Politics › Re: Ekweremadu’s A Good Example For Nigerian Politicians —saraki by omojeesu(m): 12:23pm On Dec 29, 2015
DONSMITH123:
By Henry Umoru

President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki has described his Deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, as a perfect example for Nigerian politicians, saying that he has no regret working with him.

Senator Saraki spoke as Senator Ekweremadu described his re-emergence as Senator and Deputy President of the Senate as an act of God.

The two spoke at a civic reception at the country home of Senator Ekweremadu, in Mpu, Enugu State, shortly after a special thanksgiving service, where Ekweremadu rededicated himself to service to Nigeria and mankind.

Senator Saraki in his address, described Senator Ekweremadu as a man, who every Nigerian politician should look forward to working with.

He said: “For we politicians, it is always better to get close to know somebody because in our meetings in the 7th Senate, myself and him were far apart, but in this current Senate, I am the first person to tell a few people that Senator Ekweremadu is a perfect gentleman. You are a perfect gentleman and I repeat that many times and you are a good example for we politicians.

“He is the type of Nigerians that we will want to continue to serve because he only sees things for the good of Nigeria. I am grateful to be working with you and I will continue to assure you that we will continue to work closely for the interest of this great country.”

Earlier at the special thanksgiving service by his family, Ekweremadu recalled his journey back to the Senate, saying, “about two years ago, nobody would have believed that we will be here talking about Ike Ekweremadu being a Senator again, let alone being the Deputy President of the Senate. But, by the grace of God, I am today not only the Senator representing Enugu West, but also the Deputy President of the Senate.

“We went through very tumultuous primaries that almost divided our state along the line, but we thank God that today Enugu is united and peaceful.

“After the elections, PDP lost control of the National Assembly and many people thought we were finished, but we went into political engineering and I want to thank my colleagues for that long night. We decided that when we got to the chamber in the morning, we were going to perform wonders and when the time came for the inauguration of the Senate, I was re-elected Deputy President of the Senate. It was the will of God.”

The most important future knowledge is already in scripture. The comings of antichrist, first then Christ. Every other is by the god of this world and it goes like this:

1. Fix human lives under his control for the future
2. Reveal the plans to an annoited agent e.g. prophet or witch doctor
3. Implement the plan
4. Get the people to fear and continue to believe in the scheme and agent every year.

Only God can change the above for His reason and in His own wisdom.

My advice to readers:
Ignore this and other such predictions that will come. Seek the truth from the Bible.

Jesus is Lord!

Yes I do think so.

But to whom much is given, much is expected / required / demanded.

Leadership demands trust and responsibility.

But a good follower should emulate only good qualities of a leader, not the bad ones!

Of course, this can't be supported by any bible verse because it is just one of the many interpretations of the bible by man in order to suit his convenience.
Here are examples of supportive verses:

1. The OT was WEAK, UNPROFITABLE and NOT PERFECT:

Hebrews 7:11
IF THEREFORE PERFECTION WERE BY the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) WHAT FURTHER NEED WAS there that ANOTHER priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

Heb 7:18
For THERE IS VERILY a DISANNULLING of the commandment going before for the WEAKNESS and UNPROFITABLENESS thereof.

Heb 7:22
BY SO MUCH WAS Jesus MADE a SURETY of a BETTER testament.

Heb 8:6
But NOW HATH HE OBTAINED a MORE EXCELLENT MINISTRY, by how much also he is the MEDIATOR of a BETTER COVENANT, which was established upon BETTER PROMISES.

Heb 8:7 FOR IF THAT FIRST COVENANT HAD BEEN FAULTLESS, THEN SHOULD NO PLACE HAVE BEEN SOUGHT for THE SECOND.

Heb 8:13
In that he saith, A NEW COVENANT, HE HATH MADE THE FIRST OLD. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

2. On animal sacrifices:

Heb 9:13
For IF the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

Heb 9:14 HOW MUCH MORE shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from DEAD WORKS to serve the living God?

...... Law = shadow

Heb 10:1
For the law having a SHADOW of good things to come, and NOT THE VERY IMAGE of the things, CAN NEVER with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Heb 10:14
For BY ONE OFFERING he HATH PERFECTED FOR EVER them that are sanctified.

Are you implying that we can cherry-pick the Old Testament rules as we like?

Matthew 5:18-19
For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth
disappear, not the smallest letter, not the
least stroke of a pen, will by any means
disappear from the Law until everything is
accomplished.
Therefore anyone who sets aside one of
the least of these commands and teaches
others accordingly will be called least in
the kingdom of heaven, but whoever
practices and teaches these commands
will be called great in the kingdom of
heaven.
Yes, we can and should, in fact cherry-pick which OT law to obey!

