For starters Katherine, I dont know why you find my contribution hillarious. On another note I have been hopping through various airports across the country and i must say some people are being paid for work not done. The chillers at the domestic wing Abuja airport dont work and the atmosphere is close to jankara market. As for enugu airport a guy in uniform highjacked my lugage before I could get my feet off the taxi. I went after him and got my lugage forcefully from him and told him i do not need his help. Then when you arrive the lugages are driven into the arrival hall as the conveyor belt is not working. Please dont use the toilets. However I must commend the dream and conception of the MMII Lagos. There is some degree of sanity there. |
Its not quite simple but a few of the following are probable answers. 1. Not all have been able to eat their cake and have it. Carreer, security can come but many leave a few suitors behind 2. Quite a few of the guys are just simply timid cowards who are afraid they will fail at being providers 3. The ladies have dreamed up what Mr right should be. He is taking too long in coming because he is not yet off the factory line 4. Both the guys and ladies are waiting for who should make the move. Life is not fair, it also moves on. |
I am not too suprised it has to do with that particular Governor. He is simply a stark illterate person. Try listenng in to any of his interviews and you will be shocked. The pursuit of power in Nigeria, I beg to say, is not for the upliftment of the people. It is simply to line their pockets while the rest grove in the dark. How long should this go on? For as long as you and I simply post a reply on nairaland and do nothing else. |
It is inconcievable that those that say they are representing us do not want us to have access to information in this country. They quashed the FOI Bill like it was a rabies infection and yet they are conducting probes with tax payers money when all we needed was for every body to know everything before even the need for a probe. Me thinks they have somethings they are hiding and want to hide. WHAT DO YOU THINK? |
I had bought an aerocontractor ticket to lagos from abuja. got to the airport late and was not boarded. my request for a refund was rebuffed cos they said i was not checked in 30 mins before take off according to their rules. I coughed out 2,500k to have the ticket revalidated so I could use it on another flight. on my return which I decided same day (couldnt stand lagos) I had to go through another series of - wait to confirm revalidation, system is down blah blah. At the end of the day the flight was delayed by 15 - 20 minuites. So I started by asking that I be compensated for a delay in the take off of the aircraft since I was asked to pay a fee for revalidation cos I arrived late for the flight. At the end of the day I had an option of quietly heading back to abuja or end up paying another fee for not boarding the flight. |
been a musician on the side all my life. this is my take. *rock music is very expressive, raw and is not avowed to make overs as in some genres *due to this all forms of emotions are expressed there in. hate, frustration, misery, sexuality, sensuality, confusion, realities of life *these expressions can be taken to be demonic as their origins are deep from within unfiltered *those that perpetuate the sounds you hear have lifestyles that you may not be proud to invite to dinner with your granny *the instruments and sounds can be produced from a diff spirirt with diff results finally check the greats, they are either sexual pervs, drug addicts name it. i must confess that the sincerity of the lyrics does catch me. unfortunately they offer no solutions. |
not many men like to feel caged. especially if its like they are being cornerd into marriage. at this stage in your b/f's life he is either saddlied with the thoughts of what happens after school. getting a job, settling down. its harsh, but the truth is that you may not be in the picture for now. get a life outside of him. learn a new language, get into new friendship circles and let him know you can be single and happy. if he really wants you in his life permanently he will put you in his plans. period. |
Well George, I must say you can as well jump into a lake if you feel so disgusted. The problem with you and so many others is that you think a university degree confers on you the reward of a job. I do not agree. I was a HR practioner and you will be shocked that so called grads can not even write a short sentence sencibly and correctly. I have never been out of work except deliberately. I have over the years learnt skills that will fetch me money legimately whenever I offer them. In short get yourself a skill in line with your talent. Like me I am a good writer with flawless speech. A walk into any audio production studio anytime will make me money from copy writing to voice over etc. So give us a break and stop whinning. ![]() |

Kemjisuper, I heard a comment recently that the screen set is the last dictatorship in the civilised world. It came from a movie diector. So you are right the guy might come out with more than better spoken english. Like you said a brain wash. On the flip side he may have more than one opiniuon on any issue. At least he gets to see the world from two different sets of eyes. |
