassey (former Editor, Champion newspaper, former FIFA media consultant); the late Uncle Ben Bayo (former Creative Arts Editor, PUNCH) and a former colleague, Adekunle Salami (aka Slam) who lived in the Mulero axis of Iyana Ipaja in Lagos State. I mentioned these names to buttress the fact that Nigerians, generally, and not the OPC, fought the military junta. These people were in one way or the other involved/affected in the June 12 struggle and they were never OPC members. These people I mentioned can testify to the fact that the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos was the hottest frontline during the struggle to actualise June 12. I was one of the voluntary youth mobilizers in my area, and I could have been killed by a heavily armed soldier who pursued me into a church on Coker Street, Funlayo Bus Stop, if not for God using the fact that I know the terrain very well. People were shot before my very eyes at Iyana Ipaja during the struggle. I trekked from Mulero to Iyana Ipaja in company with thousands of youths every morning to keep a date with fate against the haters of democracy. I didn’t see any OPC mobilizer during those days. It is wrong to say that the OPC fought for the actualization of June 12. Nigerians rose against Abacha, not the OPC, please. The statures of the last two occupiers of the title, Chief Ladoke Akintola, and Chief MKO Abiola, make Gani Adam’s ascension to the title a huge insult! Enter, the generalissimo that ran with his tail between his legs from some gun-wielding boys in Owo. Yoruba, welcome the era of an Aare Ona Kakanfo, whose organization exploits, extorts, rapes, kills, maims and robs the citizenry. Gani Adams’ ascension to the post of Aare Ona Kakanfo is a reward for thuggery, violence and all that is despicably wracking our nation. Gani w-h-a-t? The Alaafin got it wrong this time round! |

Nice one from you. Thanh God for the job at hand i will advise you to channel your energy into personal biz/consultancy for Engineering firms/Engineers while collecting salary from your current job as shock absorbed. Resignation isn't an optio5in present day Nigeria. Better still registere your own firm and seek for jobs on the side to enrich your company profile till it grows to a stage where you are fully needed Cheers |
Coming from Shaka Momodu a renown PDP apologist/writer shows that Kanu has become a byword and a repugnant aberration to every right thinking human being. He is an epitome of deceit and fraud. A riffraff whose sole aim for his truancy is money and fame. Now that he gas gone into hiding under his father's bed, we can now as a nation move forward to find solutions to our glaring imperfections. PMB deserves a thumbs up for putting that miscreant in his place and uprooting him like a cancerous growth in ones body. Now it's time for right thinking Nigerians to get down to the serious task of finding out the best basis of our continued existence as a nation. |
mu2sa2:Your reasoning is alarming, what makes a champion? Selling cement to Nigerian6at $9 and selling to other African countries at less than $5? He dares not try his exploitation in a lawful docie6but all u see in Nigeria is lawlessness at it's peak He is a soulless, coldblooded exploiter that can't operate successfully in a leds criminally minded society |
obua:Why not reason before commenting, i have said it here on NL that Dangote is feeding on Nigeria's blood like a parasite and giving us a negligible token in returns. Dangote is a product of our commonwealth. The world's average price of cement is $5 while Dangotes is about $9 yet he has an almost absolute monopoly of the markets but Nigerians are do depraved mentally by reason of acute poverty that the tokens offered by Dangote in exchange for their souls is to them an achievement When will we as a people behave like people with a functional thought process? What Nnamdi Kanu’s Escape Reminds Us About Biafra 1 & Emeka Odimegwu Ojukwu The Great At Least Ojukwu Walks Into Talk Of War While Coward Kanu Flees On Hearing Sound Of Guns By Bola Olawunmi The secessionist insurrection of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) took a dramatic turn in the week ended Saturday, September 23, during which the secessionist group was proscribed and its erstwhile boastful leader, Nnamdi Kanu, took to his heels when confronted with fired up soldiers. Reminds you of Biafra 1 – Emeka Odimegwu Ojukwu – who also went on the lam when federal troops closed in on him back in January 1970? At least, Ojukwu walked the talk of war, but this wet pants peed on only hearing the sound of guns! So much for the empty braggadocio. Also during the week, there was an international angle to the secessionist agitation as the federal government decided to name two countries – Britain and France – as collaborators in IPOB’s partitioning agenda. Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Lai Mohammed, told the nation on Wednesday, September 20, how Britain and France have been tacitly complicit with IPOB in its destabilization of Nigeria. Britain, stated the minister, continues to tolerate Radio Biafra’s hate and incendiary broadcasts from London while France is said to be the financial clearing house of IPOB from where funds flow to the secessionist group. The minister had asserted: “Let me tell you, the financial headquarters (of IPOB) is in France, we know” and also posed a rhetorical question: “Who does not know that IPOB internal radio is located in London?” Mohammed explained how Britain had been frustrating Nigeria’s diplomatic efforts with the British authorities to shut down the pirate radio station only to be given the nebulous excuse of freedom of expression. He had wondered: “If we have a person in Nigeria openly soliciting arms to come and fight in the UK, what would you think of it. Would you consider that freedom of expression? “. The minister implied that the two countries have been engaged in semantics or what I would call diplomatic jousting. Minister