All I see here is maturity, empathy and true sense of humor. Keep it up, it will surely come back to you, when you truly need it. Tallesty1: I’m going to spend much more than I initially planned.
I had a similar experience during COVID. I asked a friend to help me cook a particular soup that I didn’t know how to make. When she finished, I suggested we eat together, but she declined. Instead, she asked if she could take some soup home so she could buy fufu and feed her family because there was no food at home.
I gave her enough to cook a full meal for her family. I don’t joke around when it comes to my family, so when I see someone who cares deeply about theirs, it makes me happy.
But I couldn't give her just soup because I didn’t know how her father would feel if she returned home with soup from my place. It seemed better for her to cook something herself so everyone would think it came from her. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: My Abusive Boss Broke My Head And Doesn't Want To Pay Me by osculatedon(m): 12:37pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Tryagain77: I saw a post on this forum which looks similar to mine and that inspired me into writing this to share with people how my boss (former) was abusing me.
I graduated from one of the courses in social science in one of the federal universities and have been job hunting to land a good job but to no avail.
Bills were piling up while I was going down economically. Out of hunger, lack and frustration, I settled to work as a barman in a hotel.
A week after resuming that work, the man that the hotel is leased out to started showing me his true colours. Nobody is above mistake in life. Even minor things that could have been settled without raising eyebrows, he would shout at me and abuse me right in front of customers. He would use derogatory words to describe me and say all sort of inhumane things to me, all to show that he's the boss.
Despite all that, I couldn't leave because I had no other job option at hand. For the 9 months I have worked in the place, these are the things I went through.
1. I have been verbally and physically abused by the said man. There is no kind of derogatory and inhumane word that man has not used on me and most times, right in the presence of customers and also when in the presence of the girls he brings to sleep with.
Note: this is how he behaves with all the staff, not only me.
2. He kicked me, slapped me, knocked my head, spat on me, yelled at me. Calling me a fool, an idiot, useless something etc, was no longer anything worrisome to me again because I got used to it.
3. Because of all these abuses, his friends who use to come there took advantage and started abusing me too. One slapped me the other day because I presented a bill he thought I surcharged him, which we later found out I didnt. I don't blame him actually.
4. You would work 2 months plus before you receive 1 month salary. For example, you would receive January salary between 10-15th of March.
5. Salary was N25,000 but I have never received that amount complete. He always look for something accuse me of in order to deduct our so called salary and pay less. There was a month I received N7000 as my salary.
6. Any customer that breaks a glass pays N1000 for it. When he first mentioned this in a meeting, we thought he was joking, but he was being serious. When he started deducting my salary for broken glasses, then I realized he was serious. I have never heard anything of such anywhere before. That a customer who breaks glass should pay N1000 for it.
What happened on the 23rd of May. 23rd of May was his birthday. He invited friends and celebrated. Right in his presence, one of the guests broke a glass. I'm the only one serving both the bar and guests in the room including food. So it was a very busy time for me. Just because I didn't sweep the broken glass immediately because I was busy serving people, as I wanted to pass, he shouted angrily at me, aimed me with the broken glass and broke my head. I was bleeding and I left the place to a pharmacy to treat the wound. Guess what? He was not even remorseful about it at all.
The following day I tendered a resignation letter with immediate effect. Obviously if I don't leave the place, the man may kill me or make me do something I will later regret.
Now pay me off, he's telling me I need to work again at least another one month for him to find a replacement, if I'm serious about receiving my outstanding salary or I should forget about it. Even at that, I know too well that he will pay me anything he likes, claiming glasses were broken, I did this and I did that. Presently he's looking for job seekers but nobody wants to work with such a crude person anymore. Even someone he sacked as usual over two months ago, he's not been able to replace till today.
Now I'm jobless, hungry and penniless.
I need advice on how to go about to collect my money from this man. I don't have strength for any fight with him. I just need my hard earned money but let it not be until another blood is spilled.
Story of a struggling Nigerian. This is very simple, report him to a strong deity in your community or outside your community. Ensure everything you are saying is true. He will pay you back with interest and will stop treating people like trash. |

Can you remind me again, who filed the suit for live coverage of the election tribunal proceedings? One illiterate from Osogbo is pointing finger on the rightful owner of the mandate in contention. Lets i forget, remind me again between ur candidate and mine, who talks intelligent and civil? who has a verifiable source of livelihood? Who among them, has for once named his school mate or class mate? who among them has never been associated with drugs and conviction? Village Osogbo boy! You need a refund from your school, except you are blindly bigoted. I will understand LeoDeKing: I have said it, I will say it again?
Why should court proceedings be altered because of one incompetent illiterate hiding his incompetence behind religion to get power?
Buhari filed cases at the Presidential Petition Tribunal, there was no live broadcast.
Atiku did same, no live broadcast
Even obituarist did same at state level, no live broadcast.
And I believe there is a legal purpose for that.
Why then should the legal process be abused because of one illiterate who can't pass ordinary Philosophy in school? Is this the first time there will be Election Petition Tribunal? |

blackaxe78: Gibberish!
Is this a quack lawyer!
So Kanu accepted that he is the leader of IPOB, Which happens to have been declared a terrorist organization by the Federal Government of Nigeria
This is how lawyers lead you to jail Read in-between the lines and try as much as possible to think and reason logically. Ipob was proscribed by a high court and is being challenged by the legal team at the higher court, on that note, untill the higher court upholds the decision of the high court, it unintelligent for you to refer them as a terrorist organization. On that note every intelligent man will not accept to be a member of a proscribed Ipob except when you address it rightly (by simply asking him if he is a member of Ibob not are you the leader of the proscribed IPOB). Think before you write |

Christianity Etc › Re: CAMA: FG Says Religious Bodies Must Submit Details Of Their Finances by osculatedon(m): 7:57pm On Aug 22, 2020 |
I must commend your well articulated facts, gullible people are blinded my their religious indoctrination which has made them to lack the ability to think outside the box. Religion has taken us back than we thought and regulating their activities is for our best interest . I rest case TonyeBarcanista: Those against CAMA Amendment are either ill-informed or mischievous.
In sane societies like USA, South Africa, UK, Europe, Australia etc, there are agencies that regulate religious organisations, CSOs and NGOs. Why should Nigeria's be different?
Some people said it is a fight against the church, and I ask, which Church?
If the Bible is right, the Church is the congregation of believers. It is not a building or religious organisation. And believers don't need any formal nomenclature or organisation to worship. The Bible says where two or three are gathered, CHRIST is present. The Bible never said people should establish organisations, neither did the early Christians establish organisations.
Now let's look this....
A man wakes up on a faithful morning, he approaches CAC (Government) to register his organisation, which he names XYZ Church
He lists himself, his wife, Kids or associates as Trustees
He gets certificate from the government to operate...
Yet, he argues with the government that they have no right to regulate the activities of the same organisation that he went to government to register.
He shouts persecution, war against the church and God.
Meanwhile, he is the final authority and CEO in the religious organisation, and won't hesitate to show the exit door to anyone that questions his authority.
The irony is that he abides to similar laws abroad...
As much as I'm not a fan of this administration, I support this CAMA... Although Nigeria politicians are useless
FACT:
FG or any other government cannot regulate the "Church" (congregation of believers). Even the Roman government couldn't regulate the Church.
However, government can only regulate religious organisations (formal organizations) that are registered with the government in line with the constitutional mandate.
The rule is simple, don't register your organisation with government if you don't want to be regulated... Same way you don't register your business and NGO with government if you don't want their regulation... |
