Nairalanders pls help me, I have 2000VA 24V Inverter with 200AH X 2 battery which is 400AH together, I'm not enjoing this inverter and it can't even last 2 hours on 24 inches TV, 1 ceiling fan and 1 bulb. Pls help me what can i do.. Does it means the inverter or battery is not working anymore I bought them July 2014.

It will be an hybrid system, you can still charge with PHCN and Gen.
If your batteries are full overnight (maybe phcn gave you power overnight), then it means when the sun rises, your batteries wont need charging so instead of wasting the solar energy you can put on your inverter and enjoy solar energy for some hours of the day because the batteries are already charged. Especially from 9 to 2pm (on recommended load) then you allow the batteries to regain it's buffer so you can enjoy it at night in case phcn will be holding their power. This is only for the solar charging option not the full solar power option. The option is available because it is unreasonable to always charge your inverter batteries with generator, to me it defeats the purpose of having an inverter. So for those who just don't want to be charging with generator can use solar power for this. Then there are those who really want to use solar power during the day and have their batteries charged against the night.

But for the full 24hrs system you get 24hrs running on the recommended max load. All systems are hybid, so you can use any AC source (phcn and generator) to charge too.

Why Inverters in solar power?

Inverters convert dc(direct current) to ac (alternating current)

Home appliances use AC, but most solar panels produce dc current (just like batteries) there are AC solar panels, but the are far more expensive and tricky to use.

2. Inverters produce the appropriate voltage that the household electronics need. They step up the voltage from the solar panels or batteries to 220V (Nigeria ,Europe) or 120v (USA).

3. They preserve the batteries. They do this by preventing the batteries from being too drained. Batteries will refuse charge when they are too deeply drained frequently. Meaning they become unchargable.

4. Some inverters can charge batteries.

5. Some inverters can help you control your electricity consumption especially in developed countries, where people use grid tied inverters. This means the power company gives you energy credits for the power your inverter returns to them. Some people have succeeded in cutting their bills by half this way. and some are actually making a few bucks from this method. Where instead of getting a bill, they get cheques for their contribution to the power company, using their solar inverters or wind turbines.

@utuphbe: the recommended engine oil for the RX300 according to the manual is the synthetic blend not the semisynthetic variant(milemaster's 5w-30). You might just be frying your engine gradually without knowing it. Even the konga site is silent on the Rx despite recommending the oil for V6 of Camry, Highlander & Solara.
