Politics / Re: Aba Is Gradually Wearing A New Look Under Alex Otti by onyidon21: 7:33am On Aug 04, 2023 |
One thing I noticed in all the roads being constructed under Alex in Aba is that no demolition is being made. This was made possible because Aba is well-planned. This cannot be said for Nnewi and Onitsha which are not well-planned, especially Nnewi. I've always known that transforming Aba into a more modern city is not a difficult thing to do. All that it required was just a decent governor who genuinely has the will to do it. I don't know under whose administration Aba was planned, but one thing I know is that the person did an excellent job in planning the city. 6 Likes

Phones / Re: Just In! Trump Lifts Huawei’s Ban, Us-china Trade Talk To Resume by onyidon21: 8:20pm On Jun 29, 2019 |
LWKM. Last year, the US banned her companies from supplying micro chips to China to prevent them from using it on their work in progress super computer. In retaliation, China invested heavily on building micro chips and just recently they launched the world's fastest Super computer without us micro chips. Trump must have been informed of the impending consequences of his actions. Nevertheless, Lifting the ban now is already too late because it won't stop China from developing their own os. Also the rest of the world will now be cautious when doing businesses with US companies as they have learned that US can impose sanctions at will. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
Business / Re: CBN Plans Fresh Banks’ Recapitalisation As Capital Base Weakens By $3.5bn by onyidon21: 10:01am On Jun 25, 2019 |
I think this recapitalization is unnecessary if we can achieve price stability. This will improve investor's confidence, increase aggregate demand and and finally lead to economic growth and improvement in the exchange rate. This decision of the CBN governor is an indication that this administration has given up on the possibility of reversing the depreciating value of naira. 1 Like |

I don't know whether I am the only one having these thoughts here. It's just about the US vs China trade war and how it affects the smartphone market particularly the Xiaomi fans. I think this trade war will culminate to a point where Xiaomi will be forced to stop giving us android phones. It's no longer a news that the Chinese tech giant Huawei (which is the world's second largest smart phone producer) has been blacklisted by the US, and as a result US companies such as Google were forced to stop doing businesses with Huawei. Given this fact, the Chinese government recently threatened to retaliate by blacklisting every foreign company that ended transactions with any Chinese company for non business reasons. In other words, China is about to ban US companies, mostly phone makers from doing businesses with Google. Also, considering the fact that Xiaomi and Oppo were reportedly testing the new Huawei os that is about to be released soon, I think xiaomi and other Chinese smartphone producers are bracing up for life after Google. This is just my opinion though |

OrestesDante:America doesn't represent the world, Brother. I will never forget that quote from Huawei's CEO. The current generation of Americans are no longer the smartest. The Chinese are smarter. What the US does is to bully smaller and weaker countries. The US single handedly turned some countries such as Lybia, Iraq, Philippines etc to failed states. All the accusations meted to Huawei and Chinese companies today were also meted to Japanese companies such as Toyota, Honda Toshiba etc in the 70's and 60's. I honestly like the fact that Chinese government does not fold its hands and let its economy destroyed by the monopolistic US. China is sending the message that they are equals and not inferior to them. I stand for equity and egalitarianism 2 Likes 3 Shares |
Phones / Re: Samsung Has Started Working On 6g Network by onyidon21: 7:19pm On Jun 04, 2019 |
If they succeed in launching the 6g network before the US companies, the US government will place one false allegation on them, and they will start struggling like Huawei. If they are smart and foresighted, they should team up with Huawei and create a third force os, so as to forestall the prospects of their business being negatively affected by the US and Google sanctions. 2 Likes |

Okuda:. Well said. But that may not come to reality for two reasons. Firstly, Samsung seems to be benefitting most from the current predicaments of Huawei. Secondly, South Korea which is Samsung's host country, and some other countries in Asia like Japan have good trade relationships with the US. That being said, it's my wish that Huawei bounces back, and definitely they will 1 Like |

The question is, will these vendors (slot, jumia etc) stick to these prices especially when the demand increases? I have a good reason for asking because, when Huawei y9 was launched in Nigeria, the official price fixed by the company was N74600 but some of these vendors sold it as high as 88k. |

messymelly:. So many things are wrong with your assertions bro. Firstly, you said have not used a xiaomi phone but you have concluded that you can't compare it with apple. Secondly, you asserted that xiaomi copied apple but you failed to educate us in the aspect xiaomi did that. Probably you have read about the China versus US trade war and the current attempt to blackmai Huawei by the US government, and the reasons given by the US for that hence your assertion. Let educate you that what you call copying is normal in the technology industry and everyone does that including Apple. Huawei was rated the most innovative smartphone brand of 2019 and some people who no nothing about the smartphone industry still believe that Chinese brands copy Apple. You made another error by saying that the western world use only Samsung and Apple, but let me remind you that the westerners also Huawei, xiaomi and other Chinese brands. Xiaomi currently has official presence in three European countries including France and Spain. The company is yet have an official presence in the US but Americans buy xiaomi products online. Also, your assertion that IPhone and Samsung are the most widely used phones in the world is a blatant lie. Currently in terms of global sales, Samsung has the biggest market share followed close by Huawei before apple. You also asserted that IPhone beats Samsung phones, and I began to wonder whether you even make a research before commenting. Currently apple's flagship xs max is not eve in the top 6 of the biggest smartphone phone of 2019. The likes of Samsung s10, s9, Huawei p30 pro, huwei mate20 pro, Google pixel 3 are all above apple's xs max.. If you decide to compare them in terms of camera, the likes of Google pixel 3 Samsung s10 and Huawei p30 pro and even mate20 pro are all better than xs max. In speed and ram management,After seeing a series of YouTube videos, I discovered that the s10 beats the xs max hands down. Even in body build. So in what aspect is iPhone better than tge Samsung and other brands? Perhaps you are the type that compare a brand's flagship with another's midrange. Lastly, let remind you that that xiaomi has a huge presence in China and it is a major competitor to Huawei, Samsung and Apple there. 34 Likes 4 Shares |

Phones / Re: China's Huawei Launched 5G Network The Secret Reveled By USA Will Blow Your Mind by onyidon21: 7:18am On Apr 08, 2019 |
benzems:We are talking about Huawei and its 5G network here.Whether China makes fake products or not has nothing to do with the bone of contention here . The issue on board as stated by the article is that the US placed a lot of allegations on Huawei as a result of their launching of the 5G network. The US are actually getting it wrong this time around because, their attempt to get some of their allies to boycott Huawei is proving abortive. They started by alleging that the Huawei's 5G came with spy wares which will provide security information of any country it's located to the Chinese government. But some countries like Italy and the UK after carrying out their investigations have come out to say that they didn't find such wares in the tech. |

What he said is actually true, but handing universities over to the private sector means outragrous increase in tuition fees, and considering the fact that 90 million Nigerians live in abject poverty,we can conclude that the government is not ready to get the masses educated if they tow that part |
