charles009: Everything you are about to read is 100% real, I will try to make is snappy. It's exactly 4:10am and I still get sleep. Please see below.
I Recently got a top management role in a Nigerian fmcg company. The GMD always show this affection towards me barely few months into the new job and some employees keep asking how i won over an unusually difficult man. I was given a 2010 SUV upon resumption, one week later, he replaced the car with a 2015 SUV. Amazing ain't it?
Now hear this, Between 3am/4am, I slide into this unusual trance, as if someone is slowly whispering to me sleep, sleep, sleep son, I am always conscious of my background while this happens, then My boss appears, opens up a room filled with gold and riches, he says to me, all this will be yours, if only you heed to my request. What is his request, he wants my 11 month old son in exchange.
I shrugged this off initially as a one off, bad day or something, but guess what it has repeated in different scenarios more than 9times in my 3 months on the job.
Last week, I returned from Lagos, very happy, having brokered the biggest deal in the history of the brand, but this happened. He brought me into a session, called my name and said, for personal reasons, I will relieve you. I was shell shocked, why I asked? Once again he said, it's unfortunate, but i want us to remain friends. He handed over a cheque to me, with my full year consolidated salary and entitlements. I thanked him and left. I Handed in my resignation letter, he accepted it, wished me well and even gave me an excellent recomendation letter, My last salary has since been paid in full. The cheque was personal between us.
I have accepted my situation with two hands and moved on. I refuse to let my head drop.
Till now, I still stare at the cheque every morning, I feel I should just forget about the money and move on. What do you guys think? Ori e ope |

iyaayi: My live in brother in law of whom we are agemates barged into my room unannounced this morning. I was totally naked & had to dive under the bed from the shame & shock.
He stood there apologising that he didn't know i was in the room (we had met outside by the clothes line a short while ago). The most painful part is that my husband who was lying in d bed in the room didn't find it necessary to utter a word. When I confronted him, he said that shebi his brother had said 'sorry' I really don't know what to do. I feel let down by hubby's reaction & also ashamed about the whole incident. pls good folks, what do I do to redress the situation. thank you What do you do? Career › Re: My Twin Brother Just Got A Pay Rise In A Micro Finance Bank: Don't Give Up! by omomummy13: 4:21pm On May 26, 2017 |
noblealuu: My twin brother started working in a Micro-Finance Bank some time last year in September, 2016 after he had waited at home for over a year post NYSC jobless.
He miraculously got this said job when a friend/brother who is an Okada Rider in the village met him and encourage him to give him his CV as he was traveling to Owerri, Imo State from Ebonyi where my twin brother was residing with my parents. Mind you, this Okada Rider is not even a Secondary School graduate. So my brother obliged, attended interviews and while all hope was lost, I persuaded him to come down to Lagos where i'm based which he did so we could intensify our job hunting in Lag.
Few weeks after his arrival, he got an SMS from the Micro-Finance Bank to come for his employment letter and induction at a scheduled date. Although he had an inkling of the pay in this establishment, he reluctantly travelled back to the East to take up this offer. I felt bad because I knew I would miss him....Well considering a bird at hand being worth more than a thousand in the bush, I decided to resign to fate. Upon receiving the Appointment Letter, his pay was #48000, for a graduate of Political Science (BSc.)
He was posted to Enugu State soon after the Induction/Training to resume work. I was sad, considering the meagerly pay vis avis the recession bedeviling our country. Meanwhile, I informed him few weeks ago that by the time he clocks a year at the organization, he should honorably resign so he'll learn a vocation...was thinking about Welding/Plumbing being that we could put our heads together to legitimately migrate to a better country. After all we aren't married...so we better the lots of our unborn children.
Dear brothers and sisters of N'land, just a few minutes ago, he called me that he got his alert for May salary and the pay was raised to One Hundred and Seven Thousand Naira (#107,000).
In sum, never give up. Despise not the days of little beginning for you shall reap if you faint not. Perseverance is key and the root of the matter is found in you! God bless you. Na mistake, it will soon be reversed. Just keep us updated. |
Romance › Re: Help! A Lady Is Pregnant For Me But I Don't Love Her by omomummy13: 4:18pm On May 26, 2017 |
freddymanny49: Hello NL,
I don fumble men. Some lady came over to my place to sleep over. As usual things went down that i couldn't help but release my sperm in this young lady. I bought her contraceptive pills to use but it turns out that she didn't use them. Now she called me to tell me that she hasn't seen her period for days now and i banged this chick first Friday of this month.
