PoliticsRe: Osisikankwu Must Be Rejected As A Common Criminal by omojand: 5:05pm On Nov 08, 2010
Osisikankwu is simply a criminal attempting to justify and legitimize his crimes with manipulation methods perfected by our political class.  When backed against the wall, criminals of the likes of Ibori, Atiku, Kalu, Tinubu etc would quickly have us beieve they are fighting our corners. That they are victims of political persecution for thier 'conscientious objections'. We should be so lucky. My people, Nigeria is simply one large theatre of the absurd where criminals and blood thirsty warlords are kings!

Sadly, eliminating Osisikankwu will achieve nothing. The root cause of this criminality must be addressed,  and examples made of our political leaders who continuously dis-enfranchise the people they are meant to serve. This should send a strong, unequivocal message that criminality, under any guise and for whatever concieved purpose, will never go un-punished.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Plead For Ibori's Release by omojand: 5:20pm On Nov 05, 2010
Why are so many people of the black race so backward, so short-sighted? Are we cursed? These people don't realise that criminal acts affects them / their families one way or another.

I stopped reading that article when I saw this

"The majority of our resources are being controlled by the British and I want our country to benefit from them by restructuring the current system," Mr Ibori said in a telephone interview from the Interpol detention centre.
This is how our rulers manipulate, deceive the masses. Even an armed robber in Nigeria can deploy this method effectively and end up being made a state governor, minister etc.

Bloody thief Ibori. Bloody 1diot.
PoliticsRe: I Hate This Country- Nigeria by omojand: 11:22am On Nov 04, 2010
Poster, ignore the nay sayers. This is exactly the type of outrage we need today!! Plenty of it. In time, it should evolve into direct action. Our thieving leaders need to feel very unsafe. They should be VERY AFRAID.

This, or no hope for Nigeria I'm afraid. We are too much of a timid people.
PoliticsRe: SR: London Money Laundering Trial: Uk Prosecutors Portray Mrs. Ibori As A Liar by omojand: 8:18pm On Nov 03, 2010
Where is that ba*t*rd Andoakka that used federal might to try surpress information.

I can't wait to see both Ibori, Andoakka and their cronies in handcuffs!!!

Quick question, is internet connection permitted in Asylums? I could have sworn there was some regulation pertaining to "duty of care" prohibiting it's use ,
PoliticsRe: Bombs Seizure: Sss Arrests Two Suspects ! by omojand: 5:27pm On Oct 28, 2010
I saw MEND's exoneration,Dokpesi's arrest and IBB/northerners wrongful accusation as political, how is it wrong? Now that Henry Okah and some Igbos and south-south people are the ones being tried, has the north not been vindicated?Or can you give me the name of one northerner standing trial for the bombings?
Flawed reasoning. So you presume those arrested so far are the masterminds behind the attack? Wrong! They are merely  foot soldiers in the battle of attrition, low level elements doing the bidding of their desperate paymasters (IBB).

We may eventually find out who the main sponsors are. Or maybe not. Either way,  complicity of desperate elements from the north cannot be ruled out just yet.
PoliticsRe: Bombs Seizure: Sss Arrests Two Suspects ! by omojand: 1:04pm On Oct 28, 2010
I don't understand why they are hiding everything from us.The trial of Okah's brother and now the identity of the importers. There is very high tendency of foul play in all these.
Wrong. Sensitive information like this needs to be very carefully managed while investigations are on-going. In fact, this news should never have been broadcast the way it has. In organized societies, the whole process would have been carefully managed and orchtestrated. The culprits even allowed to take the "goods" albeit under heavy, discreet surveillance.

Unless the actual culprits were identified and ample evidence assembled for their prosecution, this saga should have been handled more discretely. For me, this is a sign of incompetence and disorderliness of our system, even if we must thank God the arms didn't make it into circulation.

We may now never know the true identities of the sponsors of this act.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Is Weak -buhari ! by omojand: 10:56pm On Oct 25, 2010
These were people, dead quiet when we had the weakest, most docile leader in the person of Yaradua as President!

Suddenly every tom, manliness and groundnut has a comment on Jonathan who is running one of the most open, transparent and inclusive
goverments we've ever withnessed.

I no blame all these he-goats. Na Abacha and OBJ style fit them pass.
SportsAmos Adamu - "I Am Not Guilty Of What They Are Saying About Me". by omojand(op): 6:09pm On Oct 22, 2010
Adamu displaying that irrating trait so common in Nigeria! Despite being caught pants down, he's sounding holier than pope benedict xvi . Ok, go on and blame your political rivals jare!

