TV/MoviesRe: Funke Akindele Is Africa's Best Actress: What Do You All Think? by omooloye1(f): 4:23pm On Apr 14, 2009
It's amazing how people reason in Nigeria.Nigerian films generally, whether Yoruba or English generally are usually senseless.Ofcourse with the exception of movies written by Tunde Kelani.I watched gold old Thunderbolt and Saworo Ide last weekend,I must confess, I remained glued to my seat to the end.If you say Funke doesnt deserve this award, who else deserves it.I'm sorry not any of these ladies that cannot even interprete their roles properly. There should be no difference between a character and an actor/actress on set. Please don't even mention Stephanie, her fake accent irritates me,they can't just be real arrrgh! always trying to copy Americans. For once, I saw real acting in JENIFA now you all say she doesn't deserve it.Do you think good acting is all about kissing and having sex on set? or is ot about the boobs revealing dresses they wear in films? or is it about the exotic cars paraded or the the beach races of ramsey nouah and genevive or is it stephanie okereke in your so -called English movies.
Funke Akindele, carry go jare. This is an honour well-deserved.Shame on you bad-belle people
CelebritiesRe: Glory Chukwu: The New Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (2009) by omooloye1(f): 12:16pm On Apr 14, 2009
I watched the show on stv.I must confess, it was a sheer waste of time for the real beautiful ones amongst them.methinks the really beautiful ones were purposely selected as miss sera and oguta lake respectively. After those two girls, the only girl that shgould have been crowned was 'miss ogun' the girl in the green gown that almost tripped.she was elegant, beautiful and intelligent but alas, she didnt even make the 1st three. This newly-crowned queen has no business being among the last three.if you watched it, you would agree with me. It's either the judges were sleeping or the whole show was stage-managed.She is just there!

RomanceRe: Who Is A Husband Material? by omooloye1(f): 3:39pm On Feb 05, 2009
@ Sistawoman and Druss,
You guys are the bomb.
I have noticed that most guys on nairaland are insecure, chauvnistic and highly inconsiderete. It's easy for them to point out what we women are not doing right but they have just refused to learn! ARGHH! They know the rite thing but they won't do it,using 'Africanism' as an excuse. They have been so brainwashed thinking African masculinity is all about spreading their legs on the table watching ARSENAL vs Man-U. Your ancestors that you keep alluding to,took care of their wives and pampered them. What is wrong in cooking a meal that you would both eat? You all talk as though a wife were some slave that you must over-work.Who even cares about switching role? We are just saying you should be able to help sometimes! It's not as though you rili feel it's a horrible thing to pound yam, make amala or cook ofe oha or ewedu soup,it's just that you dont know how to do it! My mom tought my brothers how to cook, now that they are in school alone, they dont have to wait for their big sis to do it for them,or spend money on junks that are dangerous to their health.
Crucify me if you like, but the truth is bitter! tongue If you think we are illusioned to be searching for husband material, then you have no moral justification for searching for a wife material. You don't deserve what you can't give. SHIKENA!

Please do not allow anyone to come in between you and your husband. If you love having your friend around, try changing her from being a club girl but if she can't stop clubbing, protect your marriage girl.

FamilyRe: You Are Not A Man Without A Male Child? by omooloye1(f): 11:54am On Jan 21, 2009
I wonder what is special in having a male child. All these people trying to kill their wives because of a male child are just bunch of ingrates. As if they can create a humanbeing.Couples without children will not be so choosy I bet.I feel it's sheer ignorance for a man to blame his wife for not bearing a male child in this age.Havent we seen women Presidents,Senators,Vice-Chancellors,Inventors,Legends, etc abeg! the list is endless

PoliticsRe: Sharia Police Block Women's Rally In Kano by omooloye1(f): 12:18pm On Jan 20, 2009
@ chrisbenogor

Nice talk my brother. We have a lot of rubbish embeded in our constitution.Imagine the provision for archaic cultural laws.A woman recently went to the Police for protection against forced marriage to her deceased husband's elder brother. The poor woman was shocked to hear that the randy brother-in law and his cohorts are protected by the laws of the land. They call such laws customary laws.Imagine that! The whole constitution has to be scrapped. Some power-drunk Governor just constititutes some para-military organisations, sow uniforms for them and empower them to harrass decent and respectble Nigerians.See what LASSMA,LAWMA,KAI and all of them are doing in Lagos. They are so intoxicated with power and unruly.Hisbah my foot! What a national disgrace. They are all objects of tyrrany and oppression.THey remind me of colonial era.

PoliticsRe: Jos Killings How Do We Stop This Madness? by omooloye1(f): 4:22pm On Dec 01, 2008
it pains my heart when people talk of one nigeria.if i may ask, what is oneness where there is no love and tolerance? how can be people be so barbaric? what in god's name is the correlation between 'rigged elections' and religion? can someone please educate our goro-mouthed,cattle-rearing,brothers from the north that they are the bane of our problems in nigeria.if they have a problem, can't they keep it within themselves, must they extend it to sensible people in the south? imagine killing christians because a muslim lost an election.please kindly let me know, what is peaceful about a religion that supports violence and aggresions.they always want to get things through force.my god! they seem to forget the difference between a cow and a humanbeing.bloodshed s morally wrong,no good religion will encourage such.most of these riots are planned on jumaat days, in the mosques.they are even mostly instaigated by their blood-thirsy imams sad sad sad sad sad
