Sacollins123: Good evening Family, Please I've been following for some time and am super happy and excited about the success stories is am reading even in this new trend. Am currently in a very difficult corner, my study visa application was rejected early October last year for just one reason which I clearly understand but the thing now is that my agent is requesting for some submission fee which I don't have.
I know I can do the visa application myself but am scared and do not know Jack on how to got about it though I processed my admission myself as well as booking my biometrics appointment.
Lastly I want to state that for my study I have my in law sponsoring me with a good source of income and with a statement of account showing 10m+, I have paid $5,100 CAD deposit out of $11,240 CAD yearly tuition for a 3years diploma course which it my first post secondary study and am just 23.
Please any great and urgent insight will be of help please as all my documents are ready . You didnt state what exactly you need help with bro. Because to submit another application, you'll be paying another fee. Also work on the reason and concern the VO raised.. it will end in praise. |

Officialksolo: Good day to gurus on this loop, @lekkiboboe @olasubomy @otunbaTee @frankrobbn1
I would love to hear your opinion on my application process, I applied on the 1st of December 2020 (study visa) (No upfront medical) but during the process of applying I didn't upload any documents on optional documents. So same day a friend of mine says I should raise a webform which I did.
I used the webform to send my landed property, business registration document, statement of purpose and the institution school fees receipt... after three weeks IRCC sent me a mail that those documents has been received and it has been sent down to my visa processing center which is Nairobi Kenya and am expecting IRCC to update it on my account which they didn't do.
Ever since then I haven't received any feedback from them although my application just reached 2 months and 1 week plus
Please I need your opinion... Thanks. Good day, do not shake because the Lord is with thee...you're not seeing those documents on your account because you didn't submit via the account. Anything you send via webform, my brother/sister, be rest assured that they're seeing/receiving it, moreover they even sent an acknowledgement, so keep fingers crossed for it shall end in praise... They've received it and are working on it accordingly. Shalom! |

Since your husband is your sole sponsor and can proof the first year school fees and 10k living expenses. Cuddles7: Thankyou so much Sir @OtunbaTee.
The reason he isn't going for a master's is his 3rd class BSc degree.
Didn't think the Polytechnic made a difference as long as it was a post graduate course. And from the past threads, it's only a PGC course in business that 3rd class degree holders can get.
Please let me know if there are other better choices. Would it be better to find a college with same course? As I noticed that Universities hardly do PGCs/PGDs. Post graduate degree should work in his case instead of saskpoly..also it should be explained in his LOE why he's going for PGD |

