I sent it to the school direct because my course of choice isn’t under Uni-assist and the school asked me to use a Notary public or german embassy at my home country, Uni-assist should accept your documents if the school specified you to certify with a Notary public.
Just my opinion tho

I sent certification from notary public to uniassist and my documents were positively evaluated...no worries..

Let me tell you how I did mine,

Visit daad.de/en
Select your preferences and load the results.
Get a notebook/jotter, for each school that you see, open it in a new tab, and when you go through the requirements, you'll see the mode of application; whether it's via uni assist, purely online, purely offline or a combination of both.

That's when you can add more schools to your list that do only online applications.

If the deadline is on 15th and you have all the documents complete, and certified if necessary, I'm pretty sure you can apply before deadline.
If it requires online applications, you can do that under 1hour and if you're required to send your documents via post mail, DHL will get it there for you under 4 days. So you still have time.

RUB MS in Economics programme has restricted admission (restricted by GPA). Thus, it's highly competitive. Before applying, ensure you have an extremely high GPA. It could be slightly below 4.4 undergraduate CGPA so as to be on a safer side.

Nb: a high GPA however depends on the average GPA of the applicants in the semester concerned.
