As at this morning, the banks have been directed not to receive old notes again. It's possible most banks will not open today owing to the uproar and agitation this might caused.

No sir,
Your total pay out would 100K + ((100k * 6 * 30)/(100*365)) = 100,493
Thanks sir,

CompareDBest:
Yes, most commercial banks do 30, 60 and 90 days. Some, e.g. Stanbic IBTC, also do 120, 150, 180, 360/365 etc. You can see some rates by following the links on https://comparedbest.com/ng/nigerian-commercial-banks.html

The best rates are also summarised on https://comparedbest.com/ng/best-nigerian-fixed-deposit-rates.html

Thank you sir.
For clarity sake, for instance if l deposit 100k with First bank for 30days, with their rate of 6% does that mean the interest will be 6k on is there a calculation around it. Thanks
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by opydan: 9:15pm On Aug 26, 2019
Bamz:

The stop rate refers to the maximum interest rate preferred/issued by the CBN out of all the bids submitted within a bid window. It then means that all the bid rates that fall from and below the accepted marginal rates (stop rate) will win and those above rejected.

Thanks sir, so it has nothing to do with my bank.

Also, l heard that some bank like 1st bank are doing short term (like 30, 60 days) fixed deposit. Did anyone know anything about this.

Thanks

ambode is doing nothing if you care to know. All he does is give those sensitive project to road side contractors that are constructing rubbish compare to what Fashola did 9yrs ago and are still standing firm on the ground and sight. Ambode shld do and getout.

You are correct. Nobody knows the name of the company handling the project. Even there is no name on any of their equipment. Maybe anybody that knows should say it here.

Moreover, in the masterplan of Lagos that Ambode jettisoned, that is not what is planned for the expansion of the road.

l wish him well though
Politics / Re: Ambode: From Governor-General To Political Orphan - By Temidayo Akinsuyi by opydan: 10:03am On Mar 22, 2019
Mynd44:

That is the problem. You stay on the island, in Epe and you judge from there that Ambode performed until you take a trip to Alimosho, Agege, FESTAC, Iyana Iba and you see hell.

Mind you, Alimisho and Agege are huge voting blocks. First of, while the bridge at Abule Egba was lovely, how do you explain Ambode's building a BRT lane in the middle of Lagos-Abeokuta expressway and at the same time building a bridge in Agege? While these are projects that are needed, they are also roads that take people to work and back home daily

These roads serve as main and alternative roads hence fixing them at the same time only means people will get home at 10:30 etc. The normal thing a government with human side will do is to do remedial job on one, concentrate on the second and when that is done, start main work on the second.

Akowonjo road is a mess, Shasha is a mess. The inner roads in Iyana Ipaja……

Ambode has for some reason abandoned the Badagry expressway. Why? No one knows. Putting those people through mad torture daily yet he shows pictures of Epe expressway which started after Badagry road.

The Ambode government is also seen as weak and ineffective hence why motorcycles are back on the roads

Lets move to waste. Lagos stinks. His cancellation of the PSP was crap and pointless. This was a system that works and employed almlost 25,000 people including street sweepers and suddenly, the governor cancelled it. If it was cancelled for one that worked it would have made sense but no. Cleaner Lagos was an ill-thought idea that is on its own, ground for impeachment.

Housing. I know about 3 housing projects that were finished by the Fashola administration in Ikorodu, Alimosho, Iyana Iba, Jakande Estate etc. These houses have begun completed and all that is needed is ballot and allocation but Governor Ambode left the houses and put them under lock for no reason. Another valid ground for impeachment.

It is these things people complain about but to those who dont observe, they think it is because of bribes or party funding. You ended the jobs of 25,000 people working under the PSP program and assumed there wont be consequencies.

Look at the monstrusity being built at Oshodi. That project depresses me……the funds sunk there can be used to build jetties and buy ferries to take people from Badagry, Ikorodu and Iyana Iba to the island daily thereby easing the traffic. But this is Governor Ambode. He believes in "Go big or go home"

Anybody that is close to governance in Lagos will know that Ambode is failure.

Moreover the writer should specify Ambode achievements in education, health, laspark, environment, etc

l foresaw his failure at the 2nd year of his administration when sycophants were saying he has performed more than 8years of fashola in 2years and he also was dancing to it

At the 6th month of his tenure, a staff of governor's office said with the way and style of his governance, he will not secure 2nd term.

Anyway, l wish him well, but l hope he has learnt his lessons.

Politics / Re: Olawale Oluwo, Ambode Commissioner Resigns From APC by opydan: 2:05pm On Dec 05, 2018
DTaj:
A lot of ignorant comments yet again!

I know Wale Oluwo, the Commissioner who resigned, very well. He was an investment banker at BGL of those days. He is a friend.

If an elected official with electoral value resigned, APC Lagos could worry, but not an elite appointee of Ambode!

Friendship apart, Wale can’t even win the polling booth in front of his house; that is the truth. So, people foaming in the mouth about this, should just shut up their traps.

Talking about Ambode’s potentially sneaky last-minute moves, any politician can only turn the tides IF he has the structure. “Political structure”, in today’s Lagos (and to an extent in states like Oyo, Kwara, etc) include the following:

1. Transport union members and the various EXCOs
2. Community Development Associations (CDAs)
3. Local government chairmen and their staff
4. Traditional rulers across the 4 divisions of Lagos
5. Market women and men groups and associations, including the Iyaloja, who, today, is Tinubu’s daughter
6. Party members rooted in streets of core voting areas of Lagos- Alimosho (the local government with the highest registered voters in Nigeria!), Oshodi, Lagos Island.

In today’s Lagos, both Ambode and regular customer Jimi Agbaje have no structure. It is pathetic for Agbaje in particular, as the few strong men who gave him any form of structure in 2015 have since joined APC- people like Musiliu Obanikoro and Moshood Salvador, the immediate past Lagos PDP Chairman, and the 7 members of the House of Assembly!

Jimi Agbaje launched his campaign last week in Lekki Phase 1. Elitist Lekki Phase 1? How many people vote there? And he picked an unknown woman from the corporate sector, as a deputy, when APC picked Hamzat, a technocrat who is also a politician! Jimi Agbaje’s advisers are morons.

Winning elections is not an elitist thing; it is not about social media rants. 80% of voters in Nigeria do not even own smartphones that can access data for social media rant! That is the plain truth!

you have said it all

I never knew people hear about this until today. Part of the reason was that they protested for their 8months allowance to be paid. You refused to regularise them as planned only to issue a memo to sack them.

You just raised a valid point.
Ambode really messed up big time. Aside his offence to the politicians, he virtually stepped on so many toes. He behaves like an emperor. He never listened to people.
He sacks at will. l remember a set of workers in primary health centres he sacked in September last year. what was the reason: they worked for 8 months without salary and they protested to be paid. the next thing is sack memo to all MOHs in the local government.
the list is just endless
People stood by fashola then, even the market women that he dealt with in his first tern stood solidly by when tinubu was against him.
but for ambode, the reverse is the issue.
