You definitely like your man almost to the point of idolatry. One observation though: is the guy's management style sexist? I ask because you kept referring to his 'boys' and only mentioned Sola David-Borha almost as an aside. |
Nonsense. Did you follow the original post? Did you see how long it took the guy to sit on his butt while doing absolutely nothing about facilitating the opening of the said domiciliary account after all the requested documents had been submitted? Did you note his maddening indifference to the customer who confessed her frustrations and stated that only the fact that she stutters when angry prevented her from a verbal confrontation of the guy there? And what makes you think the guy had not been trained, even repeatedly, by the bank on appropriate customer service and yet he persisted in treating his customers shabbily? I think he had his sack, honestly. The damage to his employer's reputation caused by his carelessness is unquatifiable. His departure can only be a timely warning for others of his ilk within and without the bank that there will always be consequences. In this country people have literally gotten away with murder for too long. Time all that is checked. t AjanleKoko: It was wrong of UBA to fire that employee in my view. |
The youngman has made his first serious mistake by choosing Arsenal. Na im be say e go ebd im career with out even a tasere Carlings cup. Choi. ![]() |
My friend, you dont have to distort facts just because you want to praise GTBank. How can you say GTBank is the only bank that made pre-tax profits of over 100 billion naira last year? Maybe you havent heard of the Zenith 2012 results. Zenith did not only make pre-tax profits of more than 100 billion naira, they are infact the ONLY bank in Nigeria today with post-tax profits of over 100 billion naira. GTBank's 2012 post tax profits were infact a mere 86 billion naira. So much for your 'facts'. damola1: Even with a OD on my UBA a/c. Had to dump the crappy bank. Always wasting 2-3hrs on queue ( GT is guilty of this too). Can you freaking believe it. They have a charge on internet banking.. they call it monthly charges. I laugh in chinese. |
Who tell you say the man na Yoruba man. Look well. Na Lawrence Onoja dey for the picture. Adelaide2: Great photo, unlike this one below |
Oga Stockbull, you wan become another FFK for here, abi? Can't you just make your point without the needless ethnic baiting? Just askin' stockbull: Abc pullback would catch investors unawares as the stock is holding its support pole at this price. |
Dat~ibo~boi:Next will be the seaports in Onne and Delta and Cross river and the Inland ports at Onitsha. After that, Lagos go know say khaki no be leather in terms of IGR. ![]() |
Soon some people go convenientlu say the bobo na Igbo man. adagodson: It's Ndokwa West, and not Nduka West L.G.A. |
ARM mutual funds, especially their Discovery Fund, are the last investment outlets I would advise anyone to put their money in. They will more than disappoint you. I'd sooner give my money to a confirmed 419ner first. Omexonomy: I have invested in over five mutual fund they dont declare dividend that makes sense it is more of ponzi scheme especially DVCF OIL AND GAS no return in last four years. If you want to invest try ARM (mutual fund) first bank (mutual fund) and union trustees mixed fund. These are the ones i am a little bit happy with. |
Any wonder Arsenal has won absolutely nothing in the past 8 years? While other EPL dey struggle to improve on the asking fees of clubs of players dem want desperately Arsene Wenger still dey turn the goods up and down like women wey dey price fish for Dugbe market. Instead make im talk say e no get money e wan use d nonsense called trials to embarrass our defender. I support you jare Oboabona. E good as you no go. Arsenal na the worst aka araldite team wey I don see for EPL. Dem for even offer you slave wages if to say you go and pass dem yeye trials. Wait a little. More serious teams will definitely come for you. Soon. |
I want a very very clean Golf station wagon, the type some epople use for trandportation. I don't know the exact model now but it is a wagon, not the short type. HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST ME TO LAND ONE IN LAGOS FROM COTONOU? |
Considering that you still write that she "seniors you with 8 years", I have no doubt in my mind that you need to pay more attention to your studies than anything else. thewidemouth: I'm focused in my studies because my GP is quite high.. I cnt get her out of my mind.. I'm supposed to meet her again today in the evenin.. She says today is her birthday nd she xpects sumfin 4rm me... |
Why is it that people just respond to issues raised on NL without fully understanding the contexts of those issues. The main cause of concern for Erelu who posed the question is the fact that the impending returnee is already used to her living standards in the UK. If she comes back on a 130K salary, would she get something similar or close? This to me means taking consideration some of our peculiar challenges like lack of regular power, water, etc. Would she have to spend money out of that salary providing some of those necessities for herself? |
What a lousy report. I shake my head in disgust at the rubbish that passes for journalism these days. I have no doubt that the name of reporter who wrote this story would have been promptly included in the sack list were he or her to have been a Diamond bank employee. The incompetence is too gross to be forgiven. lekanolas: Diamond Bank Plc yesterday relieved over 100 of its staff their jobs, for not measuring up to the Bank’s measuring standard. |
emorse: If I were Keshi, I'd silently take Oliseh's advice because a coach is only as good as his last match. Moreso in our beloved Nigeria. And what did you think Keshi had been trying to do with this team all along? |
