As you say this is not a joke.  I think anyone on this site is not needy because
a) they can afford to have internet in their home
b) they can afford to pay the hourly rate at internet Cafes
c) they are doing it at home/school/friends house.

Why not give your money to people in Nigeria who can only afford to eat one meal a day.
Or your £100 to build a well in a remote village to make their lives easy.

There are many Charities you can donate your money too.

The best type of charity is one that is done behind closed doors and not the "hey come and look at me"

Remember Charity is not puffed up.

are you mean spirited?
do you lack emotions?
are you insesitive to peoples feelings?

sometimes people do this due to a traumatic event in childhood that causes them to shut down.
did your parents go through a bitter divorce?
did you feel abandoned and uncared for by a parent
did you lose a parent in childhood
was there emotional,sexual or physical abuse
all these and more could cause someone involuntarily to decide "never to be hurt again"
and it translates to being detached from people's feelings.

If a few people close to you  have said it ,it must be true and now that you acknowledge it, you're on your way to help the situation.
My own problem is that I can get too emotional and sympathetic and people have taken advantage of it,I  had to learn to say NO, wish I could be tougher.
