Hi Bldr Kemdy Have you obtained admission for a Bsc in Civil Engr in a Canadian institution? If you have, IMO your major concern should be how you plan to convince the V.O that A bsc in civil is what you need at this point in your life, and not by chance. During you OND did you take civil courses like Strength of material, structural analysis, structural design, foundation engineering, mechanics of materials, and the likes? Or are you exposed to interpreting Reinforcement bar blueprints to artisans, bending schedules, casting of reinforced concrete etc If you are and you can proof this and more with any form of documentations you may stand a good chance in convincing the V.O of your intentions to study a B.sc civil. About whether you should declare you enrollment in your HND or not. IMO, if you declare it, what's to stop you from also abandoning the civil engr. Program your going for.? You need to think like the V.O All the very best Kemdy97: Please how best do I prrsent my current activity
I worked part time as an office assistance while I attended to classes for my OND program in building tech
I finished officially in 2016..and continued with the law firm job until late late year that I got back with my engr on site where I did my siwes .....currently I get to visit site every Saturdays and public holidays while I an currently running my HND program which just started 2 months ago ...I am going for BSC civil engineering
Now my question is do I state that I am fully on site as an internship student who is not being paid any salary but just stipends to take care of his expenses ..or tell them I am still in sch but visit site weekly |

Congratulations to you. Yes you're on track. Go with your International passport, photocopy of the data page, the passport request instruction, and the Yellow slip you were given when you did your biometrics. You don't need to pay any additional fees, except the SMS alert charge which is optional (#460) Congratulations again. Ada17798: Hello, house,
please, i need clarification.
I got a request for my Passport. do I go with only my passport, the letter asking for my passport and the other documents I was given after biometrics? And do I have to pay any money at VAC? because I checked the website and I saw 10k for taking my documents to the Canadian embassy in Lagos. please help I want to submit tomorrow.
Thank You. |

Thank you for these and God bless you! I really like option 2 cecechi: HELLO, i would advise two options: 1) you could apply for a visiting visa, i heard it doesnt take too long and seeing you have a trv, the visiting visa may not take time. OR 2)just chill till july and fly straight to prince edward island, after immigration checks, you can use local flight and travel to toronto till school resumes, you wont go through immigration checks twice. if they ask why you came early, you could simply tell them you want to settle in, prep for school and get use to their weather , besides your uncle will help you understand canada before you start school. |

Dear all, happy new year and congrats to all those approved, to those delayed, re-strategize and re-fire. Your input(s) on this will be much appreciated. So I have this family friend who is a permanent resident in Canada and resides in Toronto, Ontario. He was home for the Christmas and new year break and asked me to come to Toronto to stay with him immediately after my service year, ending this April/May, while I wait for school to start In September.
The problem now is how do I avoid issues at the point of entry? Because my school is located in Prince Edward Island and not Ontario. I believe the officer at the point of entry will request to see my connecting flight ticket to where my school is located.
Will it be an issue if I have the ticket to show but for a later date, say last week in August and I let the officer know my intention is to reside with my family friend in Toronto, and Fly to Prince Edward Island later or I jejely stay back in Nigeria doing nothing till August and fly to Prince Edward Island.
PS: I got my visa approved November last year, for a program starting September this year.
Thank you for your input in advance. |

I'm one bro. I have my trv already and my program starts September 2018, impossible is nothing bro. Lol jnyuwa02: They can for sure. But do they? Have you seen any? What I have seen is they take a long nap on those applications and deal with more exigent matters of closer admissions. First come first served indeed! Lol. |

Worry less about dress code sir. Whichever you choose will do. Cheers Pyale: Hello, I will be going for my Biometric in Lagos on Monday. I was told it takes just 5 mins to do it. So was wondering if I should dress smartly or just any casual wear would do. I would prefer to dress casually, though. Those that have gone, please advise me so I don't go to Lagos with shoes that I don't need tomorrow. Thank you... |

Yes you can go ahead if you feel it'll aid the approval of your application. All the best OjoIberu: I appreciate all the wonderful support received on this forum. I just submitted my application but I did not pay for the first semester when I was submitting the online application. Can I go ahead and make the payment now? Is it acceptable to send the payment receipt from the school to cic by mail since there is no way to upload any document to the application again.
Pls advise the best approach in this case. |

I'm guessing you are both Online applicants. The letter should be in your CIC account, I received mine in my CIC account just after picking up my passport at VFS last week. Here's a link showing you need the letter at point of entry http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-arriving.asp Nogen: Hello akmog, what's this letter of introduction about? I didn't get any. I only got a mail from the Embassy asking me to check my cic account for the message they sent. That was how I found the approval message . Are we expected to get a letter from them other than the visa? What is the importance of this letter? Must we travel with it? |

Good evening brother. Good to know you're thinking of the visa process ahead. However, other than the balance of your dad and uncle's bank statements, other factors go into play such as thier number of depends, how credible they appear in the eyes of the VO to pay coming years tuition and support you, their source of funds, pattern of funds in their account etc... The list goes on. So my brother individual circumstances matter a great deal! No one here can really say an amount is enough or not cause we don't know your circumstances better than you, we've seen folks with fat bank statement balance get denied based on insufficient funds and seen people with thin bank statement balance get approved. In all, put in a very wonderful and sincere application and an approval will follow. All the very best! ugwuokey: please someone should give his opinion on this..... I'll appreciate a lot. |

It's good your sponsor has paid your first year tuition, you may want to open a domiciliary account and have your sponsor pay in your upkeep money, I think $10,000 CAD/year. You'll need to attach proofs in form of receipts / bank statement to your visa application as well as state it in both your letter of explanation and sponsorship letter. In my own little opinion, you should worry less about an affidavit of support and concentrate on the above because these people prefer more proof, less talk. Regards TDultimate: Hello every one, Let the specialists help me.. My sponsor lives in France.. I wanna make affidavit of commitment to sponsorship. I planned going to court, do it, then send it to him for signing via email. But on the other hand would it b wise to make an affidavit in d Nigerian magistrate when sponsor lives in France.. Does it appear to look like I'm exposing that d system is corrupt. I'm actually considering submitting my application without d court affidavit of sponsorship since sponsor has already paid my 1st yr school fees. On d other hand if he makes an affidavit in France is it admissible? Seeing dat he is not from France but a temporary residence. Please experts help me let me know d available options I have. |

To your first question, yes you can apply for a college diploma with your 3rd class because the requirement for most college diploma's is only your secondary school transcripts. At least that was the case for mine, I also sent my college my 1st degree transcripts to stand a better chance at being admitted, not that it was a requirement. Ps: Why a college diploma in chemical laboratory technology? Why go for the program now? Why not undertake the course in Nigeria? Why Canada? How will this program enhance your career on your return to Nigeria? Do you have work experience in this field and or prerequisite courses? These and more are the questions you'll need to answer with documented proof in your visa application in order to convince the V. O that you're a genuine student because going for a college diploma is a backlog as you already have a Bachelor's degree. Getting the admission is one thing, getting the visa is another. I hope this helps you. Regards adebayonle: I want to ask if someone with a third class can apply for a 2 years diploma program in chemical laboratory technology and the required documents to process the admission |

If you feel paying your tuition will aid the approval of your visa, please feel free to do so. Damidala1: Wow.... please did you pay an upfront tuition fees?
