Theadoredone: Hi Osoderi,
First, give yourself a pat on the back for coming this far and always listen to your "inner coach" , not your "inner critic". There's always something to learn from an interview experience.
When you get their feedback, look through it and if there's an area/part you supposedly scored low, develop on it and use that to prepare for your next interview.
Admin jobs are usually competitive and one would need to demonstrate one's knowledge /skill with practical examples similar to what they expect of you on the job. Your qualification should also give you an edge - I suppose what you have is higher than what they're asking for sef right? (Most typically ask for GCSE or A-Level, depending on the organisation)
Maybe they had an internal candidate who's already used to the system or even previously worked with the boss in a different capacity, or they had another strong candidate coming from a previous role within the UK and was also able to knock the interview out of the park. Either way, I have no doubt you were a strong candidate for you to have made it to the final stage.
You could also start looking at lesser-known firms: It might be a lot easier to get a job with those... get your UK experience there, and then reapply to the big four.
Keep at it! Wishing you God's best. Many thanks, your words gave me courage |

omopapa: Don’t feel bad bro, it’s part of the experience. You shld call them back to get feedback from the interview. They will tell you what you did well and where you didn’t do so well so you improve and use that in other interviews you attend. It could also be that they preferred someone who has been in the UK longer than yourself. Don’t give up and keep trying, you will get there soon Thank you |

marylandcakes: PA role in the UK is very subjective depending on who your boss is. The PA knows everything about the boss even stuff his wife doesn’t know, they book all his flights, business meetings, has access to his credit cards and accounts in some cases. Even books his family holidays, etc
That’s what I meant by being subjective and it also depends on the organisation.
Keep trying don’t give up , you can also try for a lower position just to get your feet in the door, then once you have brushed up and acclimatised to the British culture then you can then go for the big role. Thank you |

TheGuyFromHR: Regarding the bolded, you may never know. If they do provide feedback, it may or may not indicate why they really didn't want you for the job and might most likely cover generic stuff which may or may not be made up ("candidate appeared unsure of themselves", "candidate did not display an in-depth knowledge of the job role", etc., etc.) It's all subjective anyway, so don't strees too much about it.
Regarding the bolded, you keep trying. Try not to get discouraged. It is very easy to get discouraged in face of the deluge of rejections the average dark-skinned jobseeker receives, but you can only allow yourself brief moments of feeling sad, then pick up your pen (abi your internet enabled device) and continue the applications process. As someone else has pointed out and as common sense dictates, you may have to content yourself with something lower level to get a foot on the ladder and start earning to pay those ever-increasing Boris bills while you keep on going. Make your peace with that, and quickly too, even if its the unwanted care home job, call centre or whatever, because the greatest threat to anyone's successful living here is unmanaged expectations.
And a PA position is not one to kill oneself about. It's a very subjective, personal preference position. Put simply, the paler your skin, the more likely you are to be deemed suitable. Digest that, and move on. Thank you for the encouragement. God bless |

When going to the airport, take two copies of pre covid test, one will be collected from you at the airport during the time u want to collect y bordering pass. Then u will be asked for you day 2 confirmation order, if fully vaccinated u will present your covid certificate, then the locator form too. Hope u understand now |

I am not happy here, after putting in all my best in job interview for a PA role in one of the big four accounting firm, i was successful in the first stage I did in Nigeria, the final interview was in uk , I was asked the same questions which I knew I did well, just for me to receive a regret mail that I was unsuccessful, I keep asking my self what went wrong, is it because I don't have UK experience? I put in my best and have years of experience in the role. What went wrong ( feeling so sad). I need advice please.
What can I do to get adminstrative jobs in the UK, honestly I have been applying. I know the job that I can easily get is care work, but I don't really like it. Please I need advice to stand my feet in this UK what best to start doing.
Just need advice to be strong in this UK.
Please if there is anybody living in Northampton kindly let me know, I am really feeling alone here.
Many thanks |

Just make sure u print two pre covid test BC one will be taken at the airport and one shown at instabul. Your luggage should be 23kg Nothing much, just make sure if you like food, buy many snacks like meat pie oooo. OR chop well well bf u enter flight. Na night flight ooo. |

abduloau: This is an update regarding my long stay visa (Passeport Talent Researcher) application at the VFS centre in Lagos I applied on the 23rd December, 2021 and my VISA was issued on the 5th of January, 2022. Below are the documents I submitted: 1. International passport 2. Two copies of data page of my international passport (black and white). I saw so many people making coloured copies of the data page and I really don't know why. 3. Two copies of the online visa application form (blank and white). Try to avoid those agents beside the VFS building. They will mislead you just to make money. The guy convinced me to print the first and last page of the application form coloured (500 each). Upon entry, the lady that attended to make asked me to make a photocopy of the application form. I had an extra copy with me so I gave her the black and white copy. 4. The original copy of work contract agreement sent from France 5. My degree certificates; bachelors, MSc and PhD. 6. Covid-19 vaccination status 7. Axamansard travel insurance (Three months as advised here). I emailed VFS prior to buying the insurance policy as to the minimum duration required for the travel insurance. They responded that it is discretionary. I can buy any month I like. 8. Two coloured passport photo with a white background. I actually paid and took the picture at the VFS centre. I tried to avoid stories that passport does not meet the requirement.
What I did not submit 1. Travel history. One of the agents beside the VFS building told me to make coloured copies of my travel history but I refused because of the cost implications. Although I had black and white copies, the lady returned it back to me. 2. Flight reservation. The consulate called me twice. I missed the first call on the 2nd of January and they called back on the 5th to ask when I was travelling. 3. Police report. 4. Letter of introduction. 5. Hotel reservation. 6. Bank statement
My advise is to follow the instructions on the printed online application form for the documents required and try to avoid those agents beside the VFS building. I wish you all the best of luck in your visa applications. Congratulations. Why pple are making coloured photo copy is that Ireland visa, they demand all documents to be coloured. |

FrankFrenzy: Now are you very sure of this assertion? Cos it shouldn’t be. Fully vaccinated travelers leaving Nigeria are not supposed to do pre departure test and on the flip side, UK doesn’t require Pre arrival test from both fully vaccinated and non vaccinated. Well for now I don't know. Early January I did COVID test and I am fully vaccinated. Paid for Day 2 PCR. When I went to get my bodering pass, they requested for it, cycled the negative and asked me to print a copy or snap it, I snap it. When I got to instanbul the requested for my COVID test and vaccine card. |