MrsYO: Please guys @OtunbaTee @Frankrobbn1 @Lekkiboboe @Olasubomy @Justmellow and other gurus.
I need clarity on these informations;
1) I lost my job last year september due to Covid 19. Pls how do I explain this in my SOP even though I have sufficient POF? Should i still submit documents such as Letter of Employement,Promotion Letters Old payslips?
2) My husband was denied SINP last year, should i state it in my application or just be quiet about it since i wasnt the primary applicant? Good day maam. In your SOP, you're writing positively about yourself and why you want the VO to approve your application. You can diplomatically state that you stopped working in September due to the effect of the pandemic in your place of work, and you're applying to study a course in Canada that pertains to your work experience...its better than saying you were terminated. Shift the reason for the redundancy to your work place and covid 19 n not on yourself. 2. You do not need to mention your husband's refusal in your own application, since all applications are treated individually. You can only use him as home tie if you're going alone. And only talk about your own application and your intention of studying in Canada.. Other gurus can also add theirs... It will end in praise.. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by OtunbaTee(m): 10:49am On Feb 03, 2021 |
Referencing the attached note. What the VO simply meant was, how can someone with BSc go for a programme in a polytechnic. That's a negative factor in the first instance. He might not even check the attached documents to read the LOE, if he did he would have noted that he plans to assume a position inline with the course of study. 1. I think to apply, the first thing to consider is a BSc holder should go for MSc ( their view) 2. Having HND should go for PGD( their view also) So if they see an application of someone with Bsc going for a lower degree course, it usually raises an eyebrow as to intention of the applicant. He'll just conclude without checking letter of intent. That's to the best of my knowledge, other gurus can add too.. Cuddles7: LONG POST ALERT (suggestions needed)
Goodmorning everyone...
Please guys @OtunbaTee @Frankrobbn1 @Lekkiboboe @Olasubomy @Justmellow and other gurus.
Please can you guys advice us. Your inputs will be well appreciated.
Thanks to all who have made comments on this already. Godbless you
I'm relatively new here but I've read from part 17 upto this point but I'm still confused about how to handle this.
My spouse(husband) was refused a second time. Below is his timeline. Please feel free to ask me for anymore details I might have missed.
We are using an IRCC registered immigration consultant located in Saskatchewan.
We had already started with her before we found nairaland. Would have done this on our own if we had this much info.
SPOUSE'S TIMELINE
Age: 43 currently(applied for the first time at 42... 43rd birthday was this January)
Bsc: Microbiology
15 years study gap
Work history: Worked as the Lab microbiologist for 3yrs or thereabouts (2008-2011)
Started as Administrative Manager From 2012 (family run hospital and morgue business) owned by his Dad ( a general surgeon trained in Germany).
Going for : BUSINESS MANAGEMENT POST GRAD CERTIFICATE (Saskatchewan Polytechnic...paid school fees in Full).. $17,100 (right from first application and school fees receipt was attached). Chose PGC course of his past result and the easiest admission to get was in management which seemed to fit into his current need. And the Bus mgt course in saskpoly is specifically designed for those with no prior formal training/degree in business.
He applied alone (leaving myself and my son back home as home tie)
1st refusal: purpose of visit
2nd refusal: personal assets and financial status (yet to see the letter to know if there were other reasons)
He applied for the first time on June 15, 2020. was refused in September.
He applied for his GCMS notes (see attached below). Tried to tackle the VO's complaint by making a detailed study plan written by him and a letter of explanation from the immigration consultant (which we proof read and agreed was fine). Explained that a higher managerial position (director of operations) was curated in the company and he was offered that position but to fully qualify, he needed a formal training in business to fill in the role properly.
He reapplied on November 26.
2nd Application was refused on 29 January based on personal assets and financial status (not sure that was the only complaint since we haven't seen the letter. She called to tell us. Will send us the details later she said)
Next line of action: 1) Immigration consultant apply for reconsideration (if we are lucky, the application will be reopened )
2) Apply for GCMS note (same time with the consideration so they can run side by side to save time)...done already.
3) May consider a judicial review or reapplication depending on what the GCMS notes say but as very last resort cos this is way too expensive
Documents submitted:
SOP(study plan by spouse) LOE (by the IRCC immigration consultant) Resume Transcripts and degree certificate IELTS result (Band 9) Letter of acceptance from school Fees receipt (fully paid) Mybankstatement certificate(showing funds of about 31,000 CAD) Reference letter from bank (to confirm account owner) Memorandum of association (showing he is a major share holder) and CAC of hospital Job offer letter ( for new role as director of operations) Study leave approval letter(one year study leave) Marriage certificate Son's birth certificate Police clearance certificate Stamped Passport pages (to show travel history to US and China) All required forms for study permit as well as signed representative forms (since we are using an IRCC agent) Wife's payslip (to show she can fend for herself and son while spouse is on study) Etc.
So sorry for the longpost. |

Celoexpress: Thank you so much Mr Frank, never too late to hear from you.
Please I also have a few challenges that I will appreciate your advise and that of our gurus on this platform (Mr Frank, Lekiboboe, OtunbaTee, JustMellow, etc.)
I have deferred till May 2021 but I am yet to notify IRCC because I do not have the new LOA from the school yet.
Also, how often can I keep sending webforms please as my application is way over processing time and I have sent webforms and mails once every week for the past 3 weeks without acknowledgment or update from the embassy asides my GCMS notes.
Lastly, my passport expires January 2022, I have 2 schools in mind, my current school which I deferred ends in March 202. This means the study permit to be issued is longer than the validity of my passport. Do you advise I renew now since it is still a year away before expiry or wait till close to end of this year to renew which by then, I would be in Canada as I plan to leave in April.
Please guys, I would appreciate your advise and responses on this. Thanks to you for your consistent help. To the best of my knowledge 1. If the date you deferred to is not up to 150 days, you dont need to inform ircc about your new LOA. 2. You can renew your passport 6 months to expiration, which should be around June July this year. Also when u get a new passport you'll now put in for study permit extension. Which they will also approve and you'll get the new passport stamped. Others can contribute too.. Stay safe chief! |

