It is normally said on this thread that it is harder to get a visa when going for an associate degree but I believe you will get your visa as far as you present yourself well to the consular officer.

My resumption day was to be 27th August. flight ticket is quite expensive right now. And I am expecting my Canada visa application, as the US visa was a backup plan for me (Plan B). Plan A is Canada but still waiting for result (its almost 2 months I have been waiting)

Hello House, I have a personal bank statement from Canada my elder brother open when I was visting, however I couldn't get the original, I got a mailed copies from the bank in Canada.

Can I present this at the US embassy ?

Many waited for long agreed, but be sincere on CIC website did you see anything like 22 weeks for study permit processing time? A VO decision on an application can take more than the official processing time on their website. you no specify which one bro that is what am saying.

You are just lucky, you havent seens 22 weeks. Last year around same time it was like 22 for Nigeria and 21 weeks for Ghana. Mine even took more that the 22weeks. I send mail I tire!!!

Put a stop to what? Take a chill pill, I do remember processing time last year at it apex been 22 weeks. Many waited an average of 5 months last year fall to hear of a decision is a fact! Many were backlogged and couldn’t make it in the fall. Reform was needed and it came this year!

Who has information about SEVIS fee payment. I have been able to generate my coupon but can I do the payment online via westernunion myself?

I don't understand this, were you given a visiting visa to visit your relative in US or to sit for the GED exam? From what I know, you're only in US for the purpose of the visa category you were approved. Also, had it been you applied for adjustment of status in US, you would have been directed back to Nigeria just like now.

I remember asking the school, I was on visitor permit and if it will be a problem studying , and the guys said he doesnt think so as the program doesnt require to check your status and its just a three months program for me as I will only attend the last stage

This is very wrong, a deal breaker.

Let say, I got a two year B1/B2 visa sometime in 2016, I visited and left after couple of days. I have been to US like 6 times. The last time was when I attended 3 months classes for GED, wrote the exam and left US before my 2 year visa expired March 2018. Started the GED classes last year December.

When attending an US student visa interview. will it be an issue when you say, you have aunt in the same city you will be attending college and perhaps will be staying with her while studying.

You should never have done that. And you shouldn't disclose you did. You were there to visit. How did you manage to get GED with a visiting visa anyway?

its a 3 months program and your status is not needed to be admitted for a GED program. I just got a letter of invitation to attend the GED graduation.

I had the opportunity to change status, instead I came back to apply from Nigeria. Should that not be a plus?

Another question, if you have an aunt in US is a citizen of US and you plan studying in US, will that be bad for your application

I am planing to schedule a student permit appointment at the US embassy. I got admitted at a community college MDC for associate.

I need help with what kind of issue I might encounter.

I am composing my SOP, but need a clue. How do I explain if I am going for a certificate program for 18months. My plan is to do an engineering certificate program and after the program, then apply to get into university.

The certificate program is to help strenghty me more in Engineering

You GCMS file is missing the officer's note then. You may want to contact the platform you made the request from.

I applied using a friend in Canada, who is the PR. There was 11 notes at the end none was detail with reason.

The last page of the GCMS file usually contain the officer's note on the refusal. Check the file to ensure you have the complete pages. The screen shot here is only the generic reasons for the refusal which was also contained in the correspondence letter issued to you at the time of the refusal.

There was actually no useful information on the notes. I can try collage and upload them. Notes 1- 4 were just Label client enquiry.

And were email I sent when they processing was after 6months

The experts can add but I reckon that trying to switch from a visitors visa to student while in Canada shows the VO that you probably didn't respect the conditions of the visit visa hence the subsequent refusals.

And if the reasons for the previous refusals haven't been addressed, you may be refused again.

I suggest that you request for your GCMS notes from the last refusal (so we don't second guess) then you take it up from there.

I already requested GCMS when i got rejected. there was no detail reasons. The notes also didnt say much just mostly mail threads when I was waiting for my result

Hello Guru in the house, I am trying to complete my SOP of Letter of explanation. I intend detailing out my travel history, but was wondering if it is going to be of harm than good. How should I word it so it doesn't hurt me?

I completed my GCE when I was in SS2 2015 (15 Years old then )and left Nigeria since then. I first tried converting my visitor permit to student in Canada as a minor but was rejected, I had to go outside of Canada t applied. I went to LA to applied got rejected twice and came to Nigeria last year got rejected . Now I am trying to put in a strong SOP for the 5th application.

I have opportunity for a US student permit, but really don't like to study in US (more expensive) and with an elder sister studying in Canada it will save a lot for the family to also study in Canada
