PoliticsRe: Why Do Some Africans See Merit Based Appointments As Proof of "Domination"? by OneNaira6:
Onlytruth: I have worked in the US for many years; EACH and EVERY job I've ever obtained was after undergoing a stiff screaning process based on such criteria as education, experience, written tests, and oral interviews. None of the jobs was ever given to me based on anything but MERIT. I know about "affirmative action", but the overwhelming majority of jobs here are based on qualification and competence. Often, one finds oneself working with mainly whites and asians; but EVERY black I have worked with here are very competent and very hardworking.

That is the America that I love. That is why things work here. cool

Why is it that in Africa, the moment one cannot beat a competitive recruitment or appointment process, one starts to allege all types of "domination", "marginalization", etc?
Why should laziness be accomodated in any progressive society?

Even more, why should we complain when things don't work, even when we know that the incompetent workers were chosen so as not to trip the wire of "domination" or "marginalization"?

I noticed that those usually "guilty" or on the receiving end of these accusations are usually the hardest working Africans, and you find this same problem in nearly every African country.

How can Africa ever develop with a lazy accussatory culture which envies, (and often) blackmails hardwork, often presenting it as something negative?

Isn't this mindset a form of mental retardation or mental derangment?
What you just wrote is the said reason many Europeans deemed Africans ignorant, unable to lead themselves and unable to succeed. Which daily and sadly, Africans continue to prove them right. Instead to choose the best competent for the best jobs, Africans natural seek someone of "my own" ethnicity, etc. It's a damn shame.

I see I'm talking to a blind 1diot or a wall. Dude just mention adekunle and leave me alone with your 1gnorance, I ain't got time to continue repeating sh1t to you.

I leave this though: read it, analyze it, learn it, drink it and swim in it.

While ethnically Igbo, Asaba was not part of Igbo-dominated Biafra.

dayokanu: Was the Massacre of Asaba before or after the invasion of the Midwest and SW? This is to know which part aggressed first
WAS ASABA PART OF BIAFRA DURING THAT TIME thus whatever Biafra troops "supposedly" do automatically become Asaba problem.

LET ME INFORM YOU Biafrans troops supposedly invaded midwest or SW led by someone of your own ethnicity btw yet ASABA, A NON-BIAFRAN, STILL PART OF NIGERIA AND ITSELF WAS A MID-WESTERN STATE OF NIGERIA GOT ATTACKED BY THE ILLITERATE NIGERIAN TROOPS INSTEAD OF STATES LABELED AS BIAFRA.

What f2king sense do you think you are making? Even your justification attempt itself is very weak.

CyberG: I guess you don't know the facts of the so called "Asaba Genocide", do you? I am quite busy now and no time to go dig-up the published details as far as 1972 of what happened! Nonetheless, if armed assailants enter your house and meets your family at 2 am, what would you do? You have only 2 options co-operate with them or not which is your choice. If you decide not to co-operate and attack their leader, be certain neither he nor his foot soldiers survive your attack because if they do, you know what will happen. They will simply execute every member of your family. That will not be "genocide" but stupidity on your path and that is what happened in Asaba. Go and read the details.
Dude you honestly know how to talk without making a Goddamn sense. Just incase you people try to change history like you've been trying to do for so long let me just bring this out

What happened in Asaba

A little known fact Nigerians try to hide each time" OJUKWU DID NOT DECLARE ASABA AS PART OF BIAFRA AND WAS STILL AT THAT TIME PART OF NIGERIA, HENCE VERY FEW ASABA MEN AND WOMEN WERE PART OF BIAFRAN TROOPS AT THAT SAID TIME THUS ASABA WAS NOT AN ENEMY TO NIGERIA. Infact, Ojukwu left the entire Anioma community, despite being of Igbo heritage, as part of Nigeria due to the fact the Anioma community was not among the community he presided over. Because of that said fact, most Asabians and Anioma were neutral in the beginning of the war. THAT MASSACRE increased Biafran soldiers by tens fold due to the fact many Asaba woked up to reality. Even my own uncle joined Biafran troops because of the said massacre. Trying to f2king change the history isn't going to work this time, at least wait till the people that experienced the act such as parents, grandparents, uncle, aunt, mother, father, etc died out because there are still A WHOLE LOT OF US whose family got affected from that said massacre still living and breathing till this day.