I am so confused because I have a girl I want to marry and i am truly in love with this girl i want to. My world is crashing because of a stupid choice i just made by sleeping with an ex without a condom. Now she wants to keep the baby which I am cool with. My concern is that her people will force me to marry her. I cant marry a woman that i am not in love with.
What do i do? What do i do? I don't want to be forced into marriage because of circumstance.
This chick forced herself on me to sleep with her and i was drunk and under influence of hard drugs when this happened.
Now I am rambling and rambling because I don't genuinely love this girl. She is someone i am not even proud to show the world. The girl i want to marry comes from an affluent background just like i do. How do i handle this? Oloshi somebody |
Romance › Re: Why Do I Keep Meeting These Kind Of Ladies? by omomummy13: 5:13pm On May 25, 2017 |
26andsearching: I don't know why am always meeting materialistic ladies
Although I didn't do much dating at school, but the few I had were so demanding. Meanwhile the reverse is the case for my guys.
Am not the stingy type, I love to go out on dates , once in awhile hand out not so expensive gifts but cool gifts. Send airtime if I can.
But the kind of gals I meet eh Be like
I need money to make hair 3k...
I need money for one silly thing or the other and so on.
Virtually putting responsibilities that belongs to her father on my head.
I tend to yield to some because of konji sometimes, I can't die na
I always admire my friends babe. She is so content. I mean I can't even describe how cool she is. She actually paid for my friends final year fees and supported him when he had family issues. I know there lot of ladies like this out there , but why am I yet to meet one
Okay this happened to me last week at ICM. Saw this chic looking all good. I didn't dull we started talking exchanged contacts , immediately we got home started chatting on WhatsApp , in my mind was already happy my have got an honest one.
Next day was a Saturday. Woke up na she they my mind
Started chatting immediately , cut long story short , she asked me for 3k , I nearly mad.
I mean am yet to even ask u out and u had to make that request.
This threw me off balance, and I had to take a long pause and think. It's really scaring me cos am in the point of my life where I have to be serious.
I just can't phantom out wat the problem might be.
Is that am too fine Cos hell yeah I am ( don't ask for my pic)
Or they money smell on me when I walk
Money isn't my issue, but I don't just want to build a relationship around a liability gal.
I would really appreciate good and solid opinions especially from married people.
Thanks Dude, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. Stop chasing girls above your class and you'll be fine. Having money more than them does not make their taste, they absolutely see you as money miss road and are all out to teach you some lesson. |
Romance › Re: Am I Foolishly In Love Or Just Over-reacting? by omomummy13: 5:02pm On May 25, 2017 |
Padiimii: Firstly, I have to admit I created a new account to get this much needed help. Ok, So I met my girlfriend sometime last year and just recently we celebrated our 1 year anniversary as lovers. Truth be told, she is an amazing personality; submissive, loving, caring, intelligent and hardworking. Infact, she's got a large portion of attributes that any man would want in a woman. When we first met, I noticed really that she has alot of online friends whom she usually chat with as close friends (or maybe lovers sha). I kept cool thinking it ll just pass when things get serious between us. During this period she told me how she got close with one of those online guys that she requests porn clips from him. Fortunately or unfortunately, I know this guy ( he is my friend gan sef), I just allowed the matter lay low and warned her never to ask him or any other guy for such things as it reduces the respect any person has for the lady and she promised not to. This is because I dont want anyone disrespecting and disregarding her whenever she s been introduced to family and friends. Alas! I caught my babe, requesting porn video from another of her online friends (I don't know this guy tho..) Once more. She assured me that she just did it coz she hasn't seen this guy before so its safe to ask him, Unlike the previous guy that they do see. After this occurrence, I ve caught her flirting with friends on facebook messenger to the extent that they refer to her as 'my love' some even call her 'my wife'. More saddening is that some of them are mutual friends and are guys I really know. She claims they are the ones disturbing her and she has no feelings for anyone of them except me ; Her First love. Fast Forward to present day, we started having a bigger issue now which is about to bring the relationship to halt. Four days back while we were chatting she asked if I know any guy answering so so name. I check my friends list and answered NO. That question kept pondering my heart so I decided to log into her facebook account. (I Later got to know her password after I helped her change password once). I came to understand that the guy she just asked about and herself had just been friends and as usual, she is showing this guy green light and flirting seriously with him (someone that she's yet to see o and just met for that matter).. I decided to break the relationship. But surprisingly she kept reaffirming me that there s nothing between her and the guy that its just facebook friendly chatting.
PLEASE ladies and matured people in the house. Is it really possible that she actually mean what she is saying? do ladies still really behave this way after which they are in a relationship with someone they claim to love Or maybe I am the one overeacting here? EDAKUN EPP ME Ode oshi... |

VicMadich88: I met my wife (very beautiful, humble Igbo gal) in 2012, and we've been datin since then. We both from Imo State...
