Kingozymandias:Dey calm down... Why are Obi's supporters so emotional? When you bring emotions into serious issues like this one, you will sound and act foolish. |
Massiveglory:Unfortunately for you, the news came from within the LP, not from opposition camp. Yeye dey smell... |
2pak:What are the sins of BAT? BAT didnt owe workers and he even paid more than the recommended minimum wage. Find something else to say |
RUMBLINGS that may tear the Labour Party (LP) apart reared its ugly head as party leaders are angry with Peter Obi over campaign donations going into his private account instead of the party’s account, Podium Reporters reported. According the Podium Reporters, the fratricide ongoing in the Labour Party between Peter Obi, a recent migrant from the PDP who grabbed the party’s presidential ticket, and founding members of the party led by Prof. Pat Utomi has taken an ugly turn as the former Anambra Governor, who faces allegations of staging the unlikely run for the presidency to fatten his bank accounts, moves to corner all donations by linking a preferred private account for deposits sourced from public fund-raising efforts for the campaign. Multiple sources confirmed to PODIUM REPORTERS that the feud, which began when Obi started to sideline the leadership of the Labour Party in crucial functions of the campaign particularly fund-raising, was compounded this week when dissatisfied foundational members of the Labour Party frowned at what they called “the diversionary and corrupt management of donations” by the candidate and his henchmen. According to reports, Obi had compelled the usage of one UBA bank account tied to Ativo Ltd in all public fund-raising efforts of the campaign, acting in opposition to the wishes of other members of the party, particularly those he met there, who preferred Labour Party’s official bank account for better transparency and joint management. Obi’s actions fueled insinuations that he is running a one-man show focused on expanding his personal fortunes, even if the campaign ends in failure as it looks likely to. “It is unfortunate that Obi has decided to run a one-man show, despite profiting from the generosity of those of us he met in the party,” an aggrieved member who craved anonymity told our reporter. “It is almost as if he is merely using the platform and this presidential campaign to raise money and take care of his boys, the ones he brought from the PDP.” “Far from the well-known practice that political parties raise funds for campaign and manage the same, Obi has insisted that private accounts unknown to the party be used in receiving all funds raised from the public. None of the leadership of the party is a signatory to these strange bank accounts; only Obi can withdraw and disburse the funds as he wishes. This is now how to manage a campaign. It is fraudulent and we have resolved to resist him,” he concluded. ![]() |
duro4chang:The splinter group (LP/Obi) is saying it has changed ![]() As a matter of fact, Obi is calling himself the messiah |
newcommer:You're celebrating your co-traveler in idiocy whose half-witted response only exposed his low level of reasoning. The guy must have tormented you so much for you to be this happy |
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, has said that he was given a mandate to re-establish the party to power and not to loot or be reckless with party funds. Ayu was speaking while welcoming the Forum of Elected Ex-Officio Members of the party who paid him a solidarity visit at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. He added that he has directed the party’s finance department to uphold an update on the party’s income and expenditure account for presentation to the party’s National Executive Committee at the first-year commemoration of the current NWC in December. He further said that this was his first reaction to charges against him in the media of bribery and illegal payments to members of the party’s National Working Committee members. Punch ![]() |
Beremx:If those who worked with him have refused to support his ambition or come forward to defend him. There are three possibilities. 1. He appointed dullards who can't articulate what they or their boss did 2. There is nothing to talk about or defend 3. They don't believe in him - he lacks capacity and competence which probably caused the preceding point |
Naijanascam:Of course, we know, Obi is the most democratic person on earth ![]() However, you haven't answered the question. What are they doing with their freedom of expression wrt Obi's ambition? Or they don't think his ambition is worth their time? |
![]() This question came up again in a televised political discussion this morning. Why are we not seeing Obi's appointees (commissioners, advisers, etc) when he was governor campaigning for him? I want to believe most of them are alive and strong (it is less than 10 years since Obi left office). Why are we not seeing any of them speak in his defense? Obi has been the only one defending himself and his regime in Anambra. Why? |
PeterObi4LP:You're a fool. Go there tomorrow with a whip. Unfortunately, I can't see how much influence religion has made in your miserable life... The last I checked, it hasn't stopped you from trafficking drugs, cultism, yahoo-yahoo, 419, importing fake products, etc. |
ogbonti:Calm down, man. The more emotional you get, the less sense you make. Do you live in Lagos? If yes, what foundation of god-fatherism, thuggery, intimidation, etc are you talking about? As we speak, Lagos remains the most peaceful, secure, and yet the most economically vibrant state in Nigeria. So, where is the thuggery and who is intimidating who in Lagos? People who come from states where UGM kill law-abiding people in broad daylight and IPOB declaring a sit-at-home on Mondays are here talking about thuggery and intimidation in Lagos. Is that not stupidity? You guys should be busy holding meetings on how to stop the violence and killings currently ongoing in your land instead of poke-nosing into national politics - you don't have what it takes to lead a nation. The same man, Obi, that can't walk on the streets of Akwa on Monday lives in Lagos. He holds rallies in Lagos and even goes to clubs here in the middle of the night - he can't do any of this in Anambra. Instead of you appreciating the person who laid the foundation for that, you're here making noise and castigating him. |
TonyeBarcanista:Another antecedent of Obi ![]() |
ATLIEN2027:We have many igbos too who are rooting for BAT. So, it doesn't even matter if he is Yoruba. What matters at the end of the day is the number of yorubas supporting and those against. |
