gboss4sure: Dis yoruoba and hausa guys are so freakin funny. Talk about Igbos in Nigeria they will form and form say igbo people do this do dat and they don't matter in Nigeria.

Now we are talking of leaving Nigeria and they are busy killing themselves to make sure we don't leave. Hahahahahahaha. We must leave wether una like am or not. I was expecting to see comments that will be wishing us success in our bid to leave Nigeria but what am seeing are people crying and trying to talk out of our BID. But we say NO, we posses the IGBO SPIRIT, The spirit of never giving up. We have never given up for once in any of our quest.
I wonder sha. Like I said so many times on NL, the Igbo on NL pay way too much mind in sh1t that should be ignored. Shikena

In as much I've prayed and begged God to make Biafra a reality and I am thankful to Jehovah for actually putting a foot towards the right direction finally but the group need to do this the right way meaning bring out every Igbo man, woman, children, etc to validate their support, head to the UN show this validation and also get an unbreakable support from the world powers (judging from what is going in Nigeria and how pretty much all nation hates Nigeria, that should be fairly easy), go out and get as many support from other African nations (similar situation to UN, the hate will make their support fairly easy but Africans are greedy so a pledge of support to each African nation should be done or promise a tremendous gift in the future or anything to satisfy their greediness), get a referendum to minority in each eastern states to decide which one or the other will support, if not, leave them. Most Igbo that do seek for Biafra now-a-days actually seek for an Only Igbo state so either way, it is good. Find a way to include Ohaneze in the group, Ohaneze can reach places they cannot due to having more popularity than them. Get rid of all Igbo politicians we have representing us now-a-days, lock them up, rehabilitate them, do whatever but their corruption shouldn't touch a foot during the building and or declaration of the new nation. Instead of bluntly declaring Biafra in few months, the above needs to be done first. They should do it right the second time around which should be fairly easy

Lastly, do not forget Asaba or anyother Anioma group. I can only speak for myself but knowing Asaba as I know it, I'm very confident that the community will pretty much repeat what I'm about to say which is we support una and we stand alongside una, don't forget us.

pleep: If i ever got a tatoo if would be a Nsibidi letter.

This post got me thinking, Nsibidi would have been a good national alphabet for a S.E Nigerian state. I was previously unaware that it had any connection to the Igbo language, but if it is something common to all the tribes of the S.E it could have been a good unifying agent.
Wouldn't it be simply Eastern as oppose to South Eastern?

As for the later, it was a unifying agent and it would have continued to be a unifying agent if many did not forget about it due to Colonization.

nagoma: Igbo armed robbers invaded our estate and killed two men and robbed us of our properties , will you recommend an end to all Igbo's ? Why can't NL separate crimes and criminals from tribes and communities? we are complicating matters and the GEJ government will continue in it's downward spiral until crimes are considered as crimes and the criminals pursued and punished as criminals - not as Fulani herdsmen, not as PDP funders, not as PDP reps, not as a Muslim Sect not as Igbos but as criminals who acted contrary to Nigerian laws.
The northern need to stop dragging Igbo anytime there people commit a huge atrocity. The days of blaming Igbo are long gone and ain't coming back. There is no correlation between an Igbo armed robber and a Fulani herdsmen that attack and killed so many people in less than a week. An Igbo armed robber will commit atrocity that is true but how many Igbo armed robbers have we've heard that went on a killing spree, murdering and attacking innocent bystanders for no reason whatsoever or attacking and killing different people in different states in less than a f2king week. No group in Nigeria , criminals or not, have done as much killing as Hausa/Fulanis have done. If we compare 2 months to a year meaning if we calculate the amount of the dead in just 2 months caused by core north to the amount of the dead in a year caused by Mend, Bakassi Boys, armed robbers of all ethnicity, kidnappers, etc combined, the answer would come out the former tripling that of the later.

PointB: With the benefit of hindsight, it appears to observers that Gowon has been screwed; he has been scammed! Certainly this wasn't the One Nigeria he fought for! A Nigeria where 'victors' are unable to live in peace among themselves despite sharing war loots and national cake among themselves. A Nigeria where the weak (children, women, and aged) are slaughtered by night, and the strong (men, and leaders) fell in broad day light, is far from Gowon's aspiration!

Where is Gowon? And when will he find his voice? Is he waiting for a full scale civil war between Berom and Fulani, so that he could crawl out of his hole and declare a 'No victor, no vanquished'?

