LOL, I was ready for all and applied 3 weeks after. • Submit a sincere application with necessary supporting documents backing up everything you say, they won’t waste your time if you’re straight to the point. • Finally PRAYER… GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS, ITS JUST TIME AND PATIENCE. With all these things you will succeed… I pray that God will meet you all at the point of your needs. AMEN!!!! Did you do online or paper? Frankrobbn1: Omonoba1981,
Don't be frightened by the B3 grade indicated on the University Admission requirement webpage. If you score C6 in English, it's also acceptable.
Try sending an email to the admission office to know if you stand a chance of securing Admission with a D7 in English. Most especially, The University of Winnipeg. Thanks, I did that already and waiting for there response. |

Frankrobbn1: Omonoba1981,
I'm sorry to say this, but applications that appears in this manner are very tough to win a TRV APPROVAL in as much no matter what you present to the visa officer as your intent to study will be far-fetched and meaningless to them.
I have been watching closely from the advices given to you by my bosses. But it will interest you to know that going for an ESL program as a pre-requisite course prior your enrollment into your academic program and coming from an English speaking country Nigeria is never easy for such application to scale through the sight of a visa officer. Why do you want to spend so much on ESL program in Canada? Why travel all the way from Nigeria to Canada just to study ESL? Why can't you undertake an IELTS/TOEFL exam and save your self the stress of putting your TRV application at risk? Also, when going for an ESL program, you have to take into account that your sponsor needs to show funds excessively for both the ESL program, your first year undergraduate tuition and your living expenses which cost a hell lot of money. The worst part of it all is that you will be issued a study permit based on only the length of the ESL program. Upon successful completion of the ESL you will then reapply for another study permit in Canada that will allow you to continue your undergraduate studies.... Which is another stress!
My advise to you is that, you apply to another university that will waive English proficiency requirement for you, or you sit for an IELTS/TOEFL exam and get this ESL requirement off your neck. More so, DON'T apply for your visa with an 18 months program in a polytechnic, you will be automatically refused based on PURPOSE OF VISIT. Therefore, your best bet here is going for a direct Bsc undergraduate program since you are within the age bracket for a Bachelors degree Canada.
This is my advise!
All the best! What is your thought about UTP program. UTP Stage II: Engineering This is even a 12 months program https://www.icmanitoba.ca/programs/utp-stage-ii-science |

My questions goes thus; 1.How long does it take for an admission letter to b out? 2. Considering my age, I heard it might b difficult for me to get my visa approved n that of my hubby as accompanied spouse, that they only approve younger pple. how true is dis? 3.The agent told me d resumption date for all d schls is September, is it possible for us to get our visa approved before this date? 4. What exactly are the steps to getting visa approved once admission letter is out Pls I need your kind response to this questions as it has been a major concern to me. Thank you. |

Frankrobbn1: Omonoba1981,
Apply to schools like: Brandon University Manitoba Canada, The University of Winnipeg Canada, The university of Manitoba Canada. There is, however, a college located on our campus that can provide you with a pathway to undergraduate studies at the University of Manitoba called the International College of Manitoba (ICM). They offer two programs; the University Transfer Program (UTP) Stage 1 is a pre-university foundation program, while UTP Stage 2 leads to second year undergraduate studies at the U of M. The web address is www.icmanitoba.ca. A separate application to the International College of Manitoba is required and it can be found at www.icmanitoba.ca. Please note to transfer to an advanced entry program at the University of Manitoba after ICM, students must have completed UTP stage 2, and satisfied their leaving requirements. What do you think about the ICM program |

Is there any school that could accept TOEFL score of 80 with no limitation of band on each session/or that accept a D in GCE English language. |

jnyuwa02: Good retort!! Parent’s wealth can be a tie. Do your parents have a lot of money or assets they can indicate that you stand to inherit? 7.5k paid means nothing to these VOs. Ask for your money back and go for the bsc. ESL conditional admission will not affect your visa, certificate program will affect it because the VOs might consider that you are not serious. BSC is more serious endeavor and puts you in better position to argue that you are serious and want to study in good faith. This will deafeat purpose of visit. What about if I write a SOP and indicate a plan to further to Bsc after the certificate course in Telecommunication. |

Child, wife, aged dependent parents, substantial and lucrative employment in Nigeria, land and other financial assets. The candidate been very promising or bright which compels the conclusion that he could be an asset to the future of Nigeria, can also be a compelling tie. But I am just 18years , admitted to 18 months certificate course in Sask Poly. and paid 7.5k already

Prudento: Don't you think the VO may bring up the issue of Purpose of Visit against you? They may allege that you are just taking what is available to you instead of pursuing a definite goal. True, but they should be fair. I have a 5 years Canadian visitor visa, that expires in 2020. I have been in and out of Canada for the pass 2 years I have never stayed beyond my 6 months to be precise 4 times. I have gone visit my family in Europe once and was there for like 6months where I sat for my TOEFL. Been in US in and out on visitor permit and even completed my GED exams. But regrettable that GED isn't accepted by UofR. Not that taking my time and writing GCE would be issue, but staying back to prepare for GCE for another year is something that scare me. |

Not the ESL, The certificate program in Telecommunication Networking Technician in Saskatchewan polytechnic. I actaully sat for TOEFL but had a score of 86 , but one of them what 19 but they school wanted 20 + in all section. But the polytechnic took me in for the certificate program. |

Canadahelper: To be honest if I were you , I’d try to do GCE or something and pass English and then apply for a 4 year program . Most times so long as you’re 17-19 and applying for a Permit for a bachelors with funding from parents you’ll be approved
In my opinion doing ESL is a waste of money I think I will go ahead with the application. Been away for a while to start preparing for another GCE and another year. I am trying to get a very good sample explanation letter to back my certificate course and with the intention to further my education after that. There are option for advance standing to a Bsc program after that.

Twallace: 18 years? I think you should be going for 4 years B.SC course instead of 18 months program. I actually got conditional admission for 4 -years Bsc in UR. But had to do ESL because I had a D in English. Applying via ESL might be tempting as its just a one semester program. Reading online, show when you apply via ESL yu are only consider for ESL and not your Bsc. And 18 months certificate course looks more better. |
