You talk carelessly. How did you feel when writing this trash? Do you think without the protest we will not be paid? Kindly learn to mind your business and move on. You didn't go but you made yourself a judge to sit over comments here, pls change your ways. Whether we protest or not, promotion letter will be issued, it could have delayed but we must get it. Do you think is possible for all teachers to join the protest? Let me tell you, if it turned out bad....na Rivers State teachers and now it has turned out good,...na still Rivers State teachers. THIS FALES ACCUSATIONS OF FIGHTING THE GOVERNMENT MADE THE GOVERNOR TO INVITE THE NUT CHAIRMAN AND HIS EXCOS TO THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE FOR A MEETING.

ON HEARING THIS, WE SENT ALL OUR PROTEST LETTERS AND PETITION TO THE GOVERNOR, COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION,SSG, CHIEF OF STAFF AND SA TO GOVERNOR ON INTER GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS.
WHILE STILL AT DIOBU MONITORING EVENTS, THE DSS TRACKED ADONYE NUMBER AND TOOK HIM AWAY. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME, SO WE SECRETLY SENT TEXT TO MADAM FLORENCE OGWUTUM WHO DROVE TO MEET US AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE GATE, SHOUTING WE ARE TEACHERS, THEN WE FINALLY GOT FAVOUR FROM THE GOVERNOR AND LEFT THE DSS SECURITY POST AND ENTERED THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

ON REACHING THERE, THE NUT CHAIRMAN WAS CALLED TO I IDENTIFY US BUT HE DENIED US THAT WE ARE NOT HIS TEACHERS, WE TOLD HIM THAT YOU DONT KNOW US BUT YOU ARE DEDUCTING OUR MONEY. BEFORE THE DSS TOOK US IN TO THE GOVERNOR'S CONFERENCE HALL

*MEETING WITH THE GOVERNOR*

THE GOVERNOR CAME TO THE MEETING WITH THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR, CHIEF OF STAFF, .HEAD OF SERVICE,COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION, AND PDP STATE CHAIRMAN.

WE STATED OUR POINTS BASED ON OUR DEMANDS AS IS IN OUR STRUGGLE AND THE NUT CHAIRMAN STATED HIS DEFENSE.

*RESOLUTION/ GOVERNOR'S DIRECTIVE*

1. THE GOVERNOR INSTRUCTED THAT ALL DEDUCTIONS ON THE BUILDING BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY.

2. THE GOVERNOR, INSTRUCTED THE HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE DR. GEORGE NWEKE AND THE COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION TO CALL THE TWO BODIES, (NUT AND US) TO RESOLVE ALL ISSUES.

3. THE GOVERNOR INSTRUCTED THAT THE COST OF THE REMAINING BUILDING BE SENT TO HIM , THAT HE WILL COMPLETE THE BUILDING.

4. THE GOVERNOR INFORMED US THAT THE PROMOTION OF UBE HAS BEEN APPROVED AND WILL BE IMPLEMENTED. BUT THAT OF SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IS ON HOLD DUE TO NO CONSTITUTED BOARD, BUT THAT HE WILL CONSTITUTE THE BOARD NEXT WEEK SO AS TO CONCLUDE THEIR PROMOTION.

Having made all necessary provisions, both police , security and media, the state NUT accused us of trying to gather to protest to government house against our non promotion and implementation.

The governor summoned the state NUT to government house today, and advised we cancel that meeting as they intend to dialogue and settle the issues.
Next line of action will be communicated as soon as possible.

I don't understand why the Governor will be observing amount involved by wasting the whole time in the world when one can also know the amount by knowing the total number of workers and their respective new level calculated before the payment starts instead of paying some and leaving some behind all in the name of GOVERNOR OBSERVING AMOUNT INVOLVED. I doubt this information in its totality ,,, because it has never happened in the history of promotion of workers by promoting some and leaving some behind, unless it will start from this Government.

Your own is to doubt the information others provided, If I have told you otherwise, I guess you will believe it. Well, kindly go to board headquarters and find out. Spend your money and go to board headquarters and update us too.