Dee60: In football, you should expect criticism and Keshi should know that. It is all about tactics and sometimes you dont get it. Big Bro, learn from Mourinho. When things go wrong he accepts the blame, smile and promise never to have a repeat. Our performance at CONFED was abysmally poor. And who are these players in top leagues that you want in the Super Eagles? Obafemi Martins who plays in the backwater MLS and who was given a great chance to redeem himself during the last qualifiers in Calabar against Kenya but who ended up running around the whole pitch like a headless chicken before Keshi saved his blushes by introducing Oduamadi? Or Joseph Yobo who plays in Turkey and who was a shadow of himself at AFCON? Or Osaze who can't even get a regular shirt in his bottom club in the premiership because of his long-established indiscipline with club and national team authorities? Who exactly are these your players that were shut out? |
Read properly and understand a passage before you rush to make a rash comment. The report says the governor handed over the cheques TO THE LAST BATCH of the 5000 youths. It's obvious that the programme had been in batches and this was the LAST batch. Em-my: |

Now, it's all quiet on all fronts here because Saint Asiwaju is the one being accused of blatant nepotism. Suddenly all the PDP and GEJ haters have lost their voices. But never mind. When Asiwaju finally wins the presidency or helps his wife to the Vice presidency as she currently dreams of, (having helped impose her as a senator) then the rest of Nigeria (and not just Lagos State or South West Nigeria)will become his family's oyster. All hail the Asiwaju!!!! |
Acidosis: Now that it involves covenant university, I expect some sects to come here and pour out their inherited jealousy once again on private universities... NOT forgetting the fact that these things happen everyday, everywhere, and in all schools in Nigeria. |
gudugudumeje: Things Fall Apart is more successful as a political tool than a literary masterpiece. It's a counter narrative to repudiate the western imperial image of Africa. In the process, the number of barbaric acts found expressed there in the book were what finally attracted the average Western European and Americans to buy the book and get it translated to many languages for keep for and to their next generations. That is in order to prove that Africa is barbaric. WHO NOW IS CHASING WHO?Why is it impossible for some people to simply shut up if the issue under discussion is beyond them? |
Those muslims who disagree with the Lagos State govt on the ban and who say they will contest it in court are most welcome to do so. But what should not be acceptable is the angry threat by the ever-pugnacious Muslim Students Society (MSS) to resist the govt's directive, even if violently. Given their history, if they go ahead with such a resistance, they'd expressly be justifying the govt's considered decision to uphold the law that bans outward manifestations of religion in Lagos public schools. |
Before Kwankwaso, other more hostile anti-Igbo leaders existed. They were all united in their wish that the "troublesome" inyamiris be wiped off the face of the North and Nigeria in general, nay, the earth. But guess what, the Igbo are still here. They'll be here as long as humans inhabit this earth. As for the ploy to convert the garage into an islamiya school, well they can as well convert the entire state into one giant mosque. But as it often happens, the ultimate losers will never be the Igbo. By the way, for those interested, here's a useful website you may want to check out; www.thereligionofpeace.com |
Acidosis: Lol.... see as u dey mention central bank, oil and gas, world bank like say...na im papa get all dis coys..My bros, all the people wey dey work for those places, na dem papa get dem, ba? You shouldn't defeat yourself even before you try. |
I think you should go for the MSc for the following reasons: (1.) It's a foreign degree and it will definitely count more in your job-seeking CV for Nigerian employers anytime you decide to come back. (2.) Your uncle and aunt are paying, so you are virtually losing nothing. (3.) The Diamondbank job sounds good on paper but I tell you, it is not going to be as rosy when you're going to have to compete with a hundred or more others with even better first degrees than you working there. (4.) With a foreign MSc in Finance, along with your local BSc in accounting, your employability range becomes wider. You can so easily work in the finance or accounting departments of Telecoms, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing and/or Power(Discos) companies apart from your dream of being in Banking and Finance. You can even decide to go into Central Banking or the World Bank and the latter, as we all know, is quite 'notorious' for insisting on advanced degrees for its entry level applicants. Furthermore, I would rather work in Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria or Citibank Nigeria than in Diamond and my foreign graduate degree is always something those foreign banks are going to place a high premium on. A worst case scenario, for those who tell you "missing" the great Diamondbank offer may cause you much regrets later, is that you can even get started with KPMG or PwC who would not hesistate to grab you with your initial accounting degree and the additional foreign masters degree. From working with them a few years to garner the required professional skills and qualifications, your professional future in terms of moving on to other even better paying job(s) is practically assured. Long and short of all this my rambling: just grab the MSc offer, dude. Even the network of international friends you're likely to make from being in that MSc class with several other classmates from other countries will prove very invaluable in future, something you are unlikely to get in a place like Diamond bank. And finally, when you finally depart for the programme, don't fail to send in my consultation fee. This advice isn't for free, of course. ![]() |
Now, can we also have a list of billionaires who graduated from some higher institution? I bet the list will more than quintiple this one. |