Gowon's leadership is needed right about now! He needs to explain to his people why he led them to wilderness and into slaughter house; he needs to reassure them that Fulani are partners in one Nigeria, and that he led the aright!

If he cannot find the voice for this, then Gowon and his cohorts must reassess the relationship between the core north and middle belt with the aim or repositioning the middle belt in the right place and corner in the Nigeria equation. While this is going on, Kwara, Kogi, and Benue State must be vigilante, as the are all of the frontline territory of the herdsmen insurgency. Those who chose this quagmire, must ultimately rise to the challenge of quenching the glowing amber. It's conflagration, has the potential to draw in the all-comer. The Jihadist movement is a relentless one. Gowon, it's time to crawl out of your hole. Your people need you now more than ever!
Agreed. He need to come out of hiding, if there is ever a time his presence is needed, it is right now.

The bolded had me cracking up. The funniest thing about that dayokanu dude is the adekunle mention each time. It is as if this man is sleeping with adekunle or something. You people acknowledge him and I no sabi why. He's like Musiwa part two. The funny thing is he honestly think people are scared or were scared of adekunle or "black scorpion" as they call him yet very few Igbo even knew who he was. I barely knew who he was, I learned about him on this website and I'm the only one in my entire family that knows him, ironically both my parents and grandmother experienced Biafra War. grin grin grin Going by this website, the few Igbo that do know him, knows him by his interview and the words he couldn't back up when he finally reached Biafra and not his fighting skills. Sometimes I wonder is the guy he mentions all the time not the same adekunle that was demoted simply because he lost every battle he fought in. Is that not the same guy or maybe there is a different adekunle grin grin grin. Una have time sha paying mind to the dude. I find the Dayokanu character laughable and a dullard and I don't understand why noone else does.

So far, I'm enjoying everything else written on this thread, great job PointB and other therefore I would like to pledge my support to the movement. After reading the disagreement of the naming, the only person I agreed with the most (afam4eva) was shut down and everybody voted against his opinion, I lost interest in the whole charade going on. Though I believe the name should follow Afam4eva and metalgoog suggestion, I guess it just best to accept what's giving.

Anyway, I'm still lost on how far of a scope this movement would reach; is it something that would impact just Igbo people of no connection to the government or is it a movement meant to provide suggestions to the movement of Igbo land, a movement that is equivalent to ohaneze. If it is later, I propose a suggestion that I've been thinking about for a very long time. It is actually in different to the movement therefore I do apologize for going ahead, I understand you are still trying to lay rules of the movement thus still in the beginning but I do want to say this before I completely forget to inform others like I usually do. I believe leaders from Igbo land should be allowed to lead any state in Igbo land despite not being from that area meaning someone from Anambra can rule Enugu, someone from Imo can rule Anambra, etc. etc. without persecution from indigenous nor politicians from those states. Let me just give my explanation for this suggestion well we continue to get ignorant, lazy, good for nothing leaders ruling each state in Igbo land all because it is there state of origin while great leaders like Soludo, Pat utomi, etc. that have the ability to impact Igbo land greatly are kept out all because they lost the governorship of their actual state of origin. Instead of clamoring for regionalism, why can't we just bring regionalism to Igbo land even if other parts of Nigeria are not doing so?

Malawian: exactly! Igbos being light skinned might be a product of recessive genes. We trace our ancestry to a certain ERI (at least' anambra igbos. Imo igbos like the aros trace theirs to a certain ARODI. Both eri and arodi are brothers and sons of a certain GAD. Gad is one of the sons of jacob(israel) Through leah's handmaid biliah. Now jacob is shemite (white), But biliah's ethnicity is not known. She very well could be a hammite(black) as blacks were more likely to have been a handmaid! If this analogy is correct, then it is safe to say the reason for igbo lightskinnes is as a result of jacobs recessive genes as black genes are medically dorminant!

ChinenyeN: Too many assumptions in your post for me to even begin with. It'll just be easier for me to allow you to continue to assume them all. Continue assuming that I care about the political dynamics or the identity issues between "SE" and "Delta" Igbo. Even, continue assuming that I somehow think of myself as "more Igbo" than you, or even "real Igbo". Ochi lei, i go die.

Lol, just continue to include me in that your "una". I no longer mind. Things will just be easier that way.
dude I don't need to assume, You can try to track back all you want but your post speaks for itself.

Is this not your words?