Mohammed spoke of “knotty diplomatic issues which you need to skip” only to add in a double talk “I don’t want any diplomatic row”. Of course, the minister knew the charges against the two countries would spark diplomatic skirmishes, perhaps low level, for now. Well, these are trying times in Nigeria and nationalist fervour demands that the country must be ready to ruffle some diplomatic nests in defence of the sanctity of her territorial integrity and sovereignty. There is reciprocity in diplomatic relations. We need to remember that Britain and France have played ignoble roles in the international arena in recent times under the self-serving subterfuge called ‘International Community’. Britain followed the United States to declare war on Iraq on the lie that Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein, had ‘weapons of mass destruction’ which must be neutralized. They ended up destroying that country and got its president hanged, as a rub in. Yet, Tony Blair, the then British Prime Minister, who stridently orchestrated Gulf War 11 could still face the world and declare that he had no apology for the destruction of Iraq, a country that has not known peace since. Such brazenness! Such denial of criminal culpability by a British Prime Minister who had made a past time of pillorying President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe whose main offence was winning re-elections in his country. Apparently, Blair, with imperialist hang-over, wanted a regime change in Zimbabwe but met more than his match in President Mugabe, who once derisively called him Tony b-Liar. The old Zimbabwean war horse was right, Tony Blair lied on Iraq. So, if Britain condoned the Iraqi war, why is the Nigerian government peeved by the British High Commission’s statement condoning Radio Biafra’s hate and inciting broadcasts on the puerile doctrine of freedom of expression? The same Britain that shut down the internet when youths went on rampage in London on the excuse that they were using it to network and mobilize others for the riot. Talk of diplomatic duplicity or double standard. The immediate past British Prime Minister, chubby boy, David Cameron, in an expansive mood, once described Nigeria as a fantastically corrupt country, another brazenness from a country that is fantastically a receiver of stolen funds, being the financial capital of the world, both legitimate and illicit. Well, it was good riddance, as the political gambler fantastically lost the Brexit vote that saw to his exit from 10, Downing Street, the Prime Minister’s official residence. As for France, it supported Biafra 1 and facilitated Emeka Ojukwu’s exile in Ivory Coast, her satellite nation, so, it should be no surprise that it is the financial clearing house for IPOB, the leading agent for Biafra 11. France was indicted in the Rwanda Genocide of 1994, in which an estimated 800,000 Tutsis lost their lives, for being complicit with the then Hutu-led government. France also led the Western onslaught on Libya that saw the killing of Libyan leader, Muamar Gaddafi. In 2011, France, brazenly thwarted the will of the Ivorian people, when under the cover of ‘International Community’ mandate, it provided military support for a candidate, Alassane Quattara, in Cote D’Ivoire’s disputed presidential election conflict to capture a sitting African President, Laurent Gbagbo! Gbagbo had won the majority vote in the main election and was pronounced winner of the re-run election by the country’s Constitutional Court only for the UN Representative in Cote D’Ivoire to assume the role of electoral commission to declare Quattara as the winner! Sadly, Nigeria’s naïve President Goodluck Jonathan, as ECOWAS leader, had endorsed the UN envoy’s verdict, and consequent UN mandate, which accorded French military partisan involvement a dubious legitimacy. Cote D’Ivoire is France’s milking cow, a situation President Gbagbo had ended, so the empire struck back. With Quattara, who is married to a French woman, in charge, France has returned to gravy train in Cote D’Ivoire while President Gbagbo languishes in detention at The Hague facing criminal charges at the International Court of Justice. The West sent Gbagbo to jail for a domestic conflict arising from an election dispute, but Tony Blair still struts around, a free man. Talk of the hypocrisy of the ‘International Community’! Nigeria’s political leadership should be under no illusion about any affectionate love from Britain or France, and, by extension, western countries. Britain and France are yesterday’s countries, over whose empires the sun has set, now playing a fickle third fiddle in international power relations and struggling for residual relevance in Africa. Nigeria, on the other hand, is a country of the future with great potentials which some vested interests may not want manifested being a threat to their hegemonic hold. You see, no country in Europe has Nigeria’s landmass, natural resources or population. According to worldometers.info (2017) the combined population of Britain (66.2 million) and France (64.9 million) is 131.1 million compared to Nigeria’s 192.06 million while the combined landmass of Britain and France is 789,487 sq km as against Nigeria’s 910,770 sq km. Given these endowments plus high calibre human capital, the prospects of Nigeria as the great Black Hope is bright. We can now begin to understand why many countries would have dubious designs on Nigeria and would not be averse to its disintegration. |
diadem10:Sorry for responding to you earlier, the mistake was thinking you were reasonable and capable of a sound intellectual discussion didn't realise you were a child of hate Sorry once again |
ba7man:Not necessarily Nigerians have been deprived of good governance for too long and most people are in a hurry for a change, it's understandable but in all patience is needed to get things right Cheers |
diadem10:Try to read up on the current agricultural revolution ongoing around the country. That might to an extent answer your question Cheers |