I grew up with a father that made us listen to BBc news and virtually all programmes they had to offer. Would I say I was pissed. The end result today is that I speak impeccable english and it has opened doors for me. It is not new to hear some of my clients who are white asking if ive lived in europe before. The take is this . You tend to speak more of what you hear and the way you heard it. Spend time with people communicating instead of watching all the rubbish they call nollywood. Read far and wide so that you can have information that you will need to communicate. Finally have a dear friend who speaks better to put you in line when you are offbeat and also importantly to commend you as you progress. |
You never walk up to someone and say hi, my name is xyz and you walk away trusting the person 100%. Trust is built over time. It is not a snapshot. It is a reel which is produced by time and space. People will deserve your trust by what they have given. I have trusted a 100% and was betrayed but that does not mean that the genuine which we all hope to bump into doesnt exist. In life we must all take risks, even the risk of loving, living, smiling, crying, laughing and trusting100%. I say all this to say that you can get to a place where you know this person is sold out to you and your course. Even if they fail, they are only human. Are we not all? |
You dont need a whole lot of advice. S he ahs shown you what she is. So take a walk man. |
I subscribe to jkpretty's line of approach. Guys dont get the drift when they are playfully handled even on a serious matter. Some like me may like it upfront though but some others might be crushed. I do remember back in the days when i started dating that a girl i ended up with thouhght me things i still do today to my advantage. She just made it look like this is what you get for trying so so and so so out and before you knew it became a routine which i am better off for now. |
A man will make out time to do what he likes. You only get to know what is priority to him by observation. Yes he is busy trying to set up that means career and the likes is No1. Couldnt even bother to get a gift for Birthday and so on and so on. So you can know what your position is on the list of things. Take a clue and make your decisions. I am a man and thats the way we are. |
9star, You have a right to be heard and you also have the ability to shut up. I think when you don't have anything positive to share option two might be a better way. That is if you know thats the way to go |
Hi, I was hoping your location is Abuja where I currently live and I think I could have put you up for a defined period of time (which I have done now and then). Cant help but feel for you as I came into Abuja 7years ago with no place to lay my head for a while so I know what you are passing through. As advised by one or two people, you should start from somewhere cheaper and move up the ladder. I do admire your guts though. |
and the line went dead |
Dear James, What is your location for this need? |
Almondjoy, from me to you, what is this thing you have for frankies. It definitely is more than skin deep. |
i had struggled personally for some part of my life to make a career either out of singing( music) or what can be termed the norm. my late father had given me the silent treatment for two weeks after at the age of 12 i told him i wanted to be a musician when i grew up. this was an answer to his question that what did i want to become as an adult. my answer was a sincere one as some of the best times i could remember was sitting down at the piano or singing with friends at school and the likes. i went on and got a degree later in life and worked for sometime as a singer doing gigues here and there with some of the names in the industry today. i also got good opprtunities for a 9 to 5. at a stage i combined the two closing at 6pm to mount a stage at one of the foremost hotel lobbies at 8pm to do a three and half hour show with a female colleague. this went on for three years plus and i remember our pianist is a certain guy today known for nabaaka. i say all this to say that i took a decision then that i will stick to my career in facility management which i do well and was not too interested in the crazy lifestyle that the stage asks for even when you are not cut out for it. singing can be a career, you need to learn the ropes, comport youself with the proffessionlism that it deserves and it will put food on your table and more if what i call that lucky break comes your way. |
baby girl, i know you certainly still love this guy thats why you are still looking for the way to construct a road back into his heart even when he is saying there is a dyke on it. tough call but please move on with your life. PLEASE. |
its really not that simple. |
will send you a mail on that but you must know that it is as is. availlability of what is sent now by march might be long short but you will get a range for the different locations. |
