@princekevo, do not be discourage they said at the end of a black tunnel there is light.we ill surely conquer one  day.
We have looked long enough into this very dark tunnel. We don't deserve to be looking into dark tunnels anyway. There is sunshine outside the tunnel. Mind you, beware the light in the tunnel, step aside quickly because u might get crushed. I could be a speeding train.
We all love Nigeria and there is no place like home but my brother, we have had enough!

IBEXY:
Our image is that of a deceiver. The first reaction of other nationals to us is:

"Hey watch out, he's Nigerian. Lock away all the cheque books. Keep an eye on him.".

I know exactly what you mean bruv. Only experience will tell you.
Politics / Re: MEND Declares Ceasefire In Niger Delta by One: 8:29am On Oct 02, 2008
MEND = Urban Terrorists!

simple

What has kidnapping babies and girls got to do with oil money allocation? MEND is riddled with bribery and corruption. Their leaders are too fast to sell the organisation for money and then turn around to fight amongst themselves and splinter into rivalry groups. When there is no money to split, they kidnap innocent people and demand for ransom. What do they use the ransoms for? Women and booze - not for their so called cause of developing the Niger Delta. Who is deceiving who?

Pele played in the times of my grandfather so I never knew him except by reputation. Maradona I know very well. So I will talk on what I know. Between Pele and Maradona, I think its Maradona.

Politics / Re: Some 'Experts' Are Advocating A Two-party System by One: 12:38pm On May 04, 2007
2 party system will greatly limit the people's choices which is what democracy is not about. Even in advanced democratic states like America and Britain, they have more than 2 parties and we are supposed to be learning from them. I don't think 2 parties will suffiently represent the interests of the people.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Happened To Manchester United? by One: 1:10pm On May 03, 2007
What you saw there was superior experience. ManU has got youth and speed but AC showed football is more about experience and strategy. Once Rooney and Ronaldo were caged, finito ! AC had the day. I give it up for Kaka, Gattuso and Seedorf. Magnificient players. Liverpool is in for the match of their lives. I think AC Milan will win.

A lot of talks about "start something" in here. I think it will help this guy and others in here if some elaboration is given on this "something" he is supposed to start. This guy needs ideas. He already knows he needs to start or do something.

Seun:

Hmmm. It's because he stumbled upon an opportunity to make money. $$$ rules, man.

Bill Gates did not stumble on the bright idea that computers meant money by mistake. Like most nerds of his time, he hacked, tinkered and had a passion for the electronics systems of his teenage days. The DOS and Windows idea came long after.
Career / Re: Is A Third Class In Computer Science Useless? by One: 5:37pm On May 02, 2007
What matters in a proffession is the intensity of passion you have for it. Examinations or degrees are not a true test of knowledge especially when it comes to practical proffessions like computer science. A third class is by no means useless even though employers will over look you for a first or second class guy. Definitely, a first class dude in computer is or must be extremely good but a third class also means you completed the course only on a lower rung. What of the guy who has a pass? Is that useless? If you can proove what you can do, it does not matter what you have. I know many guys who dont even have degree and are crack programmers or hardware gurus. Ask Bill Gates what qualifications he's got. That dude dropped out of school but he sure as hell had a burning passion for electronics and computer. That was all it took.

Business / Re: Your First Experience With An ATM Card? by One: 7:43pm On May 01, 2007
A few days ago the ATM near my house "swallowed" my debit card because I forgot to use the right pin number. The most annoying part was that I was not even allowed to retry. Normally there should be at least 2 chances to enter the right pin before eating up the dammed card. Something was different that day. It was around 10pm and I needed cash to get stuff from the local grocery store. I fumed for a while but reconsiderd since it was for my own safety that multiple trials and error pin number entries are not allowed.
Fashion / Re: Being A Plus-sized Model by One: 7:05pm On May 01, 2007
Size zero models have been banned in some countries. They are a bad role model and have made many a young girl develop anorexia and other dangerous eating disorders. I keep wondering how a malnourished woman would model a fine dress better than a full healthy woman.