tctrills:And how well does an average Igbo man honor religion and yet he heads cult groups, criminal gangs, drug cartels, IPOB, UGM, etc? |
Stone03:I don't know what concerns an Obi's supporter in the affairs of the APC. Shouldn't he be happy that the rally will be happening at a time a section of the supporters won't be available to join? Anyway, we're smarter than Obi supporters - he wanted to sow a seed of division as they do in Anambra sharply dividing Christians into Catholics, Pentecostals, etc. Here we don't care about religion and everybody can't attend the rally, otherwise, the whole state will be on lockdown. |
adetayo234:You were asked to show where Tinubu's name was mentioned and you shared this? What's your level of education? |
tctrills:Religious bigot on the loose. Yes, APC disrespects Christianity because all its members and governors are Muslims. This is what you're saying, dumbo. What has politics got to do with religion? We don't muddle up religion with everything we do here. Politicians are doing their own things and religionists can also do theirs when and how they want it. Lagos is not igboland where everybody carries religion in the day and becomes a criminal kingpin in the night. The walk is from 9am to 5pm. Church service ends by 12pm maximum. Whoever wants to join can do so after church service. If you don't know, Muslims also congregate on Sundays. It is up to anybody to choose where and when they want to go. On the flip side, Sunday is the most appropriate day in Lagos to hold this kind of walk. Roads are generally less busy and therefore commuters wont be subjected to unnecessary hardship. |
Rosenews2233:Tunubu is building structure upon structure for resilience across the country to guarantee victory. The party structure is there already and now we are building TAG on top of it. Nobody should be surprised when Tinubu is declared the winner by 12pm on election day. While all these are ongoing, the one-man show, Obi, is on a speaking tour in the US and Europe with his Ipod supporters shouting Ob Obi on the streets of Umuahia everyday ![]() |
adetayo234:Why not provide the source instead of prolonging the argument? Show us where Tinubu's name is mentioned. |
herkeem:Whether it is recent or not, Jagaban is back, hale and hearty. Whoever is not happy should hug the nearest transformer. |
adetayo234:Provide the source... Where and by who? Or keep your mouth shut |
Olojuobinrin:Those guys are so primitive and divisive. In Anambra, you will even see a sharp division between christians - catholic, pentecostal, etc. If you're not catholic in Anambra, you're on your own. This is how they live - like animals. |
tctrills:Stop making baseless noise. Whoever goes to church won't sleep there... When they are through with their church service they can join. And must everybody join the walk? |
SMGGroup:Take the statistics of those shouting Obi left and right... You don't need to look elsewhere for those supporting a candidate because of tribe. For us, we're desirous of results and progress. Therefore, the competence, capacity, and antecedents of the contestants are the key considerations. You don't approach intelligent people with also these primordial sentiments and empty talks that provide no enviable references but only promises by a crooked politician who can do anything (including jumping from one party to another, lying, and quoting wrong statistics) to deceive the gullible followers. |
SMGGroup:Like a shift from where Obi met Anambra to where it is today ![]() |
tctrills:You're ignorantly assuming all Christians go to church on Sundays. You're also assuming all Sunday churches start their service at 9am and they are in church throughout the day. Obidients are daft. |
SMGGroup:Stop living is self-deceit. You're envisaging a new Nigeria through Obi, an irredeemable chieftain of the PDP who even said recently that his ideology is not different from that of Atiku. He was right, after all the duo contested together on the same ticket in 2019. How some ignoramus think the same Obi is the person Nigeria needs for a rebirth is what I don't know. Don't worry, an igbo agenda can be packaged as anything but will only be supported by tribal bigots like you. |
tctrills:To add to this discussion, you need to check a few other organizations and interrogate who the chairmen are and why they were made the chairmen. The board of an organization basically oversees the investment of the shareholders (the owners) in the organization and ensures the organization is run in the interests of the shareholders. First, the board doesnt run the organization. It's only there to ensure the people running the organization are not shortchanging the owners (the shareholders). Regularly, a board meeting is held where the executive managers present the reports of business operations to the board and also get approval from the board for projects exceeding certain thresholds. The board needs a chairman who usually is the majority shareholder since the number of shares you hold equates to your votes. Of course, other major shareholders can come together to elect a chairman where there is no clear majority shareholder. For example, if the split is 15%, 25%, 40%, 10%, 10%. The 15%, 25%, 10%, and 10% shareholders can work together to elect the chairman of the board even if the 40% shareholder does not support their choice. However, if a shareholder has 60% of the total shares of the organization, he is automatically the chairman of the board or whoever he supports is the chairman of the board. So, Obi could have even made himself the chairman by virtue of holding the majority shares. He could have also been elected by members of the board. Basically, your shareholding is mainly the criterion for qualification here. This is assuming the person is educated enough to comprehend numbers, business terms, and effectively represent the shareholders. Therefore, there is nothing special about Obi being the chairman of a bank. He had (and still has) a lot of money there and that qualified him for the position. |
SMGGroup:Yorubas and Igbos have never been on the same side politically. Since 1999, the real Yorubas have been APC (only changing party name) and Igbos have been traditionally PDP. While the Yorubas have established themselves in the APC and now taking the center stage, the igbos are still struggling for relevance in the party they have supported for a whole generation. This led to the splinter group (LP) engineered by Obi. While this will put an Igbo's name/Obi on the ballot, it is an exercise in futility because even at home, Obi will have to contend with many forces - the traditional PDP governors and chieftains who have refused to endorse him, APGA in his home state, and the APC controlled SE states. |
