CelebritiesWho Do You Think The Richest Man Of All time Is, And Where Was He From? by Osu175(op):
Whenever the richest person in the globe is mentioned, our minds flash to the western world. We think of the likes of John D Rockfeller, in past history and BillGates in current history. It occurs to virtually nobody that anything “world richest” could come from Africa. However, this long-standing belief has been provenwrong by the discovery of the man calledMansa Musa, one time emperor of the empire of Mali (1312–1337).His real name is Musa Keita but adopted the name “Mansa” which means ‘king of kings or emperor”, when he became the ruler of the Malian empire, after the death of his predecessor,Abu-Bakr II in 1312.Malian King Mansa Musa was the richest man in all of the world’s history. According to a new inflation-adjusted list, Mansa Musa was worth a whooping $400 billion, which, incredibly, places him as the No. 1 richest person in history, ahead of the Rothschild family ($350 billion) and John D. Rockefeller ($340 billion). Mansa is known to have made his fortune and fame from the gold and ivory trade that had taken place in Africa during the 14th century.

Mansa Musa, the Malian emperor is mostly remembered by historians both in Africa and beyond for his extravagant hajj, or pilgrimage that he took to Mecca. This elaborate pilgrimage to the Muslim holy city of Mecca which he embarked on in 1324 introduced him to rulers in the Middle East and in Europe. Archaeologists have discovered that Mansa Musa had gathered a massive group of people to take the journey with him. Accompanying the royal couple were 60,000 porters in a caravan of 100 camel, carrying 300 pounds of gold each, 500 attendants of his senior wife, 500 slaves, each carrying a 4 pound goldstaff, and thousands of his subjects. According to David Tschanz in his essay “Lion of Mali: The Hajj of Mansa Musa” in the May 2012 issue of Makzan. “Leading the host were 500 heralds, clad in Persian silk and bearing four-foot-longgolden staffs glistening in the sun and nearly blinding anyone who looked at them,” Tschanz writes. “Next came the royal guards some bearing spears and sword, others the flags of their empire.” Also in tow, Tschanz notes, was “a retinue of 12,000 of the king’s personal slaves”. The journey took him and his servants over a year to complete.

During the famous journey, he stopped off in Egypt and gave out so much gold that the Egyptian economy was ruined for years to come. When he arrived in Egypt, Mansa Musa camped near the Pyramids for three days. He then sent a gift of 50,000 dinars to the Sultan of Egypt, Al-Nasir Muhammad, before settling in Cairo for three months. The Sultan lent him his palace for the summer and made sure that his entourage was treated well. Mansa Musa gave away thousands of ingots of gold, and Egyptian traders took advantage of this by charging five times the normal price for their goods.

Consequently, the value of gold in Egypt decreased as much as 25 percent. While he was in Cairo and Mecca he spent so much money that he eventually ran out. With no funds to support his journey back home, he had to borrow a large amount from Egyptian merchants and to rectify the gold market, Musa borrowed at a ridiculously high interest rate all the gold he could carry from lenders in Cairo. He directly controlled the price of gold in the Mediterranean, reportedly the only time in history one man has done so.

Mansa’s reign, which lasted for a good 25 years was that of absolute peace and prosperity in Mali and the surrounding West African countries. According tocelebritynetworth.com, the West African nation of Mali, under Musa’s leadership was responsible for more than half of theworld’s salt and gold supply. Musa embarked on a large building program, raising mosques and madrasas in Timbuktu and Gao. Most notably, the ancient center of learning Sankore Madrasah (or University of Sankore) was constructed during his reign.Furthermore, it was recorded that he built a mosque every Friday. He designed numerous buildings for the Emperor including a new palace named Madagou, the mosque at Gao, the second largest city in Mali, and the still-standing great mosque at Timbuktu, thelargest city in the empire.Mansa Musa I died in 1337, and was succeeded by his son, Maghan I. However, his heirs were unable to sustaintheir father’s wealth and fortune, and just two generations later, all the wealthwas gone – wasted away by civil wars and invading armies.

Before Kogi Elections, Prophet Warned Kogi Governorship Candidates They Would Die If… [WATCH]: By Doyin Ajayi | Sub-Editor - Nov 29, 2015

A new eerie video has emerged of a sermon held at Omega Fire Ministries based in Auchi of Edo State on Sunday, November 8, 2015.

In the 2.42 minute video delivered to The Trent by a reader, Apostle Johnson Suleiman is seen warning Kogi politicians who are planning to use human sacrifice in their political ambition to desist or die.

The acclaimed prophet whose followers call him “the Oracle of God”, is seen issuing a stern warning, “We already know the result of the election, but this is a warning,” he said in the video.

