StOla:Wow thats cool. Thanks for the info. |
laudate:you the boss now. |
laudate:http://www.adkanservices.com.ng/ construction, paints, food etc. I came across a satchet of De Royal noodles while viewing this thread so I decided to google the company that produces it. I discovered it's produced by Royal Mills and Food a subsidiary of Adkan Group whose CEO is one Adeyinka Bibilari . |
laudate:ok bro. Has Adkan Group been posted ? |
Yemi Osunkoya - Kosibah laudate, do you know if Alistair Soyode of BenTV is Yoruba? |
When TRIPOB was put together to antagonise IPOB,most Igbos were quick to expose them for who they were - paid hacks. But since these individuals bear Yoruba names, most of them don't want to think the same here. |
Statsocial:Now that Ajimobi seems to be focusing on the new technical uni,one wonders how Lautech will cope. |
elantraceey:Controversy. Controversy sells. If there wasn't a sex scene in the movie,no one will be talking about it as fervently as it's being discussed. The movie industry's saturated with talents and films,so you'll need to push the boundary for you to enjoy the attention of the media and viewers. |
ephi123:Dangote is giving out this cheque of over N50 million to 220 victims who are both Yoruba and Hausa.” http://leadership.ng/2017/07/11/dangote-foundation-donates-n50m-victims-yoruba-hausa-clash-ile-ife/ He's at liberty to give to only Hausas though. Ooni of Ife and other Yoruba leaders should be the ones to help their kinsmen. |
Jonathan39:Biafrans never thought they would be returning to Nigeria. Such details were hardly committed to mind. Most emptied their accounts before relocating. |
QueenOfNepal:You read the article didn't you? The 20 Pounds was given to them ex-gratia.Extrapolate whatever meaning you want from that and you'll get your answer. How many Biafrans kept their Nigerian bank documents till the end of the civil war? And do you expect Awolowo as the Finance Minister to allow the swapping of Biafran Pounds(a currency not recognised globally) for their Nigerian equivalents? Interestingly, while you'll vilify Awolowo over the 20 Pounds saga you and your likes will never acknowledge Awolowo's efforts towards the recovery of the Eastern Region that even SG Ikoku the Commissioner for Economic Development in the East Central State attested to.Why?Selective amnesia? |
irepnaija4eva:what the author of the article is saying is that 20 Pounds were given to those who could not provide evidence of having money in Nigerian banks. But the widely held belief is that every Igbo received 20 Pounds regardless of their savings. "The bottom line here is that the issue of this 20 pound gift has become an instrument of blackmail in the hands of Biafran leaders like Achebe who would try to avoid responsibility for the harm they caused their own people. They had to look for someone to blame and Obafemi Awolowo came handy for this. How can any Igbo blame others for losing his Bank Statement? If they could not substantiate their claims in regard to their balances, how did they expect to be paid? Or did they think the rest of Nigerians were fools who would rush to pay any spurious claims they make? Granted that the war could have caused the loss of some documents, why would this be the fault of Awolowo? Is this not a sign of irresponsibility on the part of Achebe and other leaders of Biafra?" The excerpt above sums it up. |
conductor11:Post the lies in the article |
PenisCaP:Post the lies in the article |
shukuokukobambi:Thanks. |
Errm... I know this is a thorny topic, but am curious. What exactly is the function of the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland? Why isn't he the one to declare when fasting begins to the Muslims among us? No malice intended. |
There's a need to create nationalistic feelings in the hearts of Yorubas both young & old. A situation where most Yorubas only think Nigeria is unacceptable and a stumbling block. Charity begins at home: The development of Yoruba enclave should be our primary concern. Waiting for Nigeria as a whole to be great is waste of time as the country is a welter of different people with divergent mores, beliefs and aspirations. The focus should be on Yorubaland. This is the mindset we should have in Nigeria today. ** In a Yoruba country, children must be taught the language. The belief that kids must speak only English is borne out of inferiority complex and must not be condoled. I firmly believe once the fire of patriotism burns in our people - every other thing shall fall in place. |
whizraymond:can't resist the temptation to quote this post type a "lol" beneath it. |
Seun:Nice. |
laudate:spoken like an old member of nl who knows their way. Thanks for mentioning that site. I'll check it out. |
Olu317:the funny thing is that while that thread got deleted, there are some meaningless threads still surviving in this section. |
JohnXcel:Same here. Well I don't know o. Apart from those two threads, there's one created by a markfemi2 moniker that got deleted too. I can't remember the title. Something needs to be done. |
deedeedee1:Why? The thread was civil. |
Are the mods deleting Yoruba threads? Or am the one imagining it? I tried checking the Constitution draft thread created by ooduapathfinder this morning.I could not find. Same with mayoroflagos's thread. |
deedeedee1:SirShymmexx not shyshymexx |
pazienza:Don't get me wrong.I don't think it was an an Igbo coup. That label's a result of the inability of some of the coupists to dispatch the Eastern leaders like they did to those of the North and the West. Here again is one of the reasons why your claim does not add up. There's no way Aguiyi Ironsi could have survived a coup meant to free Awolowo from prison since he was not in cahoots with the plotters. That would have been a very costly mistake.Nothing would have been smoother than to get rid of him for Ogundipe(a Yoruba like Awolowo) to take over. But he survived, and he was Igbo like the leaders who were spare. One starts to wonder how Awolowo will plan a coup and leave such key figures from the East out of his hitlist. The treason and corruption charges were meant to discredit Awolowo. While I don't think he was infallible, the circumstances that led it shows it was all an attempt to weaken his influence in the West. After the skirmsh in the Western HouseAdegbenro's request for police presence fell on deaf ears,a state of emergency was declared.Zik signed the Emergency Regulation Act.Majekodunmi was appointed as the Administrator.A restriction order was placed on Awolowo and some others. The Coker Commission was set up to investigate him. Can't you see how these events are closely knitted together? Is this fair to you? They used the crack in the AG to push forward all those allegations. You said they wanted to make him President.A gang of coupists with such an aim will make no bones about wiping out the Eastern leaders too. The Leaders of the North and West shouldn't have been the only ones marked, going by your claim. There's no antecedent. What you have is a weak excuse for why he was jailed. |
pazienza:Do you have any evidence that directly links him to the coup? A statement by any of the coup plotters or something of that nature. Concluding that because Fajuyi was a Yoruba(fajuyi's involvement is still debatable)and was at the Battle Course with Nzeogwu et al. Makes Awolowo the reason for the coup is a farfetched. He was not released by Ironsi after the putsch. How do you stage a coup for some1 and not release him afterwards? The treasonable felony charge was put together by Balewa and Akintola to ensure that he was imprisoned since his arrest came on the heels of the fracas in the Western House between Akintola and Dauda Adegbenro. Balewa sided with Akintola and ensured that he was reinstated even when the Awolowo & the majority wanted him to leave his seat. How does it makes sense? You mean he'll record himself planning a coup with Jakande and the rest? Well Zik was a rival, directly or indirectly. So why would he have spared Zik? And for someone like Awolowo who you all often call a tribalist for his commitment to the Yoruba nation,I don't think he'll allow any Igbo take part in a coup he intend to stage, whether as pawns or not. It's unlike him. |
Should I research and post their details here, or would you do the honours?