berem: hmm! You are right bro! I seem to wonder what's the similarity between aishatua1 and mukina2.its unfortunate that the tribal hatred has gotten to this level.I feel so ashamed that even Seun has not even made a single comment regarding this issue.he just folds his arms, reads topic/comments and maybe laugh over it.you might have noticed that there are some particular set of people who engage themselves in tribal bigotery.its really a shame I must confess.I will advise Seun to give a stern warning to all tribal bigots.if he doesn't well its up to him.
Incase you weren't aware, Seun is equally involved in the tribalism threads and comments. It's not just mukina2 and aishatua1. All three are involved, so naturally it is of no surprise he's not doing anything.

bashr8: who cares let the hate continue, the sooner our youths and children know we are dont like them and they dont like us the better for everybody, i say split nigeria northerners can have yorubas all to themselves.i have already started using nairaland as references for some naive igbos that think everybody is their friend as long as the person is nigerian.
I somewhat agree with you. I am actually okay with the tribalism because it was this said tribalism from this said website opened my f2king eyes and taught me who and what tribe and community to trust or not trust. Thus I thank them everyday if not, I would have remained a blind human being, milking and sucking up a facade "we are one". It was this said website and watching the conversation, helped me understand what a friend was preaching about in terms of disintegration is better for all of us. Similar to you, if I'm in argument with an ignorant @ss person talking about a facade unity, etc Nigerians have, I quickly, without regret, send he or she to this said website. After doing so, I wait for he or she to come back and inform me of the so called "unity, one nation, one people" bs.

I see about 3 hypocrites on this thread including the op. I find it somewhat comical, the ones that open thread of so called unity and preaching against traiblism on NL are they themselves the beginners of the said act and one time or another got named by a member or so as the biggest offenders. I laugh at the hypocritical attitude.

ACM10: You have a point. But remember that southeast don't fear political domination. It's other regions that harbour such fear.
SE should equally fear political domination. With what's happening in APGA, with the northern APGA member speaking and trying to force the vision of they have for APGA down SE APGA throat despite the political party owned by SE APGA. You guys should equally fear political domination. In my opinion, SE needs to stop seeing everyone as equal, stop trying to piece up Nigeria, stop trying to please everyone and start looking out for their damn self. I cannot believe I am about to say this but others are right. You guys need to learn how Nigeria works, this nation is a do me, I do you country.

I seriously do not get the Igbos on NL sometimes.

Why do ya'll fall for the SAME CRAP by the SAME PERSON over and over again? WTF?

Even after you all have argued with that person before, easily figured who the original id belongs to, known he's fake as it can get instead of making a mental note of this said person. No, few weeks or few months later, the same crap with the same person with the same fake claiming and the same argument STARTS all over again. Why do guys like repeating the same thing? God sake, pay attention to people you all have argued with and figured out. DAMN!!!

I just don't get it. The only possible explanation for this is that you all like arguing.

I am shocked, for the first time in my life I completely disagree with SE. First time for everything. WTF was SE smoking that day to agree on this new law?

Anyway sha, no, This new law would create more controversy and more problems in Nigeria than fixing. If anything, it would not bring the nation closer but it would create more division. Am I the only one that's seeing it? Someone mentioned North domination in the political environment of Nigeria and with this new law, it would decrease their political domination. First of, in what way will it do so? If anything, it would increase their political domination.

No No no No. SE needs to listen to SS and SW.

Now you're just getting ridiculous with your lies. lmfao wtf?

KoboJ never claimed any tribe on NL until during the election when she came out as an Igbo lady. This is getting ridiculous, bye!

