Now waiting for my second choice 'UNIPORT' for her supplementary list and for the double portion of admission my God has granted me this year. I salute my Ogas here!

substitute eqn ii into eqn i:

take log of both sides;
logx = log2^(x^2)
logx = x^2log2
divide both sides by x^2 and log with log cancel:
logx/x^2 = x^2log2/x^2
1/x = 2
if 1/x is the inverse to 2 therefore x = 1/2

substitute x = 1/2 into eqn ii:
y = (1/2)^2
y = 1/4

to check, substitute x or y into the eqns:
x = 2(1/4); x = 1/2
y = (1/2)^2; y = 1/4
