am a democrat n as such respect d rule of law n fairness
if indeed GEJ said sumtin abt automatic ticket den is shld be condem without fear or favour bt if he was misunderstood n as such only endorse dem like dey did to him den i dont see any problem wit dat
howeva,i must be quick to point out dat i see too much desperation on d part of Gej to remain in power beyond 2011

Kobojunkie:
uumm . . . . are you sure you read the article?

What OFFICIAL CIRCLE are you referring to there? She was not there referring to official documents or whatever you claim it is there. So, where do you get that from? She was making a general statement there and there is no indication that the VISITING GROUP there is an official group of any kind. I don't understand how a reality show can be considered OFFICIAL in any sense. lol
yes i read it well

i could have love to respond to the above with all iota of seriousness but your inclusion of lol to d last makes me understand that u r nt serious or was merely joking.
nevertheless offcial is anything that relating to the role of government
a little discretion here b4 i continue

how wil u have felt if dey have use d word bleep in such a visit to a government minister

now from the above statement i want to draw that since u r meeting a government minister your language atleast should be formal among other things expected of you in such a formal cycle. and in this regard they fail to use the appopriate name of the country NIgeria in the present of the minister.

i hope u get ma point.

why are people intentionally getting this message wrong
she was saying naija should nt be replace for Nigeria in official cycle
beside the word naija connote a negative impression outside the country
the only time people outside nigeria use dat word is when they want to say something negative about the country.

naija is not the abbreviated format for nigeria NIG or NG are

even in US and Britian as people claim they not use worlds like yank or yankee in official cycle and even if they do that does not make it right or wrong

i challenge u poster on this how many times have in heard an American in high position in an official cycle referred to the US as yankee

please reason before u write and nt the other way round

thanks

Politics › Re: Say No To 'NAIJA' - Akunyili by osifred(m): 9:02pm On Nov 16, 2010
Dora is not a fool so am sure she think before she speaks atleast.

i think pple are intentionally getting this wrong so as to tarnish the image of one of Africans most outstanding women of this generation.
Naija is not an abbreviation of Nigeria as some people are saying NIG or NG are.

she is saying since it is niether the official name or abbreviated for it should not be use in official activities

yank or yankee, uncle sam etc use to describe America cannot never be seen in official quarters in America.

pls pleople it is nt a must to post in every thread so dont  if u dont have a reasonable thing to post and pls stop abusing the lady as she is old enough to be your mother and some of you can nt achieve better than her even if u find urself in her position 2morow

beside if you trace the origin and general usage of NAIJA u wil know it has sum negative connotation even though now pple r using it in d right direction

Dawdy:
Leadership is not meant for womem. Amongs d prophets god sent, starting from nouah, abraham, isaac, jacob joseph, moses, david, solomon etc none of them was woman. If the leadership is meant 4 woman, god would have sent one woman as prohet. Besides who can allow his wife to be his leader in his family? If you can support, if you can't against.

Menn am a xtian but i ve respect 4 wat dat muslim brothr said. Our women r 2 fast 2 embrace western culture. 4 d women 2 be vice/deputy is not a bad idea u stil ve roles 2 play as mother/wife as africa is concerned. Freedom is gud but it has adverse effect which woman can't handle. Ladies dnt be fast 2 blast me just think abt it.

Politics › Breaking News:court Of Appeal Nullifies Uduaghan's Election by osifred(op): 9:35pm On Nov 09, 2010
The Federal Appeals Court in Benin City, Edo State, late afternoon annulled the election of Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, and ordered fresh gubernatorial election in the state within 90 days.

The decision followed the appeal brought by Mr. Great Ogboru against Governor Uduaghan, who has governed the state since 2007. The appeal panel earlier dismissed the petition brought by the AC candidate, Okocha, where he sought the nullification of Uduaghan's election because of his exclusion from the 2007 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Edo State capital erupted in jubilation over the verdict. Pending the ordered elections, the Speaker of the House of Assembly will step in as "Acting governor".
The Delta State governorship election will also act as the first major test of the re-constituted INE), headed by radical university professor, Mahmud Jega, a former lecturer and former Vice Chancellor of Bayero University in Kano.

Politics › Opinion Poll. Gej Ahead Of Ibb by osifred(op): 4:26pm On Nov 03, 2010
An opinion poll conducted by Independent Electoral Network into the 2011 presidential election has indicated that President Goodluck Jonathan is ahead of other aspirants.

A statement by the Coordinator of Africa Election Monitors in Nigeria, Ossissam Mwake, and made available to THE PUNCH in Lagos on Tuesday, said Jonathan was leading other aspirants in 27 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

He said the result of the opinion poll was compiled from questionnaires that were administered on Nigerians of voting age in the 36 states and the FCT.

The statement added that Jonathan took the lead in the five states in the South-East –Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia and Imo.

In the South-South, he led in Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, and Cross River states but lost in Edo State to General Ibrahim Babangida (retd.).

In the North-Central, Jonathan was ahead in Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau and Kogi states, while Governor Bukola Saraki took the lead in his home state, Kwara, just as Babangida got Niger State.

Jonathan was said to have been endorsed in the six South-West states – Ogun, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ondo and Lagos.
