gem87:Seriously gurlie, this is just the start. First with the insecurities then him not wanting you to go out where ndi igbo are at. Seriously, can you imagine a life dealing with a guy who lacks trust in you? I mean c'mon, dude think by introducing you to his friends might persuade you into venturing for one of them. |
@post Well. . . . . . i have never ventured out of my cultural group(igbo). Except for when i was in highschool i dated akata boys but that is besides the point. Anyways, i really don't know what to tell you. Except to say that your boyfriend has some serious insecurity issues that need to be dealt with. Your relationship will never go further with that ginormous obstacle in face of progress. |
@post A man that makes a woman prone into tolerating his childish acts, then the man aint even a real man. Just a man with a boy's mindset. |
SimiBrasil:Oka come on now. This is not a good example to support you post. Men do like to feel needed or what have you. But i don't know that much Nigerian males that like a woman who puts up a front, and is fake. Most that i have encountered do like strong women who can hold it down, but also a women who knows her man's worth. |
So what do you suggest these so called "americanized" men should act/wear like? |
I really don't like PDA. I understand kissing and holding hands. But a full blown make out and tackle session is just so not wanted or adored. Esp, in the freakin movie theater. Don't know how many countless times i had to move where i didn't have to be in the presence of two so called love birds. |
Girl, it's very easy to say you won't do it. Easier said than done applies. At the time, it would be like he's just being normal. It's when you really think about it that you change your opinion of it. Just wait till you meet that one guy. You would be so ashamed of yourself.
I have been in serious relationships. There are things that i will tolerate, and things that i find solely unacceptable. Folk who do, go straight into that "falling MADLY in love" category. davidylan:Again David, you don't know what type of relationships i have had or hadn't so don't try to assume or dictate. |
Oh lawdy lawdy lawdy. Mayne i grew up in a Nigerian community, neighborhood, church, everything. So my life was on the radar by all my parents Nigerian friends. I couldn't get away with nothing. But i must admit, i had some pretty wonderful memories from this living style. |
davidylan: awww damn it david, always gotta be calling me out. You don't know what relationship i have been or not been in so don't try to assume or dictate. |
eldee:You never know when to stop do you. . . . . |
One time, my ex was paying too much attention to another girl while he left me hanging. . . . .if you know the excuse I came up with ehn! It's automatic. But now, no more rubbish. I am a strong woman and I am not going to just bend over easily for any man
Not trying to portray myself as headstrong or conceited, but I really can't imagine tolerating such acts from a man. I have had a past experience in which i was treated as such, but I sure didn't tolerate it. |
I truly don't believe that Nigerians as a whole are that backwards. Yes, there are those exceptional cases in which some men do take on multiple wives for some reason or another. But Nigeria as a whole, really don't do initiate in such customs as most think we are prone to. |
KarmaMod:Eziokwu! ![]() |
eldee:I stand corrected. Without you tea sippin' brits, Nairaland would have been considerably lower than it is now. |
I would be lying if i said i was not wary of the Eagles threat but i still feel we would beat the Eagles.Romo will step up you would see don't let last season fool you the Giants where on a roll and couldnt be stopped as the Pats found out in the Superbowl
I hope when you said "we". . . . it was not implying those Cowboys. They good but they aint that good. |
Has Camby left the Nuggets? because if he has then they are automatically not even guaranteed an 8th seed this season
The Nuggets is just one of those teams that have such great players with talent, that is just being wasted. Carmelo Anthony and Iverson need to be traded to a team that can compliment their talents. Preferably the Rockets. |
eldee:Sure Eldee. . . . i'll humor you and say that without UK folk, Nairaland would have been nothing. . . . |
eldee:Funny how you didn't mention not one person from the UK but all from the US. . . . hmmmmmm |
I learned to take in consideration of what some of yal say about the way i come off. |
I learned that aint nothing more interesting than debating over sports on who is better(Rockets) with A 40 ![]() davidylan:I meela. ![]() rampagain:Nnem |
davidylan:Hey now, i aint brash. A little rough around the edges, but not BRASH. eldee:Conceited much. . . . ![]() rampagain:So im a negative thing? |
I learned that American Football is more interesting than (world) Football. |
davidylan:Hey, there should be nothing surprising about it. ![]() eldee:(coughing relentlessly) Nwa, don't flatter yourself. ![]() Anyways, you know the best live in the west in the States. |
Talking about David?
Gurlie, i wish it was just one of them. . . . but it is ALL. They can recite that versus and write it verbatim. |
Trouble avoids me
Trouble adores me. ![]() eldee:Didn't you read what i posted, I absolutely love to argue. ![]() |
Uche2nna:LMAO!!! Uche, you know I just gotta be me. ![]()
Darling, is that not what I told you. Glad you learned it form someone else
@post I learned that Igbo men can be gentle. ask Uche
I guess i could agree. . . . but when they start mentioning Proverbs 31 vs. 10-31. . . . im out. |
bigboyslim:Of course, Ike might have tooken material things away from my city, but it didn't take the heart of it all. davidylan:I bet im NUMBER 1 on this list. Missy B:Yeah im still learning, but it is so much easier than the alternative. |
eldee:I learned that majority of the so called men on this thread put up fronts. |
bigboyslim:It meant (good man). See, try to pay you a compliment and you turn it to something else. Yeah Ike did its rightful destruction onto my city, but we Too Texas Tough to allow it to keep us from riding them prairies deep into the horizon. ![]() |
bigboyslim:ezigbo nwoke. ![]() @topic I learned that im quick in the mouth, and probably continue to be w/ moderation. I learned that that being tough (all the time) aint something to be proud of. |
bigboyslim:You have been promoted to, esclavo. |
bigboyslim:Yey! you spelled my name right. |
