Well,I want Onyeka and Uche Christanus in the next list. Teslim Fatusi was not part of Japan 93 squad. He made it to Atlanta 96 though and he was not the only player from SW in that team |

Goke7: We can blame the coach for all we can but conceding in the 90th minute is unforgivable by any standard and the fact that this has happened under different coaches shows we have a bigger problem. I was never sold on Chelle cos I felt we could let Finidi go why Chelle especially when we saw what he did at Afcon but we were all enthusiastic because we saw him as an attacking minded coach which is what most Nigerians want to see all the time. The coach stays but he needs to make his team more competitive. Like I said yesterday, Bankole and Amas won't give Nwabali a good fight, he needs to invite Okoye, even if it's just for the bench role. Uche and Onyeka will give Ndidi good competition, unlike Aribo. Moses offered nothing yesterday, yet Chukwueze, who was his competitor in AFCON, was also on the field with him. FIFA gave Africa more slots in both the senior and U17 categories, but Nigeria missing out to qualify. This shows that something is wrong with our football. |

That's a very big risk na. Moreover you don't need to half importation to boost local production. U need a win, got a goal around 70 minutes and still maintained a lean midfield of 2 men knowing too well that the opponent will try to push forward with all they hv to get an equalizer? This is the area I think Chelle got it wrong Zimbabwe defenders were all on Osimhen. Immediately he was substituted, they started going forward and attacking. Chelle should have brought in Yusuf, even Aribo to protect the lead instead of bringing in Boniface. Same mistake he made twice against Ghana when they scored his team 2 late goals in each half. |

Ikpeba some few weeks back threw a jab on these players even yabbed them they can’t play before Lagos fans, I was one of those who thought he was too extreme but after watching the crap played yesterday I think ikpeba is right. Zimbabwe had about four clear chances to score yesterday. Imagine if VAR was used, the ball that hit the crossbar could have been reviewed to determine whether it crossed the line. Chelle had his fault. At 87 minutes while your team was leading, you substituted a striker for another striker when you were supposed to protect the lead.. |

Blueelf: My take even though unpopular:
1) NFF is nothing but a corrupt organization. Unfortunately, they are an extension of a failed Nigerian state,so no surprises here. In saner climes, when you miss out on two world cups, the football organization will be overhauled and key men sacked and then probed. But it will be business essential as usual. After all, Tinubu is our president
2) Certain players should be eased out of the national set up. I know someone of them are favorites of people won this thread but if I'm being honest, Ndidi has never had an excellent game for nigeria. His monster performance week in and out for Leicester those days was the reason he got called severally. But even when he was in his prime, he was average at best for the Super Eagles. I'm not surprised at his lacklustre performance over 2 games. What surprises me if why chelle saw this and kept him in the starting line up. This doesn't inspire confidence in Chelle's decision making going forward.
3) This take will ruffle so many feathers but anchoring your midfield creativity on a subpar player as iwobi is a recipe for disaster. The guy is an average player. While I commend his loyalty to choosing Nigeria over England from the get go, the truth is we must not be sentimental. If we're being objective, Iwobi's games are usually a strong 6/10 for us and have been so since AfCON ended. We can't be tweaking positions just to fit someone into the team. We have done this so much for iwobi and he ends up delivering average performances
4) Odimhen is doing too much of a carry job and it's worrying. The moment he looses form or gets injured, we are in hot soup. Literally
4) Lookman didn't really perform well today. 6.5/10. He should pass more, otherwise, he remains a solid member of the first team
5) please stop inviting iheanacho to the provisional list thereby reducing slots for more deserving players. I don't see the justification for his continual invite. I mean, you don't even have to be a UEFA licensed coach to see this. Haba! His time is up in the SE
6) Old man Ekong should be eased out slowly from the team. He has given his best and he can't do more than this. He should be dropped to the bench for a more younger defender and let him mentor from there. From there, let them ease him out slowly. We can't keep depending on a defender his age to anchor our defense. It's not tenable at all.
7) I don't know if it's me being emotional but we need to stop picking players like some are already guaranteed a place in the team. That's why some players don't give their all because even if they perform poorly, next list, they'll be sure to see their names there. As it stands, only players like lookman, Osimhen, Ola Aina, Iwobi and Ekong have really paid their dues. The rest need to be told that they need to fight for their shirts. All this jamboree of Iheanacho and Chukwueze should stop. I mean chunks had 1 goal in how many matches as an attacking winger for his club side. Is he the best we can do at that position? And this is a genuine question please Iheanacho was not called up for the matches, yet you still have something not pleasant to say about him… Haba! |

We can’t continue to see our foreign based stars struggle against home based African teams. I can now say that the problem with this team is not coaching majorly. The coach should start scouting for players, just as Rohr did when he was newly employed. Only Bassey and Osimhen showed real zeal. Players like Bankole and Obasogie can't provide strong competition for Nwabali; we need Okoye back |

semid4lyfe: I've confirmed the yellow cards from FIFA official match reports of those matches.
However should he have been suspended? That's murky and unclear to me FIFA would have made an announcement if he had breached the rule. No one reported Nigeria to FIFA when 3 points were deducted; It was FIFA itself that discovered the violation after previously notifying the NFF not to field Shehu in the match against Algeria but NFF ignored |

semid4lyfe: South Africa seems to be in scintillating form.
They've become our albatross and beating them has become difficult in recent times.
I still recall how they frustrated us at the AFCON and the WCQ in Uyo.
They controlled the game and played us out of the park during the first half of the WCQ, largely due to Finidi's incompetence and ineptitude.
They're a really good team and I do mot see them losing away. In fact, I think the worst result they'll get sway from home is a draw and I even forsee them picking at least one win away from home in their remaining matches.
The only team that can beat them in the group is Nigeria. amd Chelle must have perfected his tactics and settled on the best personnel to interpret and execute his game plan before we play them.
Finidi George and Peseiro no try for us at all with this predicament wey dem put us. Rwanda defeated them 2 nill in Kigali on match day 2. I wish Rwanda to remain a contender, it will motivate them when them meet SA in the reverse fixture. |

Even if Niger Republic maintains their 6 points, as long as they remain second in their group, they will be on the runners-up table ahead of us with 9 points, while we finish third in our group. Comoros has 9 points but not in the runner up table because they are 3rd in their group |
