Akwa Ibom is one state where PDP has become a religion and there's nothing APC can do about it except to keep using their renowned media house (Sahara Reporters), to wail, lie and mislead the public on how Governor Emmanuel came to rule Akwa Ibom state. Can all bankers quit work because some bankers are under investigation for corruption ?
Can Nigeria Medical Association boycott work because some doctors were arrested interrogated and released on self recognition ?
Crazy nation with brain dead supporters.
What DSS did is constitutional.
1. Warrant of arrest was obtained.
2. THe constitution is clear that such arrest can be made any time of the day
3. There are provisions in the constitution for breaking ur door forcefully if you dnt give access
4. DSS can make arrest is it affects National security. Bribery in the judiciary can lead to anarchy. I am with you on this. They can boycott the courts for as much as they want; after all their actions have heaped nothing but misery on the people of my dear state - Kogi. |

This government is quenching the little light of hope some us are having in Nigeria.... You talk about constitution when dealing with individuals who traded the peoples trust on the alter of pecuniary gains? These same crooks summarily invalidated a subset of the electoral act in a bid to satisfy certain political interests. Had they placed the collective good of the country ahead of theirs, they certainly wouldn't be confronted by their current predicaments. The question is why these two and not others? |

Strict adherence to due process can't solve the problem of the judiciary. The system is filled with rogues whom have perfected the art of manipulating the law to the benefit of their pay masters. Yes the panel was changed the morning of the case; hence, the reason they were unable to provide a justifiable reason for their decisions on the same day. The end product was a flimsy justification which tended to indicate some form of compromise... |

InvertedHammer: / I have argued on many occassions that democracy is not good for Nigeria. It has been grossly abused.
In response to your position, there is no oversight. An institution cannot police itself as has been shown by the executive, legislative and judiciary arms of government in Nigeria. Democracy seems only good on papers considering the ways it is being implemented in Nigeria. Scandal after scandal, everything is swept under the proverbial carpet.
Nigeria needs a mix of democracy and dictatorship. As it is, the legislatures only challenge the executive only when their pockets are at stake. The judiciary is for the highest bidder. The executive wants to corner all the power. And in such a mess, nothing progressive has been achieved all these years.
Iraq, Libya, Egypt are classical cases to show that democracy doesn't always work. Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East figured it out a long time ago and they are progressing. No matter the best of intentions, put anything good into the hands of Nigerians in government and watch how it will be turned upside down for the benefits of the kleptocrats. \ I agree with you; democracy has grossly underdeveloped Nigeria. I am all for bringing these justices to book... |

Go to towns like Mombasa and see how they have been able to transform a moribund terrain into a tourist heaven. The problem with us Nigerians is that we tend to have this overbloated sense of misplaced importance and brilliance, which perhaps numbs us to our failings. |

I am currently in Nairobi and do certainly concur with those who trump Kenya ahead of Nigeria for the following reasons:
1. There is constant electricity.... 2. Cities and villages are well planned and integrated to the National economy 3. Transportation systems is very efficient 4. They seem to have a better appreciation of IT and it's ability to enhance overall efficiency for the benefit of society. 5. Stronger currency and certainly a stronger economy 6. Lots of tourist flock into the country from all over the world 7. Social life is a lot more fulfilling 8. Citizens are a lot more urbane and civilized 9. Kenya Airways is without a doubt the Pride of Africa 10 They have a modern President who speaks the language of progressive minds.
Progress has nothing to do with the number of "Cambridge Trained" individuals in your domain; but the ability to use the accumulated knowledge for the benefit of society. Frankly speaking, what we have going for us is oil and nothing else. |

Only Ebiras will vote for him in his second tenure if continues this way.He just started o, before you know it, the four years will elapse. He should ask Wada.Kogi is a civil service state, they don't have any other source of income apart from their salaries, depriving people of that will not make him popular. Joavid: so Kogi is the only state owing workers ba?
Tribalism is when Igala's have been in luggard house since the creation of the state and have nothing to show for it but ghost workers on thier payroll and when a man from another tribe enters luggard house, they want to paint him bad to the public and come up with petty reasons that he's messing up because he's reforming the state. The mindset of a leader determines his approach to Governance. You can fault Wada (and Igala man) as much as you want to, but it's fair to say that he wasn't a tribalist and believe in running an all encompassing administration. Bello's failure doesn't lie in his tribalistic tendencies but in his parochial and vindictive approach to handling issues, which is why he is struggling to cope with the realities of governance. |

Joavid: Wada did nothing for state. he did nothing in ebira land. absolutely nothing! we ebiras didn't throw stones at him.
infact he did nothing for his Igala people except paying them(ghost workers).
Bello is reforming the state, and Igala's are angry because of what exactly? An ebira man is governor? That's blatant falsehood: Who commenced work on the so called Lokoja township road Bello brags about? Wada was constrained by funds, which is why he went to the capital market to raise funds for projects he deemed critical to unlocking the potential of the State. As things stand, Bello has stopped all these projects, but has also failed to replace them with any of his. Also remember that despite the paucity of funds, Wada placed a premium of staff wellfare, paying backlog of benefits to both pensioners and current employees. It was only after Kogi's monthly allocation dropped significantly that he then proposed the famous Imo formula of the 80's, which labor vehemently kicked against. As at when Wada left office, he was owing months worth of salaries, but also left behind two months allocation - the questions is what happened to those funds? |
