DICKtator: Complimentary?
You haven't reached a managerial level/position for you to state this!!
The price for that meal is part(may be hidden) of that flight ticket
Any airline that doesn't offer such service would be cheaper and if they want to partially offer such, would be at the directive of the passenger and would cost more
There is nothing like complimentary, not with the overheads expenses that are been incurred on a regular basis!!!
As a matter of fact, they may even be cheating you and using your "cultured" attitude to break-even or profit more by passing off such "luxury"
When next you are traveling, eat on the plane, ask for more and take away. If others like, let them look, they aren't the ones who paid for your flight ticket and your bank account is still heavy.(I presume) What do you mean by uncultured self?
Very subjective for you to say that considering how diverse culture is.
i agree its not complimentary, but are you then going to stuff your stomach (which could be unhealthy) and luggages with aircraft foods just to get your moneys worth? na you go tire, uncultured perhaps not, uncivil yes! |

By the way, it's an opinion is said once and move on. Saying some set of people are uncultured is a direct insult on them. If they choose to remain uncultured should it be his/her problem?
Not minding one's business cost one guy his life. Refer to sport betting death thread on FP. yes you may be right, but if every one should mind their businesses were will that leave us as humans? Should we also let atrocities (not in this case) go too? For the sake of minding ones business |

It makes me ask if there's something wrong with the Nigerian psyche, hence the thread. Most of all, it really amazes me that the generality of Nigerians believe this a 'normal' situation. Not one response in support! Smh. oh! i am %200 in support, its Absolutely ignorant and uncivilised of any one who takes foods served on an airplane home |

Antoinne: No, you didn't really pay for it. At some point, Aero never used to serve food on airplanes and people still flew. This food is complimentary and not paid for.
Why not 'munch' it in the plane? Are you not 'settled in' in the plane? Or you feel people are watching you?
Cultured people don't take food out of airplane. Don't get influenced by the habit of taking food away from a party. It simply doesn't speak well of you. If anything, it suggests that you are too hungry and can't afford a meal whenever you want one. Absolutely! nigerians and mediocrity perhaps its to show people that they just got of the plane, if one is travelling to europe or America its a no no any food served on board an aircraft must be consumed before landing |

Crime › Re: Drug Baron Held For Producing Drugs In Anambra State (PICTURE) by otiigba1(m): 3:44pm On Jun 25, 2015 |
Mapletraks: ^^^^^^^ Ezennunu1 of Isolo indeed. Look most of those young Ibo men in Lagos and elsewhere who are very loud and build houses outside Iboland have questionable wealth from methamphetamine drug trafficking and production right within residential areas such as the guys of Ibo origin who were arrested by the NDLEA between June 2011 and December 2012 in Satellite Town, Iba New Site, Majek in Ibeju-Lekki LGA. 4 of those methamphetamine illegal factories were sited within developed residential areas in Lagos State, and only 1 illegal meth factory was discovered at Nanka in Nnewi!
All these men were from Anambra State based on NDLEA data! Infact one of them had a methampethamine factory within his house in Satellite Town and another underground factory/crude laboratory in his home town in Nanka in Nnewi, Anambra State.
Methamphetamine production and the by-products causes CANCER when these Brainless people pour the waste into the ground for disposal thereby endangering the lives of the people living in the immediate environment of Iba, Satellite Town, Nanka and other laboratory locations in Anambra, etc. The GROUND WATER becomes contaminated in those areas with the waste that can cause hallucinations/delusions/psychosis, weight loss, etc.
Death penalty has to be introduced for this kind of crime just like in Singapore, Malaysia, S. Arabia, etc, because an NDLEA report that I read 4 years ago indicated that Imo State was experiencing an increasing usage of hard drugs among the youth as a result of the tighter security at the International Airports. Imo state was said to be targeted because of the high student population i.e., in Owerri.
Information available to me also shows that over 90% of drug pushers arrested at MMIA in Lagos State are of Ibo origin, with most coming from Anambra. Those on death-row abroad in especially Asian countries based on the bi-annual report from the National Intelligence Agency [NIA] which is Nigeria's equivalent of CIA, shows again than over 90% are Ibo who claim to be doing Import-Export as a cover.
Nigeria and Anambra most especially have to wake up to solve this problem and major stigma. I remember in 2009, a major newspaper reported that Ohaneze Ndigbo had a meeting to proffer solutions as to why young Ibos like this 38-year-old criminal that has just been arrested, constitute the majority of drug-pushers, and other crimes across Nigeria and abroad, but they STILL haven't found a solution as a socio-cultural body.
I think from reading the articles of intelligent Ibo Public Affairs analysts over the years in the Sun Newspaper and other publications, it all boils down to EXTREME GREED, and the pressure from the hometowns and cultural groups to acquire fast wealth by any means. you talk too much! FYI there is no different between your paracetamol, phensic or panadol and methamphetamine , only that the Big dealers like the American, British and nigerian goverments want people to believe that its illegal, so they the goverments can control and sale it themselves as medicines you can buy from your chemists, if you must know Achohol is a bigger killer of humans, why is it not illegal? Because it creates a huge amount of wealth for the goverments |

