This ride will be a very good buy IF anyone is really interested AND can afford it. that dashboard thing will cost very little to take care of; there are DIY and very low cost solutions to it without having to change it completely.

Is this tipper in Nigeria? I'm interested in a tipper BUT I need something on ground.

Call this FRSC personel on 08034015773. It's 18k and it's straight from the IG's office and it takes about 3 or 4 days. It's not those fake ones they tell you that you have to renew every year.

You need to be well researched and ask questions before posting. I know that Banix person and he has a lot of respect for and from his customers; he is not an angel BUT will never sell a stolen vehicle OR even stock a vehicle that he does not know the history.

And in some quarters, what you posted is very insulting to him, so IF you have any interest in the car, then you should go see it and ask him why its going for 2.8M, that's not the first high-end car being sold for way less than its Kelly's book price.

I saw this on the front page and I was wondering why its not in the Autos section - It has to do with Inspired_m and Platinum_nk (the same Platinum_nk that would lash out and call people like AgariAutos fraudsters - Its really funny its all coming out this way). You might not easily get the Saturn Vue Auto transmission easily as its not a very common vehicl BUT Internet shows that the vehicle shares the exact transmission with some vehicle types that are quite popular here in Nigeria (eg. Nissan, Honda, etc) and you can get the replacement transmission by going to shops in Ladipo or that auto market place right before the Oju-elegba bridge.

To get this confirmation, you will need more information on your vehicle's transmission (4-speed, 5 speed, etc), then you can check the following;

Go to the "First-Generation" Column of the Saturn Vue on this page and click on the right transmission type you have: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn_Vue

From your details, you have an L61 I4 engine, then you need to check for the appropriate transmission type too; some models share the same transmission with Nissan Altima, Maxima, Volvo, Pontiac (those space wagon types) etc

Looks like the wrong ATF was the origin of the problem and now that you have used the right one, its getting better - however, from the details you have given, there is one more thing you need to do; the rewire guy needs to undo the reduction he did on your vehicle, so it can run normally.

Out of curiousity, are you thinking of buying a vehicle with either options? - V8 vehicles are real tough on the road and the performance is amazing - might be a bit hard on gas though.

The thing is that the cost of putting it together PROPERLY will be a bit high and unfortunately, you are not in the car scrap business - I guess selling to a salvage buyer will be your best bet - BUT you will be losing out a lot because Ive seen them do things that are very interesting;

One of them was able to lobby a family into selling a "write-off" 2000 body landcruiser to him at 300k (He condemned the car so much that the owner's cousin felt the buyer was doing their family a favour) - the frame was still intact (just like yours is). He told me he sold the complete exhaust for 170k. People started coming for rear lights, he also sold the third row seats (both) for over 200k (I had no idea those small seats were that expensive) - he still has what is remaining right there near the weigh bridge with people still coming for parts you would never beleive will load in such change.

So it looks like its a real dilema for you, my advise though is this; sell it off as a whole or in bits (IF you have the time and energy), then add some good money to get another one OR go to Owode and strike a trade in deal with one of the Salvage Buyers (They all are salvage buyers anyways)

Yeah Bruv - Its the regular jap/chinco hype; cheap gadgets, no sturdiness - After a bit, you start thinking of the next - No second hand value.

You buy a 2010 model and its as if the whole world will stop, by next year they come out with a "better" model that makes this year's model look like a match box - they are more like flashes to me - no substance.

You know why there are only two for sale on autotrader? - simply because owners will not want to sell, those vehicles are built to last a life-time, and you take them for granted that through the years they simply turn heads.

That is why you see such vehicles as the CL500 being very scarce for sale in Nigeria or on nairaland.
