The war in Sudan is supposed to be a mere disagreement between two generals. But the nature and the intensity of the conflict betrays this belief. Just in about a week of fighting, close to 2000 are dead, heavier than normal explosives have detonated and unusual global media attention have been generated by it. What can possibly account for this? As war rages in Ukraine over it's proposed NATO membership and the west takes in more Russian neighbors into its NATO fold, Russia seems to be responding them in African, thus making the continent a new cold war Theatre. Recall the French have been sacked in Burkina Faso by a pro Russian military junta. Mali's military also sent the French parking from the country and instead, invited the Russian machinery group wangner to aid their ten years anti insurgency campaign. Similarly, south Africa holds naval drill with Russian and Chinese navy. This is Africa's most industrialised economy. They have moved closer to Russia since the invasion of Ukraine. Back to Sudan, Sudan's regime in February okayed an agreement that would see Russia establish and naval base in the red sea and in exchange arm Sudanese military. The agreement even permits them to keep nuclear warships in the base. The agreement would be ratified when a democratic government in put in place. However a sudden disagreement has degeneration into a fighting between the army and its RFF partners. The militia had cooperated with the army to oust Al Bashir and has worked with them under an agreement. It's leader is pro Russian and a presidential hopeful. Now, CNN is alleging that Wagner is backing the group with arms. It is becoming clear that the Western and Russian/China cold war is creating an African frontier. Is Nigeria Prepared for this? A country as "cracked" as Nigeria is most vulnerable in situations like this. According to the grapevine, there seems to be a sort of communication already between a separatist group and Russia. I only heard but unconfirmed. If true, things will rapidly change course in the country. |
When you are in a pit, stop digging! As far the constitution of Nigeria is concerned lagos is a no mans land to all Nigerians as well as everywhere else to all Nigerians. There is no basis whatsoever for a non native lagosian to harass another non native lagosian on the basis of ethnicity If a law is passed today to allow only lagos natives to become governors in Lagos, the only people that will kick against it are the political rascals from neighboring states and not Igbos. Who then is making lagos a no- man's -land? |
Eye catching. Though the pieces okro in the second pix are bigger than usual. |
smh |
You have nothing to prove 'total accredited voters' clearly says 152 which tallies with the result |
interesting |
I thought as much. This is a constitutional issue not a tribunal issue. More states should join too. Although the issue of not securing 1/4 in Abuja would have made more sense in the supreme court, i didn't see it here. |
Was it the state governors that conducted the election? |
Enskynelson: It is the constitution that dictates not lawmakers |
aren't these guys the ones APC were celebrating their photograph with Tinubu? |
Bobmaintain:Pls you are the one creating the confusion. the constitution is clear about 2/3 of the state and the FCT. If you are instructed in an exam to " answer question 1 and any other 3 questions" will you dare replace question 1 with another question? you will simply loose the total mark of the compulsory question. |
ElSudani:Tell me what you know |
ElSudani:Are you not aware that he did not meet the constitutional requirement in FCT? |
CoronaVirusRelo:Better go and find out why june 12 was annulled. |

dahmie2013:some of you apparently don't know what stay of execution entails |
Malami has forgotten he does not enjoy immunity like the pesident and can be prosecuted in office. You would expect an attorney general to know better. As these statements suggest, a court can order his arrest for contempt. |
and which responsible guy will post a decent conversation online? when the lady turned you down three years ago, did she make it public? |
Armaggedon:Thought she is from Edo. Is she Igbo? |
Tflex01:she didn't mention it. she mentioned the subject teacher. |
DeLaRue:He is still overwhelmed by his illusory control of Rivers state. He has no strong governor under his control. The few he has can't influence their state to vote against PDP just like himself. Joining apc out of his usual arrogance won't change result for pdp but will rather complicate things for him. |
ItsTutsi:Rivers is a PDP state. wike needs pdp more than they need him. He should continue fooling around. |
obiekunie01:continue fooling yourself |
Or he is the owner? |
illydeco:sorry, can't find it again. |
multiply the two numbers below and from the result, subtract the addition of the same two numbers, the result is the number above. example 9X4=36 36-13=23 |
seunmsg:The FG gives albeit secretly The national assembly gives hence the delegation You probably give too |
matrixme:Which ever way you look at it, He was arrested as a senior figure in Nigeria government not southeast government. He traveled with Nigerian and not southeast passport. Even among the Igbos, he can be used to show how bad example one nigerianist Igbos are and be used to promote Biafra. Even the FG knows it sets a bad precedence, so let's not pretend otherwise. |
A lot of people have not be observing Ekweremmadu's case carefully and the last may not have been heard about it. Let me begin from the Genesis. Nnamdi Kanu a British national and Biafran activist, was branded a terrorist, an action the UK and the rest of the international community do not recognise. In june 2021, he was taken from a country Nigeria has refused to disclose, but Kenya and UK have both denied consent and instead acknowledged his arrest as illegal. He has been on trial since then allegedly under inhuman conditions. There have been questions and pressure from the UK to Nigeria to disclose the nature of his arrest to no avail. Infact, it became so serious that the Bristish PM had to confront Buhari over it in Rwanda and Buhari had the audacity to tell him Kanu will not be granted bail. Calls for a political solution over the issue have also been rebuffed. Similarly, Fifth term senator and former deputy senate president Ike Ekweremmadu was arrested in the UK over allegations of organ harvesting. Before we knew about, he was already in court and DENIED BAIL. News of his arrest quickly spread in the British media and globally. A quick investigation from relevant agencies' database shows the boy is infact 21 and not a minor. The Nigerian immigration service has also officially defended the passport. Infact, it has been revealed Ekweremmadu duly notified the high commission about the donors travel. So why is UK pressing ahead with the case? The normal UK government i know would not even have charged him to court and subject him and the country to such embarrassment if they do not have something in mind. The FG may have smelt the coffee and have been following up the matter secretly. The matter is not serious enough to warrant effort the UK government is putting. On the other hand, If they pursue it diligently, Ekweremmadu won't likely go free because no Nigerian politician is innocent. Now that the senate is speaking of sending delegation to UK and using diplomatic pressure to release him (which is a political solution), Do you think the UK will yield to that without securing the release of their citizen (Nnamdi Kanu) who is also being held in Nigeria? is Nigeria willing to bear the embarrassment of ekweremmadu's trial? |
Nigeria's dark secret. |
Aljazeera is trying in this regard |
You won't see this in the mainstream Western media. |