Update on promotion

Today Monday, I was at the State Board headquarters at DLine. I heard the ogaz there have collected letter of promotion but the lower cadres in the same Board has not collected. I was reliably informed that out of the over 6,000 staff strength of sssb and ube, about 800 are going to level 16 from previous level of 12$13 respectively. That the governor is doing the implementations in batches as earlier stated here by others too. Yes, he is paying promotion arrears too. That he claimed, he is observing the amount involved as to know the financial strength of the state. They said, sssb, UBE and ministry of health has the highest financial amount from the state.

But based on the informations I pointed out and the ones I have not stated. Kindly remove your mind on promotion letter for now.
Like I will always tell us, yes God's favour and grace is available to all, and nothing is impossible with God.

For now, nothing new is happening at the board. So let's move on.

Pls for now, let nobody come here to tell us anything again about what someone told him or her about paying us our promotion. The government, you and the person that told you has so far failed us. Even some that doesn't have source, them go still tell us. Enough is enough. One day government will pay us. Let's concentrate on the letter now, since is obvious that without it we can't be paid.

My humble advice for those who want to protest, pls be careful how you people go about this plan. Government may misunderstood your plans and tag it sponsored protest from the opposition party. They are paying us and things are hard like this, imagine if the salary isn't coming how it will be. Pls we have not died for more than 10 years and we will not also die now. So before you embark on this kind of protest ensure you have considered all options available to you. FOR ME...I NO JOIN ANY PROTEST AND CAN NEVER PROTEST IN NIGERIA. GOV. FUBARA CLEARS THE AIR ON CANCELLED IAUE EMPLOYMENT PROCESS

...Restates commitment to youth development

Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara,GSSRS has cleared the air on the decision of the Rivers State Government to cancel the recent employment at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education saying it was as a result of the glaring irregularities associated with the process.

Governor Fubara gave the explanation and cleared the air on the issue at Government House Port Harcourt, while addressing the Rivers State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, who were on a courtesy visit.

The governor said the employment process contravened the earlier approval of the government which okayed the employment of 420 academic staff out of a total of 867 persons, but on the contrary, a total of 1900 persons were employed out of which only 123 were academic staff.

According to him, "We are going to revisit it and that second process will be strictly on the initial approval, ensuring that the academic staff are more. We must give our people the best, that decision is in the best interest of the state, and more especially the future of our state."

Sir Fubara who assured the commitment of his administration towards youths empowerment and development in the state, cautioned the youths against operating in splinters, noting that they can only get government support when they work in unity of purpose.

The governor also said: "we are working with three foreign companies that would bring in few investments. By the time they are established including agricultural projects, youth restiveness would reduce to the barest minimum."

Earlier in his address, the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State chapter, AMB. Chijioke Ihunwo said the visit was to congratulate the Governor on his electoral victory and the appointment of a youth activist, Chisom Gbali as Commissioner of Youth Affairs in the state.

He also appealed for the reconsideration of the state government's decision on the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education employment process as it affects majority of the youths of the state.

In line with the current realities in the country and commitment of our administration to ameliorate the effects of removal of fuel subsidy on the well-being of the good people of Ogun State, we have approved the following measures for immediate implementation:

1. Cash palliative of N10,000 for each public servant including pensioners to enable workers to cope with the economic shocks occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy for 3 months in the first instance with effect from July 2023.

2. Approval of hazard allowance for all health and medical personnel in the State.

3. Approval of peculiar allowance for public servants in the State.

4. Immediate release of Letters of Promotion in respect of 2021 and 2022.

5. Payment of March and April 2023 leave bonuses for public servants in the State.

6. Immediate cash-backing for the quarterly payment of gratuities to pensioners.

A government that will do will starts from day one.

Since I was told by retired and serving civil servants that until you get your promotion letter, sign and send to ministry of finance that no payment will be made. JULY FAAC MEETING

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared the sum of 907.054 billion Naira June 2023 Federation Account Revenue to the Federal Government, States and Local Government Councils.

This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting for July 2023.

The meeting was chaired by the Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein.