You have to admit, Lagos wedding is ideal because most of Lagosians are more open minded to other cultural practices and other ethnicities.
I agree with Kobo, culture like this should be done away with. Like I often say, monarchy in any Nigerian society should be scrapped.
If you believe She's Igbo then you must be a very gullible person. Someone that cannot spell the actual tribe's name and also a person that's ignorant of the culture but act like she knows all. Also someone that wrote the following terms when asked if she's imo or Igbo, instead of answering "yes or no" instead wrote, "But when I choose to discuss issues that relate to Ibos, and Imolites, I get asked what right I have to ?" and " Surprised about what? That I know of issues that also concern women of ibo decent?". On top that all, a person that's well known to insult Igbo people. Yo I must be Latino then and you must believe alj is every ethnicity he's claimed in all his ids and his main id. Why am I even listening to you? weren't you the same person that told me bittenyend is Chino in another id and he's Igbo. Also the same person that claimed Musiwa is not Yoruba, among other stuff. grin LOL. You believe what you want. Like I said NL claiming would not automatically make the claiming a reality thus in my opinion, a very dumb idea to argue with someone that's Ignorant therefore imo, they are all wasting their damn time.

Blue moon: I would like Nigeria to divide into two not five. Still don't understand the need for Niger delta and west division. Middle belt will choose which side they want to stay on but they'll most likely choose the south cos most of them are Christians. The southern part would be a mixture of Christians, non-extremist Muslims and whatever peaceful religion there is. then the extremist Muslims can have their own country. That's my opinion sha
You people need to stop this. There is no such thing, a very NON-EXISTING, thing as west and niger-delta connection. Wtf? Is it because of oil? Haba leave delta be jor. Let ppl choose their destination. I don't want to join west, my ppl would not join west. I can not speak for others but using their conversation on NL. I can naturally tell you the urhobo don't want to join west. The ijaw do not want to join west. The edo wants to be by themselves. The actual iteskiri, not the wannabe, on NL do not want to join west. Stop forcing it on us.

Still don't know why some igbos are fighting this. If someone is making ridiculous claim about your culture and you correct them yet they continue to speak they know more than you while at the same time getting angry at you for also making ridiculous claim about their culture then leave them be. Their intention is VERY clear. Like i always say, the claim in NL would not automatically become a reality. Leave ppl with their Ignorance, after all, they say Ignorance is bliss. Dude take pride in yourself. Pick a tribe and stick with it in all your ids. Are you yoruba, ibibio, igbo, urhobo or iteskiri?. Pick an ethnicity and stick to it in all your ids. Noone ever claimed itesiri are igbo NEVER. Stop trying to make connection 2 something that has 0 connection. Stop logging in and out with all your ids to speak for all region in nd despite being ignorant and last but not least, stop trying to subconsciously create a VERY unrealistic truth. As i told your other brother, delta would not join odua republic NEVER. Similar to biafra war and the mid-western creation, everyone would make a decision and choose were they would go. Last advice:
Stick with one tribe, one id, one state and one community.

Btw: just because you stopped using an id to make controversy statement, does not mean people have FORGOTTEN the id when you bring it back up. Just saying
PoliticsRe: Picture Of Nigeria Divided: Is This The Future? by OneNaira6: 1:54pm On Aug 18, 2012
safarigirl: on the contrary, Akwa-ibom would most likely end up in Biafra, they're closer to the East, especially the Anang. Akwa-Ibom and Delta state will be for Biafra, cos they mostly inter-marry with the Ibo, especially Abia, 7 in 10 families from these states marry with the Igbos.
It would be divided in terms of biafra or nd republic. Some would stick with nd while others would stick with biafra

I understand Ikedife is an elder and I understand he wants the best for Igbo but what is with him and the nigerian presidency obsession? Why is it he's the only one clamoring for it? Is this his way of announcing he would run or gini? None of the other Igbo politicians wants it, he should leave them be. Jeez!!! There are some stuff he said in the interview, I agree wholeheartedly with but still people are clamoring for something different and he's disturbing them with presidency. If he cares so much for Igbo, then seek out Igbo governors and advise them on how to develop their state higher than what they've done so far. Attack the ones that aren't performing, praise the ones that are and force them to do more, force them to build seaports and airports in their state, do something proactive instead of him clamoring for presidency.

There are some similarities between the song which are the beginning of it and the term "girl I come see by your side", other than that everything else about flavour song is original. Listen to the Ghana song, most of it is in their language. Flavour owns them a small portion of his income from the song for the use of the word and the beginning beat but he did not steal their song.