“God showed me a vision, I am talking to Kogi State,” Suleiman declared. “They are planning for people would start disappearing before the elections. You won’t find them because they want to behead. They want victory at all costs.”

“Let me say this to Kogi State and all those politicians who are going out of law. If you attempt anybody, you die,” he declared. His congregation shouted, ‘Amen!’

“You attempt any head, you die! If you want to do election, do election and go. Don’t take lives. I am repeating it because there is going to be confusion,” he said in the video.

Kogi governorship elections were held on November 22, 2015. The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former governor, Prince Abubakar Audu died on the morning of November 23, 2015 before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the results inconclusive.

Audu’s family members suspect foul play in the death of their father. A group in Kogi has outrightly accused APC national leader, Bola Tinubu of being behind Audu’s death and called for his arrest.

Quite a lot of Nigeria’s military and democratic presidents and top politicians have something in common.

A number of them attended the same secondary school – Barewa College in Zaria, Kaduna State. The school was founded in 1921 by British governor-general, Hugh Clifford and was formerly called Katsina College. The name was changed to Kaduna College in 1938 and then Government College, Zaria in 1949 before its current name Barewa College.

The school has produced about 5 presidents, 20 governors, ministers and more.
Here are the list of former Nigerian presidents, ministers, governors who attended the prestigious college:
– Alh. Ahmadu Bello, Premier of Northern Nigeria from 1954 to 1966
– Alh. Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa, Prime Minister of Nigeria from 1960 to 1961
– Gen. Murtala Mohammed, Military President from 1975 to 1976
– Gen. Yakubu Gowon(retd.), Military President from 1966 to 1975
– Alh. Shehu Shagari, President of Nigeria from 1979 to 1983
– Alh. Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010
– Mallam Adamu Ciroma , 3-time Minister (Industries; Agriculture; and Finance)
– Prof. Jubril Aminu – 2-time Minister (Education; Petroleum and Mineral Resources)
– Alh. Umaru Dikko – Minister of Transportation
– Alh. Ibrahim Mahmud Alfa, Ex-Governor of Kaduna State
– Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State
– Dr. Orji Uzor-Kalu, Ex-Governor of Abia State
– Alhaji Mohammed Bello – (current) Minister of FCT
– Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau(retd.) – (current) Minister of Interior
– Air Commodore Ibrahim Alkali(retd.) – Ex-Military Governor of Kwara State
– Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi – Ex-Minister of Education
– Hon. Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi – Former Chief Justice of Nigeria(CJN)
– Hon. Justice Uwais – Former Chief Justice of Nigeria
– Hon. Justice Mohammed Bello, Former Chief Justice of Nigeria

Memorable names of the school’s dormitories include: Bello Kagara House, Luggard House, Clifford House, Dan Hausa House, Mallam Smith House, Nagwamatse House, Bienemann House, Mort House, and later Jafaru House and Suleiman Barau House, which were previously called New House A and New House B during their construction. These dormitories housed up to a thousand pupils at any one time, within the vast landscape east of Tudun Wadda.

FamilyWhat A Father Told His Daughter A Day Before Her Wedding by Osu175(op): 4:44pm On Nov 06, 2015
My Daughter, tomorrow you will stop bearing my name. You will be happily married to the man you love. Dont miss me because I have fulfilled my purpose, it is now time for you to start fulfilling yours.

From your childhood, I have raised you well by the grace of God but before you say I do, there are few things I need to tell you about living with a man and being married.
Do you remember when you wrote your WAEC and JAMB exams? You came to me and I gave you 20,000 naira for the registration? Well, even though I gave it to you, the money was not mine. I know you always thought I paid the fees. The truth is, I was broke… but your mother gave me the money. She could have given it to you but she decided to give it to me to give to you.

Support your husband. Some times things will get tough… he will be frustrated. Even though he acts tough, in his mind he has fears… he fear you may not value him anymore because he has fallen. That is the time to get behind him and support him!

The best way to show your husband you love him is to respect him! You may argue with him, you may disagree but at the end of the day, let him know he has your respect. Do you remember the day I screamed at your mother? What did she do? She was quiet!

Do you also remember the day she screamed at me? What did I do? I was quiet! My daughter learn to be quiet sometimes when your husband is angry. When one person is hot, the other should be cool. If two are always screaming at same time, that is how big problems start in marriage.

The first thing to know about your husband is his favourite food! If he has more than one then keep them at the back of your mind. Dont let him ask for it, always prepare it for him.

