agaba123: idupaul: eldee:See how they went straight to my post ![]() I must admit that i did learn alot more about my heritage and culture. I learned how to venture different writing styles and point of views. I learned to follow the Gospel of Onyinye (or have I already learned that) I learned that i absolutely love to argue. Idupaul, give it up already. |
Oh thanks Agaba Yeah it has been quite depressing. Seeing all the sentimental things of my childhood and beyond destroyed. Esp, this mural we made at my neighborhood park. All the kids(at the time) painted something to show where it all started for us. It survived thunderstorms, lighting, rain/floods, even snow. But it couldn't survive Ike. But I do thank God for my family, friends, and I safety. |
@topic I learned how to be alot more fluent in the Igbo language.( I meela Agaba I have become more diverse in my writing and poems (I meela Stephen na Rotimy I have learned that im not always right even though i hate being wrong (Unu niile |
It'll be okay. During Hurricane Katrina, same thing happened. Except my mom's Honda van glasses got shattered. The orange trees/banana trees were damaged. Light was taken out for a week. Worst days of my life! But I was looking through my window, it was scary. Things flying about. All you can do is give praise and thank God that you're able to come out of it alive
Morenike, I meela ibkaye:m na-achi ochi. ![]() |
darefestus:You dare put Ludacris up there and not even mention Biggie? |
Of course it goes straight to Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. The lyrics these brothas spit is just mind crunching. When i listen to All Eyes on Me and Ready to Die, I'm still in aw. I mean the things they would say and how they put it, just moved me. |
ibkaye:Oh KOFFEE, i di mma. ![]() |
Oh Stephen (deep sigh), You and these poems did bring some light to my day. The Hurricane and its destruction had me really depressed but when i read. . . . "And so I study the language your body speaks, Speaking it fluently, As if it were my native tongue," It put a smile on my face. |
femmace:CORRECTION "biko, Chineke gozie gi" |
Oyinye, hope the hurricane didn't knock. As glad as I am that it did not get to florida, am also sadden and worried that it knocked on texas. No damage?
The damage is heart breaking. Alot of the places that held much of my childhood have been demolished. We just got back power about 10 minutes ago. Last night had to be the upmost terrifying night of my life. The house was shaking, my bed was shacking. My baby cousins ran into my room all frantic. I tried to reassure them that things will be alright, but i knew i was lying to them and myself. |
@unu niile Just wanted to let yal know that im fine and me and my family are safe. We did survive the hurricane, barely, but we thank God for our safety. |
doyin13:Well well well, last time i checked my music collection, the song was preformed by A Tribe Called Quest. |
stillwater:Mufasa follows the Gospel of Bonita Applebum(a tribe called quest song). |
doyin13:Aww. . . . doyin i was about to quote lupe. . . . mayne. Anyways, as Q tip says "38-24-37" |
davidylan:Not according to me. StephenP:Awww. . . . too bad you are a short distance runner. Can't keep up with my endurance. ![]() |
Of course A 40 you would set up some conspiracy to take away from the Rockets win. Yes i must admit, it has been a while since we have seen the Championship game, but watch us snatch it this season and bring it back to its rightful home. |
Hannibal:Mufasa. . . . . im touched |
StephenP:Hmmm. . . . not really when the best is always saved for last. davidylan:Ahh you always see an opportunity don't you. . . . |
Hannibal:Slimshady keh? Whatever you say Mufasa. . . . |
davidylan:I guess I'll be the lone wolf. But i still got love for my curvy and hourglass shape sistahs. And no DAVID, i do not look like a boy. |
stillwater:Hope you are just playing. . . . |
Fighting and boxing dance? Nitori kini?
I don't remember the name, but i went to this International thing not to long ago, and say them do the dance. It looked like a fun workout. KarmaMod:Must be, then again. . . . oyinbo people here get away with alot and those akata people know they are walking on egg shells 24/7 |
@Oyinye Damn, I forgot what you call it. The one with the umbrella. . . . with the sachee or w/e sha. I'm having difficulties getting me steps right. ugh
Hmmm. . . . not familiar with that one. I am familiar with this Brazilian fighting/boxing type dance thingy. |
@Oyinye Do you know anything about the Brazilian dance?
Pending on the one you are referring to. . . . @TOH I don't know but. . . . but i just tend to notice that older white guys tend to do the whole "look n' touch" thing. And those young akata men do the same. But the latinos are the worst. Gosh, can't even go to the freakn' store with out scolding somebody. |
Oka oka. . . . i admit, Houston hasn't done much of anything to glorify, as of now. BUT(and that is a huge but), as i always say, never underestimate the underdogs. |
Oyinye, you take dancing class, am I correct? Ok, I'm going to need ya help on sth. . . .
Yeah i do. . . . in my spare time. KarmaMod:I actually have to say that the younger black guys act like this. But the older oyinbo people do the same thing. |
Queenisha:Kachifoo, Wish i could say the same to myself with this Hurricane coming. |
davidylan:OUCH!!!! Thats going to leave a mark. . . . Oka i already told you, i don't look like no dude just because i dont have that infamous hourglass shape. |
@Queenish LOL! You're not serious. ![]() Me sef I need 6 pacs like oyinye. I';m almost there. Oyinye, what can I do to get there? davidylan:Oka i make muscles look good. Soft ko, ![]() StephenP:And why not? ![]() |
