Stephen Keshi and Christian Chukwu must be Yoruba then. How many indigenous coaches have we even had in the past 20 years to justify being this cynical?

Nigeria is not a giant sha. I agree with that one.
Dont mind them. We failed to qualify for 2012, 2015 and 2017 AFCON under indigenous coaches. Now, they are promoting them again, not that they are doing anything spectacular presently.

Eric Chelle’s contract details:

1. Two-year contract.

2. Option of another year, if he qualifies the Super Eagles to the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.

3. Chelle will come with three assistants, and will work with the crew on ground to enhance the Super Eagles’ brand.

4. He will be with the Super Eagles B, which is preparing for the upcoming 8th African Nations Championship, only in a supervisory role.

We are just deceiving ourselves we know we couldn't afford a foreign coach, then why don't we continue with Eguavoen as interim coach or do what we did years ago when Eguavoen led a consortium of local coaches and we ended up with an afcon bronze. The nff just fooled us for months claiming they were shopping for a coach only to end up with a coach they want to experiment with. At this stage of our football haba this is ridiculous and we are now using all manner of examples to justify this gamble. No wahala make we continue
Apart from the Libya away match that CAF awarded to Nigeria, Eguavoen only won 2 out of the 5 matches he managed and without away win. Recorded just 1pt out of possible 6 against Rwanda.

Best dribbler, that is Okocha but as far as skill is concerned Kanu tops
Any attribute that make kanu top? I can talk of okocha dribbling/ one on one take on, holding the ball well, good at free kick, passing the ball well, long range shots..Those are exceptional skills and I will pick him ahead of Kanu

Eric Chellea first two matches as coach of Mali
June 2024 (Mali 4-0 Congo)
June 2024 (S/Sudan 1-3 Mali)

Finidi first two matches
June 2024 (Nig 2-1 Gha)
June 2024(Nig 1-1 SA)

which one gives hope to stick faith with?
Finidi second match was against chelle led Malian team and he lost

We can't continue to make excuses to justify this nonsense just because we must appoint a coach. It's a disservice to our experienced indigenous coaches and if that is the case then let's pick an indigenous coach with a blank record. The idea of going foreign is because you think your indigenous coaches lacks something so why go for a foreign coach with a blank record. That's hypocrisy
No disrespect to our indigenous coaches, but Head to head, his record is better than any of them, at least for now. I didnt expect his appointment but as super Eagles fan, I need to support him

this is just a replica of what happened at the afcon vs CIV, Mali played direct and full attacking football…same last minute defensive error cost them again in this game…mali played Ghana hands down…as expected you don’t expect Ghana to be having all round bad games back to back na…this was after their poor afcon outing i gues…Ghana and CIV is bigger than mali in football, but mali played them clean clean
The same mistake he made against CIV at AFCON, late minute goals. I hope he had learnt from them. We can now see how unlucky he was with the 3 matches he lost out of 22 while coaching Mali...late minute goals..anyway, Nwabali will help out, na time waster...(just kidding).

Too sad we missed out on Domenec Torrent. That would have been one ambitious appointment.
NFF didn't have the cash for any high profile coach, they were just "courting" the government with big names, and the then sport minister made it known to them government not paying a dime. They don't really trust local coaches and Finidi case made it worst. Chris Hughton was on $50k salary when he was coaching Black Stars, that should be okay for NFF, but they went for Chelle, maybe more cheaper. To be honest, he did well with Mali. He was unlucky with the 3 matches he lost out of 22.
Bros, I am happy you are back. Happy New year sir.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by opes: 12:30pm On Jan 08, 2025
Maybe NFF couldn't secure sponsorship deal to pay foreign coach as anticipated and they believe Chelle is better and more experienced than our indigenous coaches, and affordable. His record with Mali not bad, some players protested his sack, even Mali government asked him to return back but he refused, as reported.
He may turn out to be good gamble, remember, Hervé Renard had a bad record before Zambia gambled on him and the result was good. I wish him good luck

Why are some northerners so obsessed with the presidency? When they were in power Banditry, illiteracy, hunger,Kidnapping thrived. Jonathan did more for the North than Buhari.

Northerners should focus on aggressively developing their region to catch up with the rest of the world, let other regions bring fresh ideas to the presidency. Right now the post is a curse to the North.
They claimed not to have enjoyed the presidency much in this 4th Republic. After Tinubu term, that would be 18 years of southern presidency, if he gets 2nd term, it becomes 22 years against north of 10 years, that is the frustration. But they enjoyed it much during the military rule.

Michael Nsien just said what we have been saying here...we don't dominate play even against Africa minnows, our Afcon style of play expose us more, yes we reached final.......well I will not appoint Nsien based on his experience so far, eagles is too big,I will rather go for Amunike than Nsien but if NFF technical department believes he can do it,no wahala, results will prove every coach right or wrong
I guess the interview was not recent, it was before Finidi got the job. With government involvement and interest in the world cup qualification now, NFF will surely employ a foreign coach

Atiku is still not giving up to rule Nigeria and his desperate ambition will cause problems again within his party. With Kwankwaso not joining Obi or Atiku coalition is an easy win for Tinubu, just as he did in 2023.

What will work majorly for Tinubu in 2027 is the last and final term he has. Even his Ambitious enemies within APC will want him to have the final 4 years so that by 2031 they can have a shot at presidency, than allowing another parties who will rule for 8 years.

I'm not privy to such donations. But I'm not saying she doesn't have a share of the blame. But for the government to abandon all responsibilities is very rascally. I'm sure the police would have been notified. Oriyomi Hamzat would never do such a program without police notification.

The idea of locking someone up in the prison indiscriminately is very egregiously cavemanlike...
It was poorly organised. They went on air, inviting 5,000 children of age 0-13, to a secondary school venue of 12ft entrance gate. They should expect the number to increase because those children will come with their parents. Why not use liberty or adamansingba stadium?