The Law has 3 main components: Ceremonial / ritualistic, moral and civil. The first essentially deals with worship, notably temple worship e.g. animal sacrifice, ceremonial cleansings, food items approved or not, no graven image, approved clothing, etc The second deals with human relationships e.g. thou shall not kill, steal, etc while the third generally emanates from the second to manage societal peace.

Jesus lived under the OT and perfectly fulfilled the Law. No one did before Him. It was impossible to even do so by any man then and after and now. Not only that. With authority and finality, He gave proper interpretation and understanding to the law correcting many wrong notions the religious leaders of the time gave the people.

Jesus put and end to the law namely the ceremonies and rituals. The moral laws are eternal. They sum up in Love of fellow humans, neighbours and enemies alike.

The material composition of clothes worn is immaterial to a person's salvation and relationship with God under the GRACE in the NT. (just as whether you eat pork or not won't affect God)

Sunnah acts of Jumuah
1. To take a bath.
2. To wear nice and clean clothes.
3. To proceed early to the Masjid.
4. To go to the Masjid on foot.
5. To try to sit as close as possible to the Imaam.
6. If the Saffs (rows) are already filled, one should not
jump over the shoulders of the musallies in order to get to
the front.
7. One should not do any futile action eg. one should not
fiddle with one’s clothes or fingers.
8. To listen to the Khutba attentively.
9. The person who recites Surah Kahaf on Friday will be
bestowed with a Noor( Spiritual light) from under the Arsh
(The Throne of Allah Ta’ala) which will extend from the
earth till the sky and will benefit him in the darkness of the
Day of Qiyaamah. All his (minor) sins which he had
committed from the previous Jumu’ah up to this Jumu’ah
will be forgiven.
10. Rasulullah ( ) is reported to have said, “Recite
Durood upon me in abundance on the day of Jumua’h
since they are presented to me.”
11. On the day of Jumua’h it is sunnah to apply oil to the
hair and to use it or any other sweet smelling fragrance.
Thanks.

I only just wonder if some sins are minor while others are major, and perhaps some are in between these two in gravity and punishment.

The Bible makes no such distinction. Sin separates from God. A lie is as sinful as adultery or murder in ETERNITY terms. Each and all, unconfessed and unrepented of sends to hell on the long run.

One sin, just one sin in an entire lifetime, according to the Bible, is enough to send a man to hell! 1% good and 99.99% good are both = 0% good before God. It is good to be morally sound, but it is not enough to save from hell. That's why God sent Jesus into the world.

John 3:16 For GOD SO LOVED the world, that he GAVE his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE everlasting life.

That WHOSOEVER includes You and I!
More than 30 years ago I RECEIVED the Son that God GAVE.

His PERFECT BLOOD CANCELS ALL SINS THAT HAVE BEEN COMMITTED AND WILL EVER BE COMMITTED BY UNREGENERATE MEN.

Will you please do likewise on this Christmas day?

Yes, exactly what it means as the gate is narrow, so you'll have to forcibly push yourself in to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven upon hearing the Good News of the Kingdom of God

Remember that, it was John the Baptist who was announcing ''Repent, repent'', (i.e. Change, change) for the Kingdom of God is near
before Jesus and His disciples came on stage, to finally announce that Kingdom of God has come near to the hearers

Exactly.
As the gate is narrow, you'll have to force your way in, you have no alternative that to force or press your way in,
the Kingdom of Heaven allowed, tolerated, permitted (i.e. suffereth'') these ''the violent'' to enter in this manner

Here is the witness scripture (i.e. Luke 16:16) that not only backs Mathew 11:12 up
but also puts Mathew 11:12 into perspective (i.e. Luke 16:16 makes the gist in Mathew 11:12 clearer)

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence,
and the violent take it by force.

- Mathew 11:12

"Moses' Teachings and the Prophets were [in force] until the time of John.
Since that time, people have been telling the Good News about the kingdom of God,
and everyone is trying to force their way into it

- Luke 16:16

"Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the messages of the prophets were your guides.
But now the Good News of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is eager to get in
- Luke 16:16

''Suffereth'' in Mathew 11:12 means tolerated, allowed, permitted
and the ''violence'' in Mathew 11:12 DOES NOT mean behaviour involving physical force with intention to hurt, damage, kill or be destructive
but rather eagerness to push in, to press in etcetera through the ''narrow gate'' in order to gain access into entering the Kingdom of Heaven
Noted. Thanks for education.

You've paraphrased inaccurately

Was the Kingdom of Heaven not under the attack of contrary forces prior to the days of John the Baptist?