Don't play dumb. It's not a difficult concept to grasp, and it's certainly not an insult. You're Delta state, so you're technically not Igbo. Someone else like me for example, who by design is Abia state, is technically Igbo. That's simply the way things are. So it shouldn't come as such a surprise to you that your family apparently has land in places where Igbo supposedly "can't".
Care to explain how an Igbo from Abia state makes the said person "Technically Igbo" while an Igbo from Delta states makes that said person "technically not Igbo"

First of all it is an insult; if you weren't aware of it, you aware of it now.

Your post, is it not real vs. fake Igbo bs? why yes it is.
Are you not saying someone from Abia state have the right to be classified as "igbo" as oppose to someone from delta state? Yeah you are
Are you not saying being from delta state somehow emits our Igboness or whatever you might call it? Yes you are
Are you not saying Delta Igbo are treated differently from SE Igbo? Yes you are

No I'm not assuming, you said it all.

ChinenyeN: Don't include me in that your "una". That dynamic has nothing to do with me. My only thing here is that I just didn't get why you would actually need an explanation for how your family has land where Igbo supposedly "can't", as if you didn't already know.
Yes I would need an explanation since the accusation is against ALL IGBOS, it did not single out SE. My family and any-other Anioma is as Igbo as you whether you like it or not. Judging from the anger emitting from your post, it would seem you dislike delta Igbo claiming the community and trying to connect to SE igbos so chinenyeN you are part of the "una". There is nothing written anywhere that states since you are from Abia state, somehow you have more authority and right to claim Igbo than I neither is written anywhere that SE Igbo are the only true Igbos.

Sisi_Kill: Dude, your first link PROVES our point!!

TO WHOM AM I CLEAVING?

The fact that the words WHOM AM I is arranged in the same way you arranged yours does not mean they have the same meaning. The person or thing at the receiving end of the action (cleaving) is the object, therefore WHOM is correct. . . Gah! I am trying to explain without having to use whom to prove whom

Aiight, Here's an article I hope will put this whole nonsense to rest!

Who" or "Whom"?

So here we go. The words "who" and "whom" are both pronouns. I'll have a quick and dirty trick for you later, but first I want you to actually understand the right way to use these words.

First, to know whether to use "who" or "whom," we need to talk about the difference between subjects and objects because you use "who" when you are referring to the subject of a clause and "whom" when you are referring to the object of a clause.

I know: subject and object sound pretty abstract, but it's easy. If we think about people, the subject of the sentence is the person doing something, and the object of the sentence is having something done to them. If I step on Squiggly, then I am the subject and Squiggly is the object.

Still having a hard time remembering? Here's my favorite mnemonic: If I say, "I love you," you are the object of my affection, and you is also the object of the sentence (because I am loving you, making me the subject and you the object). How's that? I love you. You are the object of my affection and my sentence. It's like a Valentine's Day card and grammar mnemonic all rolled into one.

Just "Whom"

I love you. You are the object of my affection and my sentence. It's like a Valentine's Day card and grammar mnemonic all rolled into one.

OK. So you all asked about "who" versus "whom," but what I think you really want to know is just when to use "whom," because most people don't go around throwing unneeded "whoms" into their sentences. So remember, you use "whom" when you are referring to the object of a sentence. Use "who" when you are referring to the subject of a sentence.

For example, it is "Whom did you step on?" if you are trying to figure out that I had squished Squiggly. Similarly, it would be "Whom do I love?" because you are asking about the object -- the target of my love. I know, it's shocking, but the Rolling Stones were being grammatically incorrect when they belted out the song "Who Do You Love?" which I think was originally written by Bo Diddle

Just "Who"

So when is it OK to use "who"? If you were asking about the subject of these sentences, then you would use "who." For example, "Who loves you?" and "Who stepped on Squiggly?" In both these cases the one you are asking about is the subject -- the one taking action, not the one being acted upon.

A Quick and Dirty Tip

Still too hard to remember? OK, here's the quick and dirty tip. Like "whom," the pronoun "him" ends with "m." When you're trying to decide whether to use "who" or "whom," ask yourself if the answer to the question would be "he" or "him."

That's the trick: if you can answer the question being asked with "him," then use "whom," and it's easy to remember because they both end with "m." For example, if you're trying to ask, "Who (or whom) do you love?" The answer would be "I love him." "Him" ends with an "m," so you know to use "whom."

But if you are trying to ask, "Who (or whom) stepped on Squiggly?" the answer would be "He stepped on Squiggly." There's no "m," so you know to use "who."

So that's the quick and dirty trick: if you can't remember that you use "whom" when you are referring to the object of the sentence, just remember that "him" equals "whom."