Politics › Re: National Identity Number Mandatory From September by otiigba1(m): 6:49pm On Jun 22, 2015 |
greggles: These people are really learning from us, I wrote about this in my frontpage article!
The process is slow and it seems the management is incompetent as compared with the implementation of the BVN, but it should be implemented by law so that we have a unique ID system in Nigeria.
With your National ID, you should qualify for certain incentives like loans, overdraft etc, it would be mandatorily needed by banks as soon as it is implemented, so that they will tie every person to their accounts nationwide. Banks will even stop asking for collateral for certain amounts of money because you can no longer run with their money and if you do, they already know where you went to because the system is also tied to your international passport, drivers license etc and once you leave the country, they know where you are and they will easily write to the host country that you're a fugitive
Also, once you're arrested by the police, the first thing they do is take your thumbprint and your details come up immediately, that offense is recorded and your crime history is easily available to law enforcement to track you and invite you for questioning when you are spotted within a location where a crime is committed, that's the system used abroad to draw up a list of suspects when a crime has no face on it
Also, before you rent a house, your landlord gives you a form and requests your Identity which he uses to run a background check with the authorities to know if you have outstanding criminal cases like child abuse (in case he has kids that could be vulnerable). Before you get a job, get admission into school, run for a political appointment, get a loan from the bank or lending company etc, a bankground check is done with your identity
It has been long overdue in a country like Nigeria having serious security issues and abuse of office and power issues. makes lot of sense, but what you are forgetting is that it will cost billions to implement |

And yes....you can get proguanil (paludrine) from the counter.Cheaper here in Nigeria...don't try buying it outside.! thanks again i ve been adviced by my doctor to get them vaccinated, but am not sure it would have a maximum effect as their medicines over here are usually mild, to be honest am very apprehensive over this malaria issue as this is the first time (only chance) am taking me child to nigeria as his mother refused me to take him on an earlier occasion because she was worried he may contact malaria |

obailala: Malaria can be extremely deadly for foreigners who don't have the immunity. Even though we Africans have the immunity in our bodies, malaria still remains one of the deadliest killers in Africa.
Furthermore, unlike in Africa where you can easily get a malaria drug from a chemist, malaria drugs are not readily available in climes where malaria isn't a problem. As you can read from the report, the lady was misdiagnosed severally before she was eventually diagnosed for malaria (when it was already too late). Absolutely! |

For Turkish....and any foreign people.
This could have been prevented by taking a daily dose of preventive meds while in Nigeria. please do you have any idea on what the preventive medicines are? |

allycat: Malaria is a deadly disease to people that do not have immunity. In children it is one of the top causes of death in the sub Saharan region because of their lack of immunity. The average adult Nigerian has been exposed and developed such immunity that's why it doesn't kill us so easily. Ask any Nigerian abroad who has been diagnosed with malaria especially in the UK and Europe, they are quarantined and treated as if they have a mild form of Ebola. Evenamongst pregnant adult Nigerian women malaria related deaths are not uncommon. very true, had an encounter meself, luckily i made it, am worried though because am planing to take me son 3 years old mixed raced to nigeria this xmas this news have now got me even more worried |

Miaraka: Fellow Africans, let's just celebrate our ancestors and be proud of ourselves because contrary to what we've been told by our colonisers and oppressors, our ancestors were the mothers of mathematics, civil engineering. astrology, etc. Bob Marley was right when he sang, "No matter where you come from, you're an African." We were very dark when we came to SA thousands of years ago but climate and intermarriage changed our complexion. That notwithstanding, complexion doeaasn't change the price of bread or translate to godliness. It's not the most important thing in the world or in bed. If you're interested in colour, just close your eyes and imagine how they would look like if they were black. The fact that a woman is light in complexion doesn't make her a better human being and more beautiful or pretty. What matters is her heart - whether or not she loves her family, is an African patriot and will do everything in her power to contribute to our African development and protect her dignity and the African people everywhere. The same goes for all of us. We must walk with our heads held high, knowing that mathematics and engineering was created by our ancestors. By the way, I'm going to check my DNA and will report back. I'm light in complexion with a flat African nose and banana lips. An Igbo man once saw me at the OR Tambo International Airport and said, "You look like our people." Maybe he saw my indigenous Yoruba lips or my Igbo complexion. I don't know but I said, "Ofcourse, I should look like your people. I'm African!" very nicely put, i applaud your intelligence highly, i am also a light skinned black guy perhaps i should check my DNA too |

14: When i say sothos, i dont refer to people from lesotho alone, you are exposing yourself, told you you know little about SA, so it would be better to keep shut and teach us about nigerian tribes. Tswana, Pedi and southern sothos all fall under Sotho tribe. There four tribes in SA, Nguni, Sotho, venda and tsonga. So Sotho tribe i m refering to, majority of them are light skin and they are not mixed. As i said, weather plays major role.
Compare batswana in botswana and tswanas in south africa, tswanas in SA are lighter compare to their counter parts in botswana, because botswana has a hot weather, and they still have large population of san people compare with SA. you may be right, because my ex SA girlfriend name katiwe she is light skin but she is not mixed raced or coloured as you guys call them |