The total distributable revenue comprised distributable statutory revenue of 301.501 billion Naira, distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of 273.225 billion Naira, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of 11.436 billion Naira and Exchange Difference revenue of 320.892 billion Naira.

The balance in the Excess Crude Account (ECA) was 473,754.57 Dollars.

The communiqué stated that Gross statutory revenue of 1.153 trillion Naira was received for the month of June 2023, higher than the sum of 701.787 billion Naira received in the previous month by 451.134 billion Naira.

According to the communiqué signed by Bawa Mokwa Director (Press and Public Relations) office of the accountant general of the federation,Companies Income Tax (CIT) recorded tremendous increase in the month under review.

Import and Excise Duties, Value Added Tax (VAT), Oil and Gas Royalties increased significantly, while Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) decreased considerably.

ACCORDING TO WHAT I HEARD, I WAS TOLD THAT OUR PROMOTION LEETERS WON'T COME UNTIL OUR BOARD IS CONSTITUTED. HE SAID, IF THIS ACTING CHAIRMAN ISSUE THE PROMOTION LETTER THAT, ANOTHER GOVERNOR CAN COME AND KEEP IT ASIDE.

So I was told too, that the promotion implementations will be in batches. Is it not the governor that will constitute the board? Sim may be worst than Wike government. He doesn't look like he is the one in charge.

The Government of Rivers State has observed with dismay the inconsistencies/ irregularities and flagrant disobedience to the directives concerning the just concluded recruitment exercise at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt.

Therefore, the recent employment exercise conducted by the management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt is hereby cancelled .

All appointment letters issued and received are hereby nullified and the affected persons are directed to return the letters to the office of the Registrar of the Instistition and other employment related properties such as ID Cards in their possession to the office of the Head of Service, Rivers State immediately.

A proper and credible recruitment exercise shall be conducted in due course.

I will keep posting updates here as long as I get them. Pls verify further because things can change over night. After the shocking message of the level 10 promotion and letters been out. A friend went to the Board headquarters and he was told that for now, no information on the letters, that the governor has not given the order yet. That they said board has no chairman but acting chairman. That they are still begging and hoping it will change. They also said the financial implications is high on teachers because many are going to level 16 and the state has no money to accommodate it. Is only God that will help us. Informations can change over time, so verify and if it changes act with the later.

Okay, thanks to those who inquired. I know it's normally before 15th. Let's hope to say how it will end now.

Hmmm, my dear I also heard that principals were asked to prepare new emergency voucher today and submit. Abeg if you are close to your principal, find out if it is true and what new information is attached.

Pls I heard from someone who is a supervisor at one of the boards that the promotion letter is out but teachers were only promoted to level 10 instead of 12. Pls who has another information or who can confirm this news?

He was employed 2013 and was promoted to level 12 step 6 from level 8 step 3.

No wonder the sssb recruitment was halted.

That was why she was transfered immediately out the Board. She was lucky not to have been sacked. That incident is why the job was stopped and also halted our letters. But let us pray it gets to us soon.

I called two different persons at board, I was told they have not started giving. That it is only the ministries that are giving and that there is no how they will give them and exclude us. We are in for a longer time here. Pls those who know people at senior secondary schools board should also call to share with us their own response.

I was with a staff who works in a law court in Rivers State yesterday, she told me that she was issued a promotion letter of level 10 (She was in grade level 7, Employed with SSCE certificate) which she photocopied and submitted a copy to their admin officer as they were directed to do.
She told me categorically that the new salary was neither paid to her nor any other staff in her place of work in June salary. However, that they are hopeful it would reflect in their july salary.

Is good we are finding out things by ourselves. You didn't ask the step they placed her on the level 10? Anyways, let's be hopeful ours will take place this month. I was told the board chairperson was suspended then because of she was caught selling the job slots at 500k. But I don't know how true sha, and that made out letters to be stepped down.

It's net salary, the gross is 155k after deductions it reduced to 128k and some fractions. I saw it with my two eyes as well as on the person's payment alerts for several months. I meant level 12 step 8

This is serious... Apart from seeing our promotion letter, does it mean no one has seen our correct step? Some say 12 step 6, others say step 5. Abeg who don see our own oooo?