On tht same year we met, I moved to south Africa to study an still residing in SA. I see her twice a year, and she visits SA as well. We got married ths past February, and few days after our wedding, I had to return.
But now I feel I made a very big mistake by marrying her, not because she's bad for me bt because I've realized I'm not in love with her anymore. I don't know wat to do, she's such a wonderful lady. God fearing, sings in the church choir, young and beautiful.
How should I let her know that i'm not in love with her anymore? I'm scared of the embarrassment my parents will bare with all of this? Our pastor at church? Her family? I don't believe in divorce, so are my parents...but what do I do in this situation?. Politics › Re: Why I Omitted Tinubu In My Victory Speech – Akeredolu by omomummy13: 10:30am On Dec 01, 2016 |
Oomo forget it. Tinubu stopped Obasanjo from turning Nigeria to a one party state. Tinubu gave Nigerians an alternative to PDP. He made ya'll voices heard. Tinubu put together a coalition to challenge and eventually defeat an incumbent president in Nigeria (ko sele ri). Tinubu has made a lot of leaders both at state & federal level. So please, who's your father again? And what's your definition of influence? Is buhari ought to meddle in South West politics? That's outright betrayal. Using federal might to embarrass the same man who helped him to power. SillyMods: I never said there won't be godfatherism in our politics any longer. I just informed you people are getting tired of it in the SW. Have you asked yourself what could make all those Tinubu's boys of yesterday become his political enemies today? You don't think overbearing and domineering tendency of Tinubu on Fashola, Fayemi, Akeredolu, and a few others is bad?
No doubt he discovers quality personality but he must check his own excesses too.
What do you think could have happened btw him and Ambode if the later refused to represent him at a function just about two months into his governorship? Was it right for a sitting governor to represent any otger person in a state no matter how influential the person is? I have nothing against Tinubu except that he overestimates his influence and power. |
Politics › Re: Why I Omitted Tinubu In My Victory Speech – Akeredolu by omomummy13: 10:11am On Dec 01, 2016 |
The heart of MAN is filled with pure evil.
His domineering attitude saved buhari from Atiku during the presidential primaries.
His domineering attitude saved oyegun from Tom Ikimi. Tinubu spent his time & money to install oyegun as party chairman.
Without his foresight & sacrifice, PDP will still be in power today and probably forever since Nigeria would have turned to a one party state.
Tinubu staked his life for APC to be in government. Where was this demented Akeredolu then? See him now reaping where he did not sow plus the effrontery to insult the goose who laid the golden egg. Ah, God Almighty will judge you all.
Without his domineering attitude, Amosun wouldn't have been picked the first time. Name them, fayemi, fashola, ajimobi and a whole lot more are big men today because of Tinubu's domineering attitude.
What then is ya'll problem? The Fulani's are invading the SW and our very own people, brought up by Tinubu are at the fore front of humiliating him. No worries, PDP did the same thing to their founding fathers and today they are in opposition.
ADVISE FOR TINUBU: Please sit back, relax and see where they will all end up. It's clear the evil in man is at play. Watch your back. |

Career › Re: Banking Career + Masters Pursuit In Abuja, How Tenable? by omomummy13: 6:10pm On Jun 22, 2015 |
DrNeoCortex: I was in your shoes exactly three years ago. Same bank, same position. The question you should ask yourself is "What is my long term career objective?" One thing is certain, GTBank does not care if you have a masters degree or not as long as you continue to deliver your yearly budget. Also, getting a random MBA (no-name) has a very marginal effect on your career prospects considering the pool of employable candidates in Nigeria. Finally, commercial banking in Nigeria (Operations or Marketing) requires very limited skills which are not easily transferrable to other industries. This is the reason why you will mostly see people change jobs within banking and not outside of banking.
One a second note with respect to your salary, it looks good now until you get married in Abuja and realise how significantly underpaid you are. As the last I heard of the bank, promotion is now very rare with a minimum of two years and not exactly certain year-on-year. So, at best you are looking at SBO in five-six years. Considering that you do not have a business background, the more time you spend in banking the more you box yourself to a corner and become unemployable.
My advise is that you should forget MBA for now and enroll in a professional course/certification (ACCA, CFA) asap, even if it kills you in the process. Best Advise so far plus i do not believe he became an ABO after 2yrs plus if this is how banks promote, everyone will be at mid to senior management level by now.......On average, promotion comes every 4 - 5yrs in a typical Nigerian bank...............8/10 |
