SLEEP on, beloved, sleep on and take thy rest, Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour’s bosom; We love thee well, but Jesus loves thee best;— Good-night! Calm is thy slumber as an infant’s sleep; But thou shalt wake no more to toil and weep; Thine is a perfect rest, secure and deep;— Good-night! Until the shadow from this earth is cast, Until He gathers in His sheaves at last, Until the Lenten gloom is overpast;— Good-night! Until the Easter glory lights the skies, Until the dead in Jesus shall arise, And He shall come—but not in lowly guise;— Good-night! Until, made beautiful by love divine, Thou, in the likeness of Thy Lord, shalt shine, And He shall bring that golden crown of thine;— Good-night! Only “Good-night,” beloved, not “Farewell”! A little while, and all His saints shall dwell In hallowed union, indivisible;— Good-night! Until we meet again before His throne, Clothed in the spotless robe He gives His own; Until we know, even as we are known;— Good-night!

Adieu Great lion of Biafra. Rest well in the bosom of our God, the Great Yaweh! ![]() I mourn you today oh Ikemba as I mourn a father. You offered to stand in the gap between Eastern Nigeria and a certain annihilation/colonization. You stopped the annihilation but failed to free us from colonization. We will never forget! You stood up when cowards stood down. You spoke up when cowards ran away. You mortgaged everything just to see us free. You were hunted 24/7 for 3 years by a combined forces of evil. You created something new in Africa -a spirit of self belief. You battled enemies in front, and even more enemies behind; survived to a ripe old age. You were dangerous to the enemies of Eastern Nigeria in life. You are even more dangerous to them in death! ![]() God promised threescore and ten years (70 years) to those he loves. He added 8 years to you to show you how he loves you. Adieu Odumegwu! ![]() It is well! |
Let me make a bold statement (my trademark). ![]() It is disingenuous for some of us Igbo to take pride in our people living in some of the most dangerous Islamist countries in the world. IT IS NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF. ![]() It is like someone taking pride in his pr-os-tituting mother just because she raised him and paid his school fees. She is still a p-rosti-tute! As soon as you became old enough (I believe Ndigbo are even past old age on this), you should reprimand her and goad her towards a more honorable profession. There is nothing proud in selling bomb making materials to terrorists. I don't see any Igbo in southern Nigeria doing that. In fact I believe you can only do that if you don't have any Igbo upbringing, I don't care if your parents are still alive. Ka anyi were ehihie chowa ewu oji o! Here I stand. ![]() |
Posted by: Relax101 When an Igbo man was the Niger Ambassador to the Uk, the question didn't pop up.Then also proudly accept, and don't cry when they parade an Igbo al_queda suicide bomber soon. FACT! lol. smh @what some Igbo are gleeful about. |
Posted by: ezeagu Ha gbaliala, let them not complain when their kids turn Boko Haram and Al Qaeda or is it Hezbollah and Mujahadeen. In fact are they also in the Bermuda circle, the fountain of youth and at the Holy Grail? That is why our mass desertion of Igboland is very dangerous. You cannot live in some of the worst countries in the world and expect not to copy some of their ways of life. Ndigbo, please nakwa echeki. ![]() |
@ndu_chucks_bin_laden If you have any honor in you, (oops terrorists have no honor, mass-murder is their "honor" , you would have noted and emphasized that your terrorist brother was born in Niger Republic, and was groomed all his life in the North. He probably doesn't even speak Igbo like most of the diaspora kids. So, why do you emphasize he is Igbo? There is your bare bottom. olodo. |
@ndu_chucks_bin_laden I hope you are intelligent enough to allow me room for suspecting your intention here, afterall most of your past intentions were dubious. That is why I wonder why you are quick to post this purely on the basis of the "Igbo_ness" of the terror suspect here. What about his religion? ![]() As far as I'm concerned, the terror suspect is another Muslim like you and is FAR CLOSER TO YOU than any Igbo. So, he is your brother_in_terror. ![]() |
alhaji ndu_chucks_mutallab_bin_al_zawahiri_bin_laden I wonder what you are up to now. Have you bothered to find out the ethnicity of other Boko Haram suspects? Every Nairalander already knows what you want to paint here: ANOTHER BOLD LIE. Shame on you, dan banza! |
