PlayPays: I came to this forum after submitting my app, in my mind I only came here to use it as chill pills for my long wait then not knowing someone on this is forumn as been put in a position to help me when the trv trouble comes. After 2 months of my app and I've learned so much here making me understand my app wasn't perfect I decided to withdraw but that someone encouraged me not to, that i could be so blessed perfectly from that app I tot isn't perfect, 2 weeks later, I got my medical, the rest ofcos just story for the gods. Up till now I still remember that person in my prayers tho he wouldn't know the impact he made, to him it's just one of those advices he can give out.
I'm just using this post to encourage us that you don't know who is who here and you don't know who God can use and same time I'm apologizing to those my words have offended. During those days when we can storm cdch anyhow like a landlord wey wan go ask for rent. My first visit was when I met most people from here. I went with my guy who brought me here, tho I became active than him. We were just sitting jeje like pikin wey fart before elders and some people were busy talking about NL, talking about the different people here, those who are rude and those who are nice, they were mentioning names and all. My name was mentioned and a lot was said bout me, I was amazed. Another mate here who I had met earlier just came from nowhere and shouted my name and those people looked at me with their eye balls getting bigger than Segun Arinze's, Are you Playpays?! I answered Yes, see the way they rush me like when mosquitoes hear sey there's a fat neighbor who forgot to close his windows. I was glad by things said of me. if i was a bad fella that's how they would have rushed me with heavy beatings. One of the reason why I will always be loyal to all here, you don't know where you will meet another person from here.

Liz2014: But I don't think its a must to do medicals before trv. don't know about study permits though, but I got the same email yesterday on behalf of my mum and she don collect her passport stamped with visa. I applied 4th august.
I know of people who's had trvs without medicals.
So wait till your dispatched passport arrives before jumping into conclusion.

PlayPays: Thanks for this. People have tried it and came back here to report how they couldn't get it done. Ideally they will only renew for 6months or less validity and someone just mentioned about writing a letter to abuja alongside ur school acceptance letter, which sounds good.

Jaydenehis: it can be re-issued,only letting you know because it is our job. I am not saying maybe or maybe not.i work with immigration so I was only giving my advice because I tot it cud help. People whose passport expires nxt year June renew @ my command and this is not hear-say. Like I said before,everything is at the discretion of the passport control officer in each state because he/she heads the unit. @ your comment 'anything can happen in Nigeria' it is done legally because at least they apply through the head and not back door. You were probably at a strict command or at the SHQ and met an officer who is on the strict side. Good luck

if it is done legally why should one spend extra amount and the normal rule should be 12months and not 6months then...which one is head and back door,lol...people that pays for express, you attend to them immediately and you leave those that have been waiting for weeks just because they don't have money for express!,is that legal?is that head or back door Infact it's the people that paid normal amount that are kept at the back door! Jaydenehis: NIS can issue you a new passport with 9months validity. Go to your nearest state command or passport office. At the command where I work,they do so but charge a little extra.

nah..my passport expires march 15 2015,i was at NIS august and they told me to wait till sept 15...I don't think a 9month valid passport can be renewed,well it's nigeria,anything can happen

Cufs: Buh my passport is valid for about 10months. Maybe renewing it before they advise sm1 to do so may be a better idea. Just thinking#

NIS won't do it for you until it's 6months to the expiry date,you can still use it if it's still valid for 10months

So I am using a sponsor and a co-sponsor. Sponsor has a letter from the bank that says money in fixed deposit is for my studies. Co-sponsor wants to go swear affidavit tomorrow but doesn't know what to swear to since my sponsor stated he would cover all but not restricted to tuition, travelling, medical etc costs.

So, What do you think can be in my co-sponsor's affidavit of sponsorship. Can he say that he is willing to sponsor anything not covered by my primary sponsor or he is willing to sponsor all the things stated by my sponsor or he is willing to sponsor me with a specific and stated amount of money per year for the duration of my studies in addition to that of my sponsor? Abeg which one of the affidavits scenarios would hold more water?

By extension, I guess this is just a specific way of asking the generic question "What else would a co-sponsor agree to sponsor that is not covered by the primary sponsor?"
