I very much doubt it except it’s those inhabitable houses that will require plenty of refurbishment work Mellady: Just wanted to ask can someone get a nice 3 bedroom house on mortgage in a good location with £30k |

For example: 10 group of friends contributing £1,000 monthly. One person pack the total contribution and use it for down payment of their mortgage. They continue the circle until it goes round Bluetherapy: How does the "ajo/esusu" style works. Wouldn't the repayment/contribution show in the bank statement and potentially affect affordability? |

I have already chosen a side jare and I am PRO mortgage anytime Lexusgs430: Oga, I remember many years ago ...... People advised us never to buy a property (that we should just apply for the council the provide us accommodation)......
That buying a property, was financial slavery........
People should do with our information, how they deem fit........
TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY .........
By the time you refuse to buy, and look back ....... May you be pleased with your decisions.......... |

So you will rather pay 950 rent than pay 500-600 mortgage? phyl123: Stamp duty , solicitors fee and mortgage fees are all lost money if you are keeping the property for lees than 5 years, there is no guarantee that the property will go up in value within 5 years . It also depends on the location of the property. |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by omopapa: 9:16pm On Mar 08, 2022 |
I still disagree cus the value of the property after 5 years will most likely not be the same. The rent you are paying is lost (i.e rent money is dead money ~ oga lexusgs430) phyl123: If you are not going to hang on to the property for more than 5 years, then you are better off renting. Reason being when you add up the stamp duty , solicitors fees, mortgage fees, repairs during ownership etc ..then it might be better off renting. |

I still don’t get people that argue against this point and vote for renting Lexusgs430: Paying rent is, paying your landlord's mortgage/adding to their investment/pension pot
Your would NEVER receive an equity appreciation fund from your landlord, when you leave their property..... |

True that is so if you are in ur 30s or under it is generally cheaper to buy than rent. I see renting as you helping the landlord pay their mortgage Peerielass: It’s not always the case, there are other variables to be considered like the age of the person buying the house, the deposit and the repayment period. For instance if you are a 50 year old male buying a first house, you will only get a 15 year mortgage with a higher monthly repayment compared to a 30 yr old man who has over 35 years of working life remaining and can afford to spread the repayments over 35 years. |

If I get him well he wants a contract wedding that’s symbiotic Viruses: I almost did not want to comment on this but e no let me pass.
In summary...are you asking whether you should marry your girlfriend or you are asking whether you should just look for a girl, wife her and bring her over so that she can work and assist you financially. Which one? What is your objective? |

After everything I have done for you? I brought you to this country. Viruses: From this, it appears you're trying to be proactive about visa extension i.e if you finish your studies and PGW, she will begin her own round of studies and PGW then you become dependant. Instead of marrying someone you don't know, just be doing several masters program and PhD if possible till you complete the 10 years.
If you decide to risk it, you might still get a good wife, just that you might be the problem not the lady because you'll feel entitled. |