Hightech Abacha Recipe: abacha, dried mangala fish, stockfish, anara leaves, afufa, ncha (specially treated and reinforced palmoil), crayfish/dried prawns, maggi, salt, and love! ![]() |
My brothers Beaf and Chyz don kill me tire! I'm feelin' you too bro WilyWily. ![]() |
Posted by: FACE The truth is that it doesn't matter whether any state govt sacked Abians in the past. A wicked act has no justification at all. The sacking of people from other states was ill advised, wicked and wrong. ![]() My home state is Anambra, but I see Enugu as my base home and Imo as my heartland home (where I run to when pursued by the evil forces of this world ). I don't know how many Igbos can say they have only ONE SE state home. That is one of the most beautiful things we still have as a people. That is why ALL of us must fight any attempts to divide Igboland, by all means necessary. ![]() |
I'm also asking this question because I was a little hash on Abia state here some weeks back. My argument then was that the action was not well timed. However, let me assume it is somewhat pardonable if ALL other SE states did the same to Abians in the past. It is morally right to say so. However, my hunch tells me that it never happened in Anambra state. But I could be wrong. I would also like to know whether Imo and Ebonyi states did the same thing in the past and when. So, I will keep this thread for about 2 weeks to get the facts out. |
Did Anambra state EVER lay off Abians; if so when? What year did it happen? Under which Anambra governor? These questions are very important because Abia state government insists that Abians were fired by other SE states(Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo and Anambra) in the past. If so, can anyone confirm whether it happened in Anambra state Onye si na ihe na ato uto, okwuo ihe o na ato ka ya. A na egosi nwata awo n'ikpo okwute, a na emetu ya aka! ![]() It is show me time brothers. ![]() |
This question was inspired by this article below Abia govt recalls sacked non-Igbo workers |
This thread is for those with the relevant information on this issue. Was there ever a time Anambra State sacked Abia State indigenes in Anambra civil service? I have to ask this question because I honestly don't know whether it ever happened, though I doubt it did. The Abia State government has maintained that other SE states sacked Abians in the past. I know that Enugu did sack other Igbos in the past (shame on them!), but I don't believe Anambra did it. I don't know whether Imo and Ebonyi, did it too, but I want to know about Anambra. If they did it, then, I wonder why anyone in Anambra should complain. I would be shocked if Anambra did it, but I could be wrong. Anyone with facts, please say when. |
I used to think that this Fashola is educated. Nigerian SANs like Fashola are just jokers. I guess that is why there is the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. Nigeria is a freaking jungle. |
If every Eastern state creates at least ONE of such new city, the economic boom in the East will suck Igbos home. Time for lamentation is over. It is time for action. Happy thanksgiving to everyone! ![]() |
Anambra state should pursue this project vigorously and agressively. They should hire capable hands to bring it to life SOON. http://anamcity.com/?page_id=95

Posted by: Obiagu1 A family moved down to Onitsha, spent so much getting a shop; you know how much stores cost in the East. Because the man wasn't that wealthy, he struggled to put merchandise in his stores and to get customers. This just happened recently after GEJ's election. After just few months, he was almost broke. What option does he have? He wanted to leave the North, he has a family to feed and a business to develop but failed.Believe me I can relate with everything you are saying, afterall we are all Igbos! I'm at least happy that the guy discovered what he did wrong the first time and is planning better. I really blame the governors more for this problem. Whenever I drive on some of Ngige's and Peter Obi's back roads, I see what our governors can do with the money available to them They can develop new business areas and generally plan to create the environment that enables business. It is possible. But if I were poor, no matter how poor, I would NEVER head North. I would even go to Togo or Benin or any poorer African state than head North. I would do so because we Ndigbo have a history in Northern Nigeria. Even the spirits of dead Igbos there can create problems there for us. They died brutally and we moved on and keep returning as if nothing happened. Nna mba o. |
