Horpe64: Hi Nairalanders, Pls I need your help I got a job offer from a Governor as the best graduating student in my school. After my nysc, I met with my HOD and even the school admin to help me process the job but no response from them. Someone just told me about going directly to the Governor's office/Secretariat to submit my application. pls I would like to know, do you think its ok to do that and even if, how do I go about it? Are you in good terms with the present HOD? Everything boils down to his desk. Write a formal application to the school, through the department; copy the Dean of the Faculty and make reference to the slot given to you by the Governor. Most times, the government is not the issue but the individual who are opportune to flex power. I understand your predicament as I am presently in your shoes. But, one thing is certain your fate is not tied to a man. Also, don't depend on their job; seek other opportunities and possible apply for international scholarships to leave this country and go to where your intellects can be appreciated. I wish you all the best. |

Darlingme: The aim is to visit new environment, travel within, have some time alone, experience new things, have fun and meet new people. For those in Lagos, where can you recommend for a newbies in Lagos for a Christmas vacation?
Quite environment, affordable, beautiful, decent people around, close to the beach and safe? Thank you La Champagne Tropicana in Ibeju Lekki. That's a different environment in the struggle of Lagos. Although, for the costing; I wouldn't know what is affordable for you as the term maybe different for another individual. Just peg your minimum as 300,000NGN for 5days treat. Epe Resort and Spa. This is also a beautiful place to be, you can have the feel of nature in Lagos state. It is located in the outskirts of Lagos. The budget is also similar to La Champagne Tropicana. Alternatively, you can decide to lodge in a hotel on the mainland part of Lagos. Average 4star hotel, is between 20,000 to 25,000NGN/Night. While you use Bolt/Uber to navigate to beautiful places like Lekki Conservation centre, the beach, clubs and other night hang out. Lagos is safe at all night. Here, you can spend 200,000NGN for both lodging and cruising for 5-7days. |

Fabulousa3: Hi everyone,
Here's my story, I kept putting on weight and getting bloated with frequent pelvic pain. So I went for scan and it turns out that I have multiple fibroids and bulky uterus
I have been to many hospitals within Lekki in Lagos and the price I'm hearing is from N1.5M to 2.8M shocked
Im actually new in Lagos and I dont know where to go. I've heard of open myomectomy, fibroid embolization and radiofrequency ablation
Please I need suggestions on very experienced hospitals and quite affordable place to do mine and have my life back.
Thanks to everyone's input on this Hospitals in Lagos are over-hyped. If you have anybody in the East, I will advise you to visit Kanayo Hospital in Awka Road, Onitsha Anambra State. My elder sister had hers there, and it came out successfully; and she conceived afterwards. We went down to the East. He is a renowned Specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. I wish you quick recovery. Also, don't listen to people that will sell herbal products to you. It will only complicate you. |

Diorl: Hello everyone and Happy Sunday to y'all. I'm in need of clarification on this issue. I made findings on the differences between University of Applied Sciences and Universität/Technical Universities in Germany for Masters program and I found out that the formal doesn't seem to prepare one for research study like the latter and they also focus more on practical than theory. Does this mean attending Uni. Of Applied Sciences is a waste of time for someone who wishes to pursue a Doctoral program eventually?
How easy will it be to obtain a Ph.d admission into a Technical University with a Masters degree qualification from a university of Applied Sciences? In essence, won't the awarded certificate be subjected to discrimination both home and abroad? (because as I found out, it's more a less a vocational college in Nigeria) ..or it's not as bad as I think? I don't think it has anything to do with PhD. The difference is just like University of Technology and Ordinary University; just in the case of Nigeria. Whichever way, you can still apply and be selected for your PhD if you decided to further your studies. |