seguno2:A campaign promise isn't something clad on stone, it's like an estimate based on perception, you can't really tell till you are inside. The question is are they making an effort in that direction? I think yes. The heavy investment in agriculture which has improved our GDP is one example, increase tax drive to reduce dependence on oil is another and the massive investment in infrastructure that is highly needed is also a good sign. Can there be improvements? SURE but at least seeing efforts in that direction and results trickling in is a heartwarming experience You don't need to question my comprehension ability to make your point, we all get more educated by constructive engagements. Cheers |
seguno2:The problem with people like this is impatience. It's a known fact that destruction of anything is faster and easier than rebuilding it. Do you expect the plunder of 16yrs to be reversed in 2yrs? We aren't there yet but we are on the right path. Hatred can only obscure objectivity. Try and live above it |
This girl use to act i need to know with Funke Akindele back then, though the story was centred around Funke i preferred her to Funke back then. Now years later she's no where near Funke why? Guess this shows that though sex sells it has a limit, for young ladies your intellect will take you 100 times higher than where your body can ever dare try Focus more on your person and less on your body that's the way to enduring success |
bettercreature:CERTIFIED ANS CONFIRMED MOFO. Cowardly Cownu |
blackylola:Of course in the mind of the IPOB miscreants typified by their god the Jewish wannabe Cownu, the greatest coward after ojukwu |
Inspite of our discontent with the state of things presently, Buhari remains our best bet for 2019 Apart from the opportunity of having the input of his vice when he's out which will be increasingly often the needed 8yrs for the North will be assured instead of 12yrs by default. Also considering the recovery of looted funds no matter how skewed it seems, it's too early to return the country to it's vomit. Atiku will no doubt make a good presidential candidate but in the context of the modern day Nigeria, Buhari remains our best. The economy is recovering albeit slowly but yet still improving. Four extra years of Buharis presidency will help consolidate our recovery march As for the youths, the time isn't yet ripe and Elrufai is a NO NO, too infantile and immature to taste a position ad sensitive and powerful as the presidency This is my 2 cents |
Lalas247:Are you for real? She refused him ending her kiss and proceeded to have sex with him yet he's to blame. Hope you understand that if anyone was a victim here it was the guy. He should in fact accuse her of rape and not the other way round. This is the kind of insanity of reasoning is responsible for the moral decadence of the western society that's why the church keeps getting emptier every day. This madness makes them not take responsibility for their actions and create a generation of irresponsible opportunists. May God save us from the devil's wiles clothed in feminism which is nothing but a distortion of heavenly idea of the family unit There has never been a battle mòre ferocious against the family unit like feminism May God help our children |
greggng:Sure injustice persists in the country. Under GEJ the SW was extremely marginalized yet no hate speech was heard. Instead strategies were put in place to vote the Govt out through strategic alliance. Even then press articles and intellectual war was raged. The essence of democracy is alliances. The Hausas you are denigrating haven't gotten any more advantage than you and me in the South. So why castigate a whole tribe because of the greed of a negligible elite population. What is Adeboye and kumuyis relationship with NNPC. The guy just lost a good cause to myopia. He would have been a hero with a large base but lost it to his lack of strategic reasoning. |
greggng:Every genocide in history starts with hate speeches that's why the UN criminalised hate speech. Hate speech is the womb of genocide. Except you terminate the pregnancy of hate speech you don't need a prophet to tell you that genocide will break out in the country soon. I wished Rwandan president had done what the FG has just done to Cownu, the genocide would have been avoided |
greggng:Imagine the scenario where the misguided Arewa youths carry out their threat on Oct 1st and OPC reacts to his insults on Tinubu and obasanjo by violently attacking igbos in their domain, wouldn't the FG be guilty of negligence? How can a man throw a whole nation into turmoil by his recklessness? If the FG hadn't acted then it has no biz remaining in power. There can't be 2 sovereignty in a state without crises |
greggng:Google the video i watched it here on Nairaland and if that's not enough then it's just unfortunate |
greggng:Calling all other tribes animals and our country Zoo and asking igbos to kill Yoruba pastors including Adeboye and Kumuyi isn't provocative enough. I also guess that in your wisdom threatening to go to Abuja and return with the presidents head is also not provocating. You need to be less emotional to reason well. Cownu must face the consequences of his stupidity. That's what you get when you have a dream without enough intellect to back it up Same reasoning you see among igbos on this thread about the sureties, the courts aren't emotional, they are going in for it. The more reason why igbos have become perpetual cry babies, they either act before thinking or whip up emotions to blackmail people in order to get away with their foolishness. Sadly logical reasoning isn't done by emotions |
greggng:Clap for yourself. So they should have waited till other tribes react to his provocation like the Arewa youths did and the whole nation goes into uncontrollable crisis before arresting him? See your argument. Ride on |
Lawlahdey:Simple. The guy has FALLEN in love. That's why he needs help |
