I agree with the bit about low self esteem, more often than not, the partner will strip you of your identity, cut you off from people who care about you and those who are strong enough to convince you to leave. Then they'll turn around and make you feel like they're the only ones who love you cos they stayed with you even when you looked wretched, forgetting it was them who made you that way. When you get to this point, it's difficult to go back to those same people you cut off to ask for help.

People sometimes stay for the benefit the relationship accords them, but you can almost always tell the difference.

the number 1 cause that causes a marriage to break is infidelity not money.there are average and even below average married couples still living together
their are okada men,shoemakers with wives and kids.as they hustling outside their wives are also hustling.if there is love ,compassion and understanding b/w couples the marriage go survive.the only time money becomes an issue is if the woman married the man 4 his money.

Don't mind her, shouting I've been married for long, people need to understand that because they've been doing something for a while doesn't mean it's the right way. Secondly couples aren't the same, what works for hubby and I wouldn't necessarily work for other people. When I give people any form of advice, I always attach a disclaimer.

It's just a birthday. My dad forgets my birthday every year but it doesn't mean he loves me any less, it's turned into a game in the family where we report to each other how long it takes him to remember.

Did you ever tell her that you don't really care about celebrating your birthday? Sometimes when we show the people getting to know us how we feel about certain things (like saying your birthday isn't that special) then those people pick up on the vibe and treat it as any other day. Maybe you need to tell her it hurt and see what she does next year or when another important event comes up.

Funny thing is my hubby and I talk about all the things you mentioned, with varying degrees of knowledge, I know more about some things than he does and vice versa, so we both keep on learning. It's good fun.