awys: The MYSTERY behind this CANADIAN STUDY PERMIT is yet to be unravelled and it's rather baffling when people said they have more than the 30k CAD in the statement well explained and even a financial table was drawn out but yet they still got DELAYED based on FINANCIAL STATUS I find it disturbing when people come to explain what they did and we'll explained yet it was delayed I was so surprised and still thinking from that yesterday that it's only the VO'S that understands what they want .It's like the more you present a well detailed Application the more they frown at it cuz am yet to unravel what they really really want like OTUNBA TEE said there is no perfect Application and also as FRATERMATHY said it's still the same way the VO'S make mistakes refusing QUALIFIED APPLICANT'S It's really really disturbing seriously So sorry for the delays please get the GCMS NOTES let's really see their concern on this Financial status and personal Assets gan gan. Maybe the more they see the money outregeously high they believe it's too good to be true cuz seeing people with 70k CAD and above is outregeously high for them and starts to suspect the source that's what I feel though!!! Forgetting that people have companies which has been in existence for years and also people have a very high paying jobs in which they could save up. In fact since morning I'm still wondering too..someone paid full tuition and still had 30k cnd to show as proof..nawa o...mesef I'm just thinking about mine, no personal asset or finance sef..like I didnt submit any SOA ..so I'm just wondering what they really want.. fratermathy: If you've received the PPR, I strongly advise that you travel to Canada ASAP. Further travel restrictions may be underway. No one knows for sure if they would affect students but currently, all flights to and fro Mexico and the Caribbean would be stopped until April 2021. This would definitely affect students in those countries who need to travel. The list of countries can increase at any time too.
Apart from country-specific bans, they are trying to force all travellers to start their quarantine in a government designated hotel (which would be very expensive). This is only a hint of greater restrictions to come. The Quebec government is putting pressure on the Canadian government to even extend these restrictions and make them tougher. Again, I don't know the extent to which students will be affected or even if they would be affected at all, but if you have your PPR and for some reason you're delaying your travel, you should reconsider.
If you're Montreal bound, I'm happy to help you settle down to the best of my ability and as far as time allows. I won't be able to give you money, but I can provide you information, accommodation options, minor assistance (I can even drive), and a friendly walk/drive around the city to show you around if you want. I enjoyed these things from others when I arrived, and I'm glad to return the favour. But one can't enter till one before resumption max Abi? |

Akby: Hello house,
I have a peculiar challenge, and I need all the help I can get. So my sister did her medicals last year October and we didn't get any response from VFS/IRCC. We sent an email to Abuja office early this year that school is resuming the following week, and they told us to send her passport directly to Immigration Office, Abuja via courier service
We got a notification that her passport was ready for collection with the stamped Visa on Monday - January 25th and picking up has been a challenge.
We paid for a two-way courier service when the passport was sent but the Immigration Office is not releasing her passport to DHL.
What can I do please?
Thanks guys 1.did they tell you why they're refusing to release it? 2. Did DHL input the empty dhl nylon inside the parcel you sent, if yes, you should ask them why they're refusing via email! |

