maclatunji:

Why borrow at all when you are coming from a period of affluence?

I will tell you why: the overwhelming majority of the revenues raised under GEJ was stolen. A conservative estimate would be N1 trillion.
If Jonathan was stealing that much when oil price was $70 and the economy kept growing, there was still some money left to execute projects, why is Buhari that is not stealing anything still complaning about oil price?

Obasanja did run the economy aground before Yaradua took over, Yaradua didn't run the economy aground before Jonathan took over, Na Jonathan run the eonomy before Buhari took over.

Stewpid people, keep on blaming Jonathan, when you know you have an illiterate and a tribal bigot as president
Hahaha Abacha ran it aground before Obasanjo, Babangida ran it aground before Abacha, Buhari ran it aground before Babangida, the blame game goes on.

These guys don't know how foolish they sound.

The 2015 budget was not financed by borrowing, 800 billion out of 4.5 trillion is less than 20 percent of the budget, so stop exaggerating .

On the other hand, Buhari is borrowing over 2 trillion Naira to find the 2016 budget.

First, buhari has completed the rail line that has been lingering for more than 10yrs.

Refineries (before your brother started blow up the pipes) have started working fine..

And now, buhari hasn't even completed a tenure... Why not wait?
****how can Buhari complete a rail project that was already complete. What did he add, with how much and which budget?

The good old days of Jonathan. Power projects, road constructions, railway constructions, university constructions etc everywhere. Contractors were having it good and so were there employees.

But what do we have under the dullard?

What is new? The hardship is everywhere in this Buhari regime. The government is doing absolutely nothing in terms of projects, so contractors are hungry and sobis the staff of their companies.

[s]I am not a tribalist but I need to educate you cus I know d message u are trying to pass across. And as an ondo indigene from ilaje LGA, I need to explain to u wat u don't know.

Now d riverine area of ondo used to av ijaw minority groups and d LGA den was ilaje ese odo LGA until war broke out BTW both tribes in 1999/2000. D war lasted close to a year and my grandmum only escaped death by whiskers. After d war and as a form of reconciliation, d LGA was splited into two namely ilaje LGA with headquarters in igbokoda for d Yoruba speaking ilajes and ESE odo LGA for d ijaws with headquarters in arogbo. Now these ijaws were migrants who had been accommodated over time by d ilajes due to the well known welcoming spirit of almost all Yoruba tribes.

So that is why u can see an ijaw man claiming ondo state but that does not make him a Yoruba indigene. Even till tomorrow, news on d ondo state TV station is read in d ijaw language. And it is these ijaws who av shown to be violent severally that are now d militants terrorizing Lagos that d news is referring to. Even from his name it is obvious he is not an ilaje Yoruba or from any Yoruba tribe.[/s]

niccur, did you go through the link you posted?

According to your link, in 2010, naira to a rand was 25 naira,

The lowest it ever got was 11naira around 2015.

Dollars was 140 to naira around 2010
And 230 around 2015.

Now, how am I a liar?
You are a liar because you said "rand has always been 24 naira even when naira was 150".
A dollar was about 6 rands in that December 2010 Naira was 152 to dollar. Still rhymes with my previous calculation. http://www.exchangerates.org.uk/USD-ZAR-31_12_2010-exchange-rate-history.html

a South African Rand to a dollar is 14rands

A naira to a rand is 23naira

However, a naira to a dollar is above 300..

Did you knw why a Rand to a naira is low? because we dnt demand for it!

Did u knw why a Rand to a dollar is low? because they dnt demand for it that much...

What sane country spends dollar as if it's her currency?

The problem of this country is not buhari, my friend... And as intelligent as u sound, u shld realise that the only mistake he made, which I do not support is to remove all benefits once ...

He shld av done it one after the other..

We seriously needed someone like OBJ who wld damn all consequences. OBJ tried to revive outlr manufacturing sector that was killed by IBB thru import and subsidies, but he did it small small and not like buhari is doing it..

I can't argue more... But biliv me, even SA is currently in recession.. Venezuela, Angola, Saudi Arabia, uk etc are all suffering.. Ask those who are there to yell u the truth..
Let me ignore the hypocrisy in the rest of your post and focus on the math. Did you study math in school? If 1 dollar = 14 rand and 1 rand = 23 naira, what is 23 x 14? Check the result and tell me what you are yapping about again

Very stupîd questions. Buhari and his gang of Yoruba supporters should just implement the so called solutions and alternatives they talked about when GEJ was in power and make sure Nigeria is better for it. That is all we ask.

Omonigeriarere:

Prosperous as how? As opposed to what it is now, Nigerian experienced the highest petroleum price in history during the period you mentioned (over $120/barrel) which was supposed to served as springboard for achieving a giant success, yet the resultant effects were:

1. Increased borrowing

2. Depletion of reserves

3. Borrowing to pay FG workers - http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/05/06/fg-borrows-n473bn-to-pay-salaries-okonjo-iweala/

4. 11-12 months strike action in Nigerian Universities(longest in history)

5. Dilapidated educational structures

6. Lack of diversification of economies.

7. Increased rates of unemployment the resultant effect was introduction of 'contract staff even in Nigerian Banks'

So, please tell us what was the achievement you were referring to?
Please all these $120 per barrel you guys keep throwing about, for how many months did it last? How much was oil in OBJs regime?

Contract staff jobs are better than no jobs and loss of jobs as we have under the dullard.