I agree men do what women accuse them of. We do, no denying it, but the double standard needs to end. Women should also be held accountable for the same act. The police need to stop siding with women all the time because their are alot of males in jail for some ish they did not do and there are alot of guilty women walking around free for ish they did do.

Epalos: Just tell me you been crying cos there is nothing funny there, well since you don't know difference between food and p.o.o., you might find it funny. you ibos would rather die than be honest, you claim we see you as boogeyman and I said you are reaching over your head cos the smallest Yoruba can never see you as that, you don't count to us in anyway, you are just there like the other 200 tribes. going in circle has become part of you, talking to you is like yell at the wall, you really need to get on a medication as soon as possible cos i wonder how you function on day to day issues, ibos talking grin grin, you are burning with anger cos you are ibo, and would wish not to come back into the world as ibo again, every thread that is open is quickly turned into yoruba bashing, why, cos we keep you guys up at night, you sleep and wake up with yoruba on your mind, who did this to you, why are you this obsessed with us yoruba
Sorry dude, I AM LAUGHING. Sorry to break that sh1t to you. You're ignorant and proud of that hence the laugh. You are stupid and proud of it hence the laugh and despite all your attempt to insult me and make me "cry", it ain't working instead it is actually doing the opposite hence the laugh. Let me put it square to you and let me capitalize it since your brain is in-accurate enough to understand quotation as emphasis: YOU ARE A JOKE therefore it resulted to I LAUGHING. Don't know why it dey pain you that i'm laughing but whatever. As for the Yoruba not seeing Igbo, well let me clue you in: The same thing for Igbos hence the reason many do not follow you people around on this website like you people do to us. If there is ever an argument between Igbo and any other group on this website, unlike you people, we do not go around shouting "yoruba, yoruba", we actually face the person and the tribe head on. To put in summary and let me capitalize it for emphasis since you don't understand the emphasis words. NO IGBO CARE NOR WORRY THEMSELVES OVER YORUBA. DESPITE ALL YOUR PEOPLE'S DESPERATION FOR US TO SEE YOU, WE DO NOT. We careless about your people hence the reason no Igbo gets involved with any form of discussion about a yoruba cities, yoruba development, etc on this website until your people call our ethnic names like always; also the same reason why whenever two yoruba communities are fighting, Igbo people do not involve themselves in the conversation. Ironically enough, that is a huge opposite for you people. Sorry to break it to you, how Yoruba see Igbo is as IRRELEVANT as it gets to Igbo people and If I die today and reborn again, I would kill myself all over again if I was born anything but Igbo. The big huge highest FACT of them all. But like I said before, you are entitled to tell yourself otherwise, as long as it helps you ease the pain. with all that being said, to bring it all back to the beginning "despite all your attempt to get at me and at other Igbos, all you are doing is creating pure comedy hence the laugh". Notice, none of them is paying mind to you right and the only one doing so is LAUGHING AT YOU. We don't see you, you don't see us. You see us as inferior, we see you as inferior. Why it dey worry you and your people more so than us? ROFLMFAOOOO.

oh one more thing: let's recap. You jumped in shouting about delta igbo this and that and I came to defend my community, you started talking about our history and I told you to go pick up a book and read about my people. You then moved onto how Igbos are hated by everyone and I told you the truth using a website owned by your own people and how your people are viewed if we go by what's happening on this site. Then you moved on to I wish to be you and you are superior and Igbo envy yoruba and other bs and I laughed. Now you are forcing the "i wish to be you" and "how Igbos want to be yoruba" down my throat and I'm still laughing and yet again telling you the truth. With all the recap of our interaction, pray tell between you and I "who is obsessed and worrying themselves over the ethnicity of the other". Read the recap again and again, the answer would appear for you and incase you still don't get it, a hint "all my replies are reflections of your comment". grin

Abi ooo!!! They continue to scream for women right, equality for the gender, etc but right now, women are held higher and have more advantage than men in the western world yet they continue to scream "women equality, women right, etc". Even in the working environment, women are quick to accuse a man especially their boss for s3xual harassment if they aren't getting their way. When a man does it, his report would magically turn into sour grapes, people might even ridiculed, etc. Women have more advantage and that is the sad fact.