It would be foolish joining any of them in any more disturbance of the ordinary Nigerian. angry

Romance / Re: How To Toast White Girls In London? by One: 8:19pm On Apr 27, 2007
Who said love exists in London. Just finished a bout of verbal gymnastics downstairs with my neigbor on the issue. Why do our black ladies like money so much. Oyibo girls just want a good time.
Romance / Re: How To Toast White Girls In London? by One: 5:45pm On Apr 27, 2007
Try your luck outside London or some of the predominantly white areas of London. Go to club or pub there. Dress well. Put some cash in your pocket. Wear a nice perfume. No much talking. Just buy a drink and chill. Sit at the bar and smile. It works like magic.
Wetin u mean sef, u no sabi toast woman again?
Romance / Re: How To Toast White Girls In London? by One: 3:15pm On Apr 27, 2007
Go to the clubs mate - especially those outside London. White girls are there (including those of easy virtue wink) looking for people to buy them a drink. You dont even need a great chat up line for that. A smile alone often does the trick. Forget the road and bus stops. Go to the clubs, pubs, galleries, library.
Career / Re: Can You Employ Your GirlFriend? by One: 3:05pm On Apr 27, 2007
Not a good idea at all.
I was once caught between my boss, the girlfriend and his angry wife. A mutual dislike existed between me and the girlfriend because she felt I had too much influence on my oga (we had worked together for more than 3 years before she came along). The wife hated me as much as the girlfriend becasue she taught I should be reporting back to her on my oga's activities and I refused. I must tell you it was a terrible time. My allegiance was with my oga even though I disagreed with what he was doing. This girl was wild. She fought most of the female staff on the slightest excuse. She had nothing really to do. My oga just created a post for her which amounted to, at most, opening and sealing letters once or twice in the morning for the whole day. The climax came when she started insulting customers (especially female). My oga's wife had to come to the office to physically chase her away. That day, I hid in the toilet to avoid the altercation. The other staffs enjoyed and supported the whole action. They had had enough of the girl. To me, the effect the scene will have or had on our business and image is what mattered.

In summary, if you want your business to go down, add your girlfriend to the staff.
Career / Re: What Should I Do Next In My Career? by One: 7:10pm On Apr 25, 2007
I was exactly like you. I used to work in the Project Control Dept of an oil servicing firm when I was in naija although in a lesser capacity. You will not be making a mistake in advancing your career in Proj Mgt. Get training on the use of proj. mgt computer applications like primavera and you will be tops. Better still pursue a course in Proj. Mgt tech. It sure pays.

The present team will soon get worn out or disperse. Mourinho's future at the club is uncertain. I hear rumours about Lampard leaving. Its only a matter of time. What goes up must come down. We've seen more formidable clubs rise and fall.

Business / Re: How Socially Responsible Are Companies In Nigeria? by One: 12:28pm On Apr 18, 2007
There is a limit to what we should expect from "companies" in Nigeria in the name of "Social Responsibility". When you start ascribing repsonsibilities that clearly belong to government to them, I will ask you why they keep having to pay big taxes. If a company has to build schools, construct roads and bridges and then undertake all other community dev. programmes, what then will government do?
Politics / Re: Pat Utomi Did Not Withdraw From The Presidential Race by One: 6:46pm On Apr 17, 2007
The Nigerian political terrain is not for the everyone. Politics involves a great deal of unscrupulous activities. By occupying the position and then resigning at this point, Pat Utomi has effectively denied another prospective contestant a chance of coming out for the presidency. Tell me, did he not know what to expect before embarking? Politics is dirty. Its not a game for "righteous people" as much as leadership is not for the faint hearted.

Investment / Re: Investment: Bank Shares Or A Plot Of Land? by One: 11:58am On Apr 15, 2007
A piece of land is the best option. Its one of the few commodities that never depreciate in value. Its always there no matter what. But be careful you dont buy a land in dispute or get conned. Deal only with authentic and verified sources and get a good lawyer to back you up. Property business is a very good retirement option.

I experimented with writting in my younger days. A good vocabulary is invaluable for every writer. I found this book "Roget's Thesaurus" very useful.