"As far as I am concerned I am not guilty of what they are saying, but the ethics committee is a committee that is credible and Fifa is a credible organisation. I am sure that the whole truth will come out. I welcome it."

Ok, please tell us, Mr Adamu, who are those people "saying". Before you ridicle your being (and Nigeria) further, be adviced that you were caught on camera with all 10 fingers on camera right in it.

Just apologise to the world, resign honourably and go quietly, hopefully into a vary dark hole somewhere.

Oshi!

Perhaps you'll get more responses if you would provide relevant information such as specic background, skillset etc. "4 Years in banking sector" could have different connotations, really.

For example, are you restricting your interest to banking sector roles? You've stated you're working towards earning an MBA, but what level of entry would be of interest to you (or suggest that you are flexible et all  )

PoliticsRe: Goldman’s Mboweni - Nigeria To Be Africa’s New Economic ‘gold Rush’ by omojand: 3:06pm On Oct 22, 2010
Nigerians who live abroad doesnt want any good thing to happen in Nigeria, they criticise and argue blindly on every issue
This statement is at best unqualified and mis-informed. We must learn to be measured in our communication and avoid such blanket generalizations.

I reside abroad (and doing fantastically well by the way). However, nothing will please me more than seeing my country transformed into a stable, progressive entity. We all stand to benefit - directly or indirectly - from a prosperous, stable Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: My Roadmap To Uninterrupted Power Supply, By Atiku by omojand: 9:59am On Oct 22, 2010
Many armed robbers roaming our streets today are more trustworthy than Atiku.

Off all the present crop of aspirants, he is without doubt the most deceptive, clueless and currupt!
EducationRe: How Can I Do A Master's With A 3rd Class ? by omojand: 5:14pm On Oct 21, 2010
Oga na mistress u go do, wetin u dey do for school whilst others dey jack?
Dunces have been known to make 2:1s (or higher), when above average students make 3rd's or worse.

In Nigeria particularly, grade is a biased indicator of ability.

@Poster - You're unlikely to make it into any elite UK (or elsewhere) university.  However, there are a good number of universities (and affiliate colleges) that will accept you.
PoliticsRe: Why Igp Ordered Arrest Of Police Inspector In Lagos by omojand: 10:23am On Oct 21, 2010
Nigerian's abroad must recognize that business aliances like these are bound to fail, will NEVER work as extreme levels of greed, avarice and even envy will eventually take it's toll.

He should consider himself a  lucky man  indeed to be alive -  he could have been killed as part of a desperate cover-up by the police.
PoliticsRe: Goldman’s Mboweni - Nigeria To Be Africa’s New Economic ‘gold Rush’ by omojand: 2:16pm On Oct 20, 2010
^^ Fact.

I recall a saying by Lee kuan Yew, the founding father of modern Singapore, widely aclaimed for transforming Singapore into the financial and industrial powerhouse that it is today, that more than economics, more than politics, a nations faith is determined by it's culture.

Couldn't agree more.

Cultural transformation, rebirth is long overdue. Unless drastic measures are put in place today to genuinely confront excessive public / private sector curruption and waste, even an exponential growth in national revenues is unlikely to have the desired effect, resulting in a net "near zero" benefit to the overal economy.
InvestmentRe: Top 10 Best Nig. Investment Banks In This Meltdown Period? by omojand: 3:57pm On Oct 19, 2010
Problem with most folks is that they dont really understand what it takes to run a business. They start up with Low capital, poor or no business plan and end up crashing. They then turn around and blame the "hostile environment".
This is a common mistakes by business start-ups everywhere, but I agree in Nigeria it's more the case.

It's almost as if investors go in with best case scenario analysis only.

The other day, someone presented me with a business plan for a start-up in Nigeria, which was about to launch. I brought out my spreadsheet and quickly did some very basic P&L modelling using data from the market analysis he had carried out.

He was horrified at the outcome. Even at an overly optimistic 50% above his projected annual turnover (which I thought was already quite high), the venture would still be running at a loss - mostly due to high operational costs.

Nothing beats rigorous analysis - competitive analysis, appropriabilty, and most importantly operational cost.

PoliticsRe: Hurray:Dubai Court Extradites Ibori To London by omojand: 4:20pm On Oct 18, 2010
Those of us that have no time for such shallow and hare-brained celebration of inconsequential things
I disagree that extraditing / jailing Ibori is inconsequential in the least.

It's a hugely symbolic development, even if 100 million questionable characters bestride our cities. Ibori and his ilk have become symbols of extreme curruption in high places.

If for no other reason, it thoroughly exposes the flaws in our judicial system and ridicles our anti-currution pretences.

