Chibombom:
Pls i need an advice on this. I just graduated not long from a federal polytechnic, i'm still yet to serve(nysc) i'm 25 years old and my uncle ( with a uk passport) is asking for my certificate to bring me to the uk to futher. Please what program can i do without serving or is it possible to reduce my age to like 19or20 and pursue my football dream hopefully in the uk
well if you reduce your age to 19 or 20 the immigration officers may not be convinced that it is your true age. Your question just reminds me of a guy who posed as a 17 year old and the immigration officer did not buy his story even after bringing his father and a birth certificate from NPC.

If you have some IT knowledge maybe now is the time to develop it further

Hi I am a young girl of 23. Done with my masters and currently dating a guy...he is nice and all, puts up with all my bullshit (i could just stay and not pick his calls for a week, i don't show enthusiasm to visit or see him, keep him waiting for hours etc) and he still loves me. We don't even have sex sef. He's basically perfect except for one detail. He is not ambitious. He doesn't have money and is just satisfied with recieving not up to 100k everyend of the month. Doesn't strive for better or anything. And he wants to get married.

Sometimes i think of things like the wedding. Who will pay for it?  And other things. He doesn't even give me money. Not that i feel entitled or anything. But like 6k in like 3 months, even when i was a student. Thats bad abeg. I'm currently not working but soon will as a lecturer. And I'm usually mostly broke for now cos i just defended my thesis. Sometimes I'm ashamed to tell my friends i have a boyfriend cos of all the things their boyfriends do for them and all he doesn't do for me. He is starting to pressure me for marriage and to be honest, im not ready for all that right now. I don't want to get married to someone that has no ambition. Just merely wishful thinking. I'm more of books and not exactly business minded so i should get married to someone who is. I don't want to suffer in anyones house tbvh. There are somethings he does that i think about and know that he actually loves me. But on my own i dont miss him or think of him or anything whatsoever. As he's pressuring me now, if i decide to break up on the basis that I'm not ready, he will be very ready to wait till whenever. I don't know what to do. I dont want to string him along. If i see someone right now that is ambitious and generous and all the good qualites i need, i wont even think twice bout leaving him. I feel bad that it will really hurt him cos he's a good person. He will make a good husband if he was comfortable at least and very smart and ambitious.  He's just there. I tire o. What should i do?
does he have some savings he has made to cater for the wedding cost ask him how much he has to that effect?

as a contract staff he may be fortunate that his employers may make his stay a permanent job, does his bank give opportunities for contract staffs to apply and change their employement status through tests and interview?

you hope to get a job as a lecturer, if that sails through don't you feel your income and his can build a home together?

it seems being the academic type you would love to get married to someone in the academia say a lecturer or someone in the medical field

also your post shows you don't love him now and may not have in the past, please kindly have a heart to heart talk based on your post and it must cover all issues including this comment. it may seem tough but you have to do it

its unfortunate he is not seeing the handwriting on the wall that you are not into him as much as he is to you. for a relationship to succeed both parties must be on same page

BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery Will Transform Nigeria’s Economy by osato45: 5:49am On Apr 08, 2019
Esseite:
The moment the refinery kicks off, subsidy should be removed, although a more transparent subsidy system would be in place if still carried on. Dangote would sure race a lot of oil and gas companies out of business.

Good one Dangote, but if oil and gas coys are seeing the future and the steps dangote is taking, why are they not trying to give him competition on a refinery level?
The sole reason for this, is that the world is moving away from fossil fuels to cleaner energies due to climate change.

I am more bothered that most security teams assigned to escort bullion vans bearly put on armed vests. Because in the wake of an ambush, they would bear the brunt, hence endangering their lives for a money that is insured already. This protocol should be revised and addressed.

And U think dat us more lucrative dan other business ventures? Correct me if I'm wrong 15% of 10m amounts to 1.5m a year which is equivalent to 125k a month
You can invest that 10m in any biz and still have nothing to show forth. why because this is nigeria and our biz environment is harsh. Why not allow your money work for you while you finally get grip on a biz idea that is worth investing. I mean understanding the pros and cons of the biz idea, if possible understudy a firm that does same biz you want to do, so you don't squander your money away

Hmmm!. The courses taken by physiology and medicine students are they the same?
In all honesty no.
EducationRe: Taking Physiology Seriously Or Getting Dentistry by osato45: 5:56pm On Feb 25, 2019
asuustrike1:
I know all that but why would a medical student especially physiology graduate start from year two in medicine when he had done most of the courses with medicine students?
Its the admission policy, Direct entry for most courses in Nigeria is year 2. It's very rare to see them start you on year 3.
EducationRe: Taking Physiology Seriously Or Getting Dentistry by osato45: 5:45pm On Feb 25, 2019
asuustrike1:
Why should he start from year two ? Don't physiology students take the same course with dentistry, anatomy and medicine?
Why I said 200 level is he would take jamb direct entry form and if he is fortunate once given admission he would start from 200l. But if he does jamb and post time he would start 100l if given admission
EducationRe: Taking Physiology Seriously Or Getting Dentistry by osato45: 11:02am On Feb 25, 2019
horpeyemmi66:
Thanks for your prompt answer, I believe one has to present an NYSC discharge certificate before one can be considered for direct entry.
No you don't have to, because you are going back to school.
It's only when you are to study for a Pgde, master's or PhD that you have to provide your discharge certificate. So this would save you time.

If you doubt my information, you can check the requirement for direct entry for dentistry at any university of your choice. Check the jamb brochure, Google it online or ask questions at the faculty officer of your prospective course.

I am in my penultimate year studying Physiology at the University of Ibadan, I have gotten Jamb's UTME form in which I applied to study dentistry at ABU, Zaria, should I concentrate more on the UTME (Since the job prospects of Physiology are few) or take the Physiology seriously?

Cc olawalebabs, Fynestboi, Richiez
Well you have two options.

1. Take your Physiology serious and finish with a good result. Afterwards proceed to pick direct entry for dentistry which would start you at 200 Level. Doing this would mean you won't mobilize for nysc.

2. Take jamb as back up so either way, you may get one out of the two
PoliticsRe: Why Can't Nigerian's Register Anywhere And Vote Anywhere? by osato45: 12:28pm On Feb 23, 2019
[quote author=oglalasioux post=76027455]If that is allowed then it means you can register in your constituency then on election day you vote in another constituency thereby electing someone you don't know and won't impact on your immediate environment.

It can't even be done in a presidential election because to be a president, one must have at least 25% of votes cast in 2/3 of the 36 states and the FCT. How can you achieve that when everyone that registered in Anambra votes in Lagos?

It can be done. Those who wish to vote in the polling units in their LGA of origin would need to travel and cast their votes. Very simple. It would save inec the cost of relocating persons

Or she can try the New Zealand route. I hear it's easier to get licensed there as a midwife than as a nurse.
on this thread someone posted a guideline to being registered as a midwife in New Zealand. Which is very helpful but they need you to have had atleast 3years experience as a midwife, taken atleast 30 deliveries, assisted for 20 and observed for another 50.

JoannaSedley:
Midwifery in USA is a graduate entry job while in Canada she needs to register with their midwifery board which is like a camel passing through the eye of a needle. If you can sponsor her to do an abridgement program in any Canadian university it will be worth it but darn expensive.
Another option is the New Zealand board of midwives... You gotta brace up as studying midwifery before RN is a pain in the ass If you wish to travel out.
Thank you for your candid advice, we would start looking out for admission into school of nursing in nigeria then because I do not have such resources.