@Obiagu1, I understand all you are saying, and believe me I am not being insensitive to their plights. My family lived in Kano for decades (before I was born), but still left. Many other Igbos have left the North for good. They never knew there were opportunities in the East until they left the North. That is usually how it happens. They assume they won't find opportunities in the East until they return. They excel. The more difficult one is our folks returning from Lagos of all places. They resettle in the East -Onitsha, Nnewi etc. They take their business with them. One of my guys moved his business to Nnewi and he is making tonnes of money there too. It all depends on your business niche, and your mindset. Ndigbo si na ndu ka aku. A dead man can never make it. I think we should mount pressure on our governors to swing into action and give us the needed infrastructure and business areas. What we are suffering from is lack of leadership. That's all. |
Posted by: Ileke-IdI Use your common sense. What about more than 20 minutes ago? Who are you trying to deceive? What was your brother negro_Goat bragging about Igbos needing the market in the North and West? Are you this short brained? |
Posted by: htajz no they dont , they have oil and lots of companies plus a large population plus nollywood why would they need you, if they really cant do without lagos they can still come as foreign investors like the chinese , indians, lebanes and south africans do but thinking igbos or any other eastern group needs the sw or north is ridiculous.lol, I don't think they are thinking at all, but it ain't my concern. My concern is the governors in East. Talk is their favorite past time. Even now, I step over N500,000 lands in SW to buy the same type of land for N1M in the East. The future is in the East. ![]() |
All I have to say is this: One of these days, the governors in the East would actually take this challenge seriously and give us needed infrastructure and development program that will suck back all the Igbo business men in North and West; then we shall see. They have already started doing so as the "Anam New City" project is showing. It will come alive soon. The same will happen in other Eastern states. Our lands are basically undeveloped. The more these attacks occur, the more we hound our governors and they will soon swing to action. The East will soon get serious and move the economy eastwards. It is inevitable. ![]() |
But Innoson is NOT there in Lagos, is he? |
Posted by: Aigbofa Keep deluding yourself. What has monogamy and Christianity got to do with business acumen. As if there are no successful, polygamous non Christian business people!!You see why I said that it'll take you guys at least 500 years to understand the human philosophy leading to success in small, medium and large scale business. I won't train you here. You are on your own dude! hehehe! BTW, I'm yet to see a polygamous rich man whose business survived after his death. |
@Ileke-IdI Some of those Igbo beliefs also include things like sharing in your neighbors pain and sorrows, something your folks can NEVER learn in this life or in the next. We mourn with those who mourn, and celebrate with those who celebrate. It is one of the most important "secrets" of business. Your folks are too mean, selfish, oafish and bitter to EVER understand them, talk less of practicing them. ![]() |
Posted by: Ileke-IdI I see that you kept mute about what i wrote. Keep it in mind when next time you say Igbos dont need SW and North.I didn't want to address idiocy. ![]() What you typed doesn't make sense. For many many years, your people have tried to copy us in business. It has not been easy because what makes us good at it also include things like monogamy and christianity, and Igbo core beliefs. It ain't easy for an ordinary Yoruba man. ![]() Keep trying though, maybe in the next 500 years, you may have dropped some of your vain ways of life which kill small business. ![]() |
^^ I noticed it. lol |
Posted by: Ileke-IdI If Yorubas and Northerners should boycott Igbo products, who do you think will lose the most. And you think YOU can survive the boycott? As of today, we are in almost every country in Africa. All we need is to activate the links and go from there We have more international business contact than both of you combined. ![]() |
The funniest and most stooopid thing I've read since joining NL is that Igbos need North and SW markets to survive. Whatever happened to the rest of the international community. Keep deceiving yourself. |
Obviously some people are getting hard-on from Igbo deaths. Make una carry go. You don't value your own lives. We value ours. Who is the fool? |
It is for Negro_Goat |
