Nigerian Man With Valid US Visa Arrested At JFK Airport In New York For Lying To Immigration Officers A Nigerian man identified as Kolawole Fakokunde is now facing up to 5 years’ imprisonment after he was arrested by immigration officers at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York for trying to enter the U.S illegally. Fakokunde, who had a valid visitor’s visa on him, was arrested after telling a lie that failed to pan out. He had told U.S. authorities he was headed to Philadelphia to attend the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference. Unfortunately for him, the conference, one of the world’s largest law enforcement gatherings, had been over for about two weeks. Media reports said the Nigerian arrived in the U.S aboard an Arik Airlines flight, claiming to be a prison guard. But, he later told a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer that someone else “helped him complete his visa application,” in which he falsely claimed to be a prison guard travelling to the U.S. to attend IACP. Based on the information he provided at the time to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs in Lagos, Fakokunde was issued a valid visitor’s visa. He admitted that he was not employed as a prison guard, that he did not intend to travel to Philadelphia to attend the IACP conference, and that his true purpose for visiting the United States was vacation. Fakokunde is standing trial in a U.S federal court for “knowingly and willfully” trying to use a U.S. visa obtained through false information. A piece of advice if you’re trying to get into the United States illegally: Don’t use one of the world’s largest law enforcement gatherings as your cover story. Source 1 Source 2 Source 3: Google

Police in Brazil speculated that Santos’ beheading could be related to his wife’s work in a local slum, the Daily Mail reports. But local police chief Rafael Rangel said Santos’ wife worked as a social worker, and wasn’t involved in pursuing drug arrests. However, Yahoo Eurosport reports that Silva’s unit was an active part of Brazil’s effort to crack down on criminal organizations in advance of the 2014 World Cup in Rio. Regardless, the motive behind the beheading remains unclear. |
The wife is a police woman (UPP)...they've been fighting drug lords for quite sometime now... |

The World Bank has ranked Nigeria 147th among the best places for doing business. It also ranked the country as the 122nd for best countries to start a business. The report released, yesterday, said Nigeria’s low ranking is mainly caused by electricity problems, where the country is ranked 185th out of 189 countries evaluated. The first African country on the list is Rwanda, ranked 32nd. The report said in Africa, 66 per cent of countries enacted at least one reform last year, against 33 per cent in 2005, adding that nine African countries make up the top 20 most improved in terms of business regulations since 2009: Benin, Burundi, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Togo. The report said economies are ranked on their ease of doing business, from 1 – 189. A high ranking on the ease of doing business index means the regulatory environment is more conducive to the starting and operation of a local firm. This index averages the country’s percentile rankings on 10 topics, made up of a variety of indicators, giving equal weight to each topic. The rankings for all economies are bench-marked to June 2013. Source1 Source2 |
Could they possibly be monitoring GEJ's phone?.... |
Germany is sending senior intelligence officials to Washington, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Saturday, amid outrage over claims the U.S. National Security Agency monitored German Chancellor Angela Merkel's cell phone. Among them will be the heads of Germany's foreign and domestic intelligence services and the coordinator of the federal intelligence services, the government's press office said. The trip comes amid a series of reports that have challenged relations between the two long-time allies. The latest is a story in the German magazine Der Spiegel that -- citing a secret U.S. intelligence file --claimed Merkel's phone had been monitored for more than 10 years, stretching back before her current post. The same database indicated the United States was spying on many others in Berlin's political district, at least up to when U.S. President Barack Obama visited Berlin this year, Der Spiegel reported. Asked about these claims, U.S. National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said her agency does not "comment publicly on every specific intelligence activity." "And, as a matter of policy, we have made clear that the United States gathers foreign intelligence of the type gathered by all nations," said Hayden, echoing comments she and others have made in recent days. Still, it remains to be seen if citizens and leaders in Europe will accept such explanations -- and whether recent efforts by the Obama administration to address their concerns will be successful. Spokesman: U.S.-German talks ongoing for months The German government's deputy spokesman said Friday that its officials heading to Washington would seek to push forward talks with the White House and the NSA as they seek more information about the alleged U.S. spying. The German representatives will be in the U.S. capital "very soon," said the foreign ministry spokesman, who is not named in line with department policy. Source1 Source2 |

chronique: Quite unfortunate. I don't know why boys get fascinated with toy guns. I remember I used to have lots of toy guns when I was a lil boy. On one occassion,I actually shot my sister on her eyeball with this particular gun that had rubber bullets that sticks on the wall when fired. I'd watched a lot of films and only wanted to do a lil practise. I also remember taking my friends into my dad's room to show off his double barrel rifle. It had red fat bullets and golden ends at both sides. I also remember my friends playing with their dad's guns... Truth is,if parents do not watch their kids properly and watch what they watch on tv,they could end up being influenced negatively(if they get used to seeing too many crime movies and sorts). But the police in this situation could have fired him on the leg and tried to disarm him, rather than killing him. That dude is a minor for God sake.Well said... |
Alfa Seltzer: Moreover, it's being held by a small boy! Those police never tell the real story!Did you bother to read the whole Post?....I guess not...... It comes a day after a 12-year-old boy in Nevada shot dead a maths teacher at his school and Alfa Seltzer: But here we are even talking of a toy gun which if the policemen have had a good training would have distinguished from a real one. Those police never tell the real story!Let me ask you something Mr. Alfa, can you differentiate between a real gun and a toy gun from a distance?....there are toy guns that look exactly like the real thing.... Don't let these ones they sell in alaba deceive you.... A friend of mine once had a toy gun that looked so real when we were kids in the 1990's (primary school).... After his encounter with the police (they nearly opened fire), he got rid of it for good........ The kid should have dropped the toy when the policemen ordered him to........ May His Soul Rest in Peace... |