There was a day your mother caught me touching a woman’s hand affectionately. I was lust after that woman but I was not yet cheating on your mum. When she saw us… she didnt fight the lady, she quietly left. I was afraid of going home because all hell will break lose. But when I got home she said nothing. She served me my food. Guilt was taking control over me. I started begging. From that day, I never looked at a woman two time. Who knows? If she had fought and threatened me… maybe I could have run away from the fight into the arms of the lady. Sometimes Silent brings better solution than fight.

Forget those romantic novels you read while you were 21. Remember those Indian and American love movies? Also remember those too sweet Nollywood films on African magic? Forget them! Don’t expect your married life to be that way. Life is different from fiction

The last thing I want to tell you…. Do you remember how you were born? After our wedding, things were tough and your mum had to do two jobs to support us. I was working as well. I get home 6 PM while she gets home 8pm tired. But when we get to bed… she will not refuse me my night food. That is how you were born. Dont form a habit of denying your husband of his night food. Be a good wife.

You will always be Daddy’s girl..

Nairaland GeneralSaudi Actor Arrested By Religious Police For Taking Selfies With Female Fans by Osu175(op): 10:50pm On Oct 29, 2015
Saudi actor arrested by religious police for taking selfies with female fans in mall.
He later appeared on TV to defend his actions

A popular actor and TV presenter has been arrested in a mall in Saudi Arabia after his appearance caused a huge commotion among young female fans.
Abdul Aziz al-Kassar, a Saudi national who lives in Kuwait, was on a working visit to Riyadh when he was mobbed by fans trying to take pictures and selfies with him.
Kassar had publicised his visit to the Al Nakheel shopping centre on Friday evening, asking his social media followers for recommendations of "the best mall to visit", Gulf News reported.
But in a TV interview at the weekend, he told the Gulf Rotana network he had not expected the "overwhelming" welcome he received from fans.
Video from the mall posted to YouTube and Twitter appears to show Kassar surrounded by women taking photos, before a man in white robes grabs him by the shirt and hauls him away.
Kassar told Gulf Rotana: "I did not expect to find so many people waiting for me. I want to clarify that the presence of young women at the mall was not something under my control.
"When I stepped in, several fans came over and surrounded me until someone came over and pulled me aside into a room that I learned was reserved for the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice inside the mall.

"I understood that the man who pulled me was a member of the commission and I did not resist him out of my respect for the Commission,” he added.
Kassar said he initially had his phone confiscated, and he has been released on bail pending an investigation into accusations of disturbing public order, mixing with women unrelated to him and abusing social media.
Hugely popular on social media and with acting credits across Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, Kassar has also presented a number of TV programmes. He claimed that the religious police should have warned him about the number of fans congregating and that they "did not tell me to stay away".

HealthHorror! Baby Contracts Herpes After Family Member Kissed Her by Osu175(op):
A new mum has taken to her Facebook page to share the horror involved in allowing family members show love to your new baby by kissing him/her.
Claire Henderson and baby Brooke
Warning all mums across the world, Doncaster-based Claire Henderson recalled how her little baby, Brooke, was hospitalized for five days with horrific blisters that could have caused liver and brain damage.
‘Please share this with every new mum and pregnant woman you know…
COLD SORES CAN BE FATAL FOR A BABY.
Before 3 months old a baby cannot fight the herpes virus. If a baby contracts this it can cause liver and brain damage and lead to death. I know this sounds like I am scaremongering but if my friend had not told me about this my baby girl could have been very seriously ill. I noticed the signs early and got her to A&E, we have now been in hospital on a drip for 3 days and have another 2 to go. She was VERY lucky, all her tests came back clear.
The moral of the story is DO NOT let anyone kiss your newborns mouth, even if they don’t look like they have a cold sore – 85% of the population carry the virus. And if someone had a cold sore, ask them to stay away until it has gone. Everyone who I have spoken to had not heard this before so I felt it was important to share Brooke’s story and raise awareness to stop anyone else going through what we have this week,” the concerned mum posted on Facebook.
The post has so far garnered over 35,000 shares.
One of Claire’s followers commented: ‘Well said Claire people do need to be aware of this as I didn’t know this could happen to babies. Just so glad you was on the ball & went with your instincts and got our Brooke to hospital straight away.’
Another said: ‘So pleased she is recovering well. We’ll done for spotting the signs for something that could have had a very different outcome. She’s a little fighter bless her. NHS Choices state cold sores are ‘small blisters that develop on the lips or around the mouth. They are caused by the herpes simplex virus and ‘usually clear up without treatment within seven to 10 days.
They often start with a tingling, itching or burning sensation around your mouth. Small fluid-filled sores will then appear, most commonly on the edges of your lower lip.
While a mild condition in adults, they can cause liver and brain damage in children under six weeks old and even lead to death.’