Remember it states: ...from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence

Remember the Kingdom of God wasnt preached until John the Baptist on to now
This is not about ''contrary forces''
but rather it is about ''friendly forces'' who upon hearing the Good News about the Kingdom of God preached from the days of John the Baptist until now (i.e. the present), the Kingdom of Heaven has allow, permitted or tolerated (i.e. suffereth) them (i.e. the ''friendly forces'') to press in, push in, force their way in (i.e. so they, as violent but not in a destructive or evil manner) via the narrow gate to enter the Kingdom of Heaven
YOU MEAN

'Since the days of John the Baptist, people have been pressing on the Kingdom of Heaven to enter it but those who push hard enough are the ones who succeed to enter into it'

Since John, the Kingdom has been strongly appealing to men who because of that have been flocking / rushing into it and those who are determined to enter it seize it and hold on to it powerfully!

As I was reading through Nairaland beginning from 1:20pm on my newly acquired Tecno Phantom 5, I observed that many people have misrepresented the scriptures as penned down in Mathew 11:12

Let's see what the scriptures indeed say about it.

Mathew 11:12

KJV:And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

The truth about this verse is simple; it does talk about aggressiveness or violence but it does not in any way talk about it in prayers as we have been told by most preachers.

The verse talks about how many from time past have been violent in preaching the message of the Kingdom of God and not even of Heaven o as some may conclude! The verse talks about how we as CHRISTIANS are supposed to be spread the message of living in the Kingdom of God where Jesus is the King in charge of all affairs.

The verse has been so misquoted that it is the first thing preachers use when they want to tell you to SHOUT, SCREAM, ROAR with NOISE before God hears you meanwhile the Bible has already stated why God doesn't hear people at times (SIN).

It is therefore imperative that we come to terms about God not being influenced by anyone's loud prayers or screams or shouts PR aggressiveness during prayers! It is unscriptural just like paying tithes to a pastor is for members of the Kingdom of God.

Having read your comment several times, I don't seem to reconcile the bolded.

I know no good teacher/school would certify a student that doesn't have a good enough understanding of a course work to meet the minimum score required to pass in continuous assessment.

Since the M-J mystery is part of the course work, and there are "inconsistencies, errors", is it the fault of the student that seeks to have an understanding of the course?

What do you mean by pre-incarnate existence?

That is an "error" in this case, because Melchizedek was not a Spirit Being but a physical flesh and blood being, that wined, dined and interacted with men.

The prefix "pre" suggest before physical earth bodily existence.

Why do you categorize "me" as "groups"? My moniker is not even "Legion" grin

I am not questioning the spirituality or intellectualism of the bible, but to understand the course content enough to be certified "worthy in character and Learning" in the continuous assessment leading up to the attainment of Christhood.

As for the Eden story, lets leave it for now.

I don't think I raised any objections to the Bible Christ, my Lord.
Illustrations and examples are not always perfect, but we can, should and do use them anyway. Jesus did also. You did and it's ok.

The acada example you used is ok. The problem is while self effort may or may not earn you 100% you can't know everything there is to know about a subject, to be qualified, even teachers, professors, specialists and experts. In Christ, it's expected, good and desirable that one grows in knowledge, but better still in love!

The uneducated is not sidelined in Christ. Though he may not be able to read, he understands that love of God, neighbour and enemies, faith, holiness, trust in God, relationship and intimacy with God and such are key. Deep intricate knowledge of the Bible as important, desirable and useful is not necessary to live the above to be acceptable with God and Christ.

How many Christians understood the eschatology in Daniel and Revelation before death? Yet many are in heaven today.

In the philosophical and esoteric groups such as AMORC, Grail Message, Eckankar, how many members can't read and write? Thank God for intellectualism. But thank God MORE for the ACCESS to God that Christ made possible!

Luke 10:21
In that hour Jesus REJOICED in spirit, and SAID, I THANK thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that THOU HAST HID THESE THINGS from THE WISE and PRUDENT, and HAST REVEALED them UNTO BABES: even so, Father; for so it SEEMED GOOD in THY SIGHT.

1 Corinthians 1:19 - 29
For it is written, I will DESTROY the WISDOM of THE WISE, and will BRING to NOTHING the UNDERSTANDING of the PRUDENT.

WHERE is the wise? WHERE is the SCRIBE? WHERE is the DISPUTER of this world? HATH NOT God MADE FOOLISH the WISDOM of this WORLD?

For after that IN THE WISDOM of God the WORLD BY WISDOM KNEW NOT GOD, it PLEASED God by the FOOLISHNESS of PREACHING to save them that believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST the POWER of God, and the WISDOM of God.

Because the FOOLISHNESS of God is WISER than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

For ye see your CALLING, brethren, how that NOT MANY WISE MEN AFTER THE FLESH, not many mighty, not many noble, ARE CALLED:

BUT God hath CHOSEN the FOOLISH things of the world TO CONFOUND the wise; and God hath chosen the WEAK THINGS of the world to CONFOUND the things which are MIGHTY;

And BASE THINGS of the world, and things which are DESPISED, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY in HIS PRESENCE.

Job 11:7