As a nation, we desperately desire that this precedent be set. Hopefully, many more will follow.
PoliticsRe: Hurray:Dubai Court Extradites Ibori To London by omojand: 12:39pm On Oct 18, 2010
Tell them oh. ''Hurray''? As if his extradition would improve Nigerians' living condition.
Here we go again!! Typical Nigerian apathy. In fact, no need locking up kidnappers and armed robbers as it won't affect the living standards of most Nigerians abi?
Is that a valid deduction from my earlier post? Or perhaps a valid instance of 'typical Nigerian' misrepresentation of facts?
Dude, thats the only deduction I could make from your post, which was clear and unambigous.

His extradition and likely imprisonment is worth celebrating and I will celebrate with a bottle of Crystal when he's well tucked away in a Wormwood scrubs cell. Should send a message to those thieving bas.tard.s in Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: 'my Brother Was Faking My Voice' Says Okah by omojand: 2:48pm On Oct 15, 2010
The main problem with Nigeria is our gullibility. This is the power of distraction employed by desperate criminals in Nigeria.

All a criminal under pressure has to do is turn on his prosecutor with any allegation under the sun, we listen with ears wide open. The hunter then becomes the hunted.

That is why crooks in high places get away with just about anything in Nigeria. They play the system to it's fullest simply because of who we are as a people. Gullible!!!

CareerRe: How Smart And Skilled Is The Nigerian Worker, Actually? by omojand: 4:33pm On Oct 14, 2010
The craze 4 degrees n certification
This is becoming a thumping ground, with an increasingly negative association.

The relentless pursuit of certifications has it's foundations in a lack of a credible
educational system in Nigeria, with the limited opportunities pursued by a large, young competitive population. Not to add the absence of long term, strategic planning in the areas of entrepreneurship and infrastructural provisioning that only serves to compound the 'certification siege' mentalilty we display.

No doubt in the long run, as an enabling environment ensues, continous professional development through certification and further education should result a net positive gain to our economy.
PoliticsRe: Power Supply: I Won’t Make Empty Promises To Nigerians -jonathan by omojand: 12:56pm On Oct 14, 2010
I'm convinced GEJ will deliver, specifically on Power Infrastructure (Not sure about education though. The problems plaguig our education system may require over a decade to correct).

The disaster will be if another Nomad Muturu from the North becomes President!!! In that case, simply expect another lost decade.
PoliticsRe: Ex-petroleum Minister, Etete, Returns From Exile To Contest For Governorship by omojand: 9:20pm On Oct 13, 2010
It's amazing that a thief can just enter our dear country and claim to want to "restore peace to the Niger Delta"!
Why can't he? Whats the difference between him, Babangida and Atiku. Naija's politics attracts the criminally insane! Mad people in high places I say.
PoliticsRe: Are Dokpesi And Ibb Lying? by omojand: 3:25pm On Oct 12, 2010
Excellent write-up, intuitive and captures the  extreme selfishness of Babangida and his northern Cabal.

Their main grouse with OBJ is that they failed to control him as they had wished and are now petrified by the influence he exerts over Jonathan.

Nigerian will not be fooled again.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Running Out Of Luck ! ! ! ! ! by omojand: 11:44am On Oct 12, 2010
We can have better
Couldn't agree more. But things must be considered in the context of our realities. I would love a Donald Duke or a Fashola. But is that even remotely achievable right now?

Make no mistake, the battle right now is for the survival of a desperate northern cabal who see power as their exclusive preserve Vs. the rest of us. It's this manipulative, relentless and selfish propaganda that's undermining GEJ.

It's important we see beyond the facade of those bent on foistering their selfish interest over us.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Running Out Of Luck ! ! ! ! ! by omojand: 11:36am On Oct 12, 2010
The only change we have witnessed under Jonathan is that you have a President wearing Etibo and Bollar Hart replacing another that used to wear Babaringa. Apart from that not much has changed.

It is the same placing premuim on survival politics over National Interest and brazen corruption everywhere.
Mike Oghiadome had replaced mike Aondoakaa as chief enforcer of corruption. Patience has replaced Turai while one clueless Jonathan has replaced his clueless boss Yar'adua.
I doubt that anyone would suggest Jonathan is the messiah, or the solution to all the nations leadership crisis. No doubt he  is flawed, but no more than the compromised system that produced him.

But he is only the begining of the change that Nigeria so desperately needs. He's had only a few months and has made an impact, handling a difficult job in a difficult period of transition and extreme politics.

Lets give him a chance to begin the journey of change and hopefully help create a system that'll produce more capable, progressive people that can succeed him.
