actually, you are cooking it. like about 40mins depending on heat. i cook mine for like an hour. the longer I cook, the better because I don't like the raw aroma of Soyabean.

i love soy. i used to make mine. due to lack of time, i buy soymilk for my cereal and oat.

ayeesha, here is how i make mine. i learnt how to make it when i was in kaduna.
what you need are: hot water and soyabean.

Prep:

- Buy dried soya bean
- Boil hot water and pour inside the beans to soak
- Wash the soyabean skin off (like you do with bean for moin moin)
- Blend into a paste (very smooth)
- Now pour the paste into a pot and cook. If you cover the pot, make sure you watch it and stir.
- Remove from stove when your soy is boiled and let it cool
- Sieve to seperate the milk from the chaff