TeeMade: As hard as it is to type, this was thesame refusal letter I received yesterday too and mine even has family ties in Canada and in my home country. Ordering my gcms note already. One question though, what are your thoughts on notes from CBSA
My SOP was detailed, well I'll leave that to the gurus to scrutinize now
Purpose: Studied Philosophy, I have always worked in the business field with experience in sales and marketing, customer care and been working in the role of a Business Development Manager for the past 6years. This role is titled as Account Manager or Key Account Manager in the Telco industry. The course I applied for is a 1year MBA with a specialization in Professional Sales and Business Development. I ensured to describe my job role clearly cos in the 1st refusal, the VO commented on the gcms note that I am an accountant Manager going to study MBA. He got my job role wrong but even at that, can't an accountant study MBA
Personal Assets & Financial Status: I submitted POF of over a 100k CAD which includes local and foreign stocks, other investments and savings too from individual and joint accounts. My hubby is my sponsor and he wrote a letter to that effect and included letter from his employer, pay stubs, SOA etc. For NSE I submitted over 30k CAD using MBS.
Qualifications & Co.: I submitted my degree certificate, NYSC certificate, all employment history from graduation to date including letters of promotion and salary increase, business card, staff ID and all. I stated details about how the Biz Development role is in high demand in Nigeria, plus my international degree and experience I'll be highly sought after. I stated career available career opportunities upon my return, career progression by stating the job role/cadre I'll be able to work in upon my return to Nigeria and my aspired roles up to C-level roles including the salary range for each of the roles and how my Int'l degree will rightly position me for these opportunities all the way to the top of my career ladder which is my goal. I also submitted IELTS result.
I added how my achievements are intended to make positive impact in my country.
Family ties in Canada and back home: I have no relatives in Canada but all my family members are here including my husband and daughter and none of them is to accompany me to Canada. I included birth certificates, wedding pictures, affidavit of change of name, newspaper change of name, M-certificate, pictures of my nuclear family, pictures at work & all. Just added a few pictures cos of document size.
Other documents submitted are travel history for spouse and I, police certificate, affidavit of facts (which states that all information and documents provided in my application are true and accurate and that I'll depart Canada after my studies & not remain there unlawfully), LOE to address the initial refusal which was only based on purpose of visit and I emphasized my reasons for coming back home here. My daughter's American birth certificate and zero balance letter were included too cos In had to show proof that she's truly my daughter.
I honestly don't know what else I should have said or added but one thing I do know is that the VO commented on the first gcms note about the fact that my US visa renewal was refused after I had a baby there on tourist visa. So I tackled this by showing my email correspondence with the US embassy about my change of intention from tourist (of which i already visited and returned) to a medical visit to have my baby there. I did all they instructed in their mail and I was lawfully admitted into the US for the purpose of having my baby so I didn't do anything illegal or acted without integrity. This was clear.
I cannot help but feel like they just have a preconceived notion that having a baby is most likely my reason for coming to Canada but using study route. Meanwhile, I truly want to study oh which was why I stated all other schools I considered in Canada before choosing UNB and stated my reasons for that. I even included that I had secured admission in 2 schools in UK but I chose Canada becuase of the specialization of the course which is directly related to my career path. It was all just to show that studying was super key and I did my research before choosing a course, a school and a country. I await my gcms note though before knowing my next line of action. I honestly feel like I should just appeal but fingers crossed for now.
To all the gurus in the house @Frankrobbn1 @JustMellow @Chocs and all others, your review and analysis are greatly required. Make una advise biko.
@awys, your funny comments maybe consoling at this time @deomanuel, keep those scriptures coming make I add to the ones wey I don sabi @OtunbaTee, keep the prophetic declarations flowing abeg @Silvamania, thanks for all the encouragement. Not giving up, just standing by for now till my notes arrive.
It will end in praise for us all... After reading this. I sighed a little and concluded that, there's no perfect application. Cos to be honest with you, my course: computer science n I graduated 2011, and I'm now going for global management course with a 2.2 , now tell me theres no God. All I believe is what God cant do doesn't exist. Whenever u want to apply again..just hand it over to God and remind Him of His promises. What He cant do doesn't exist.. It will surely end in praise.. |

DefyTheOdds: **Long post
Application timeline / Landing story
Application timeline May 28th - Upfront medical Jul 7th - submitted application Jul 8th - Biometrics Aug 6th - AIP Sep 1st - started classes online Oct 21st - BVL Oct 22nd - PPR Nov 2nd - submitted passport through dhl to lagos vfs Nov 18th - counterfoil Dec 10th - got passport back
Landing Story So I booked my flight for the 18th of January with Ethiopian Airline
I had my covid test with synalb on the 15th of January (72 hrs before my flight), got the result the next day at night
Nigerian Airport
I got to the airport 4 hours before my flight and I joined the queue to check in, they asked for my passport, ticket, enrollment verification letter, covid test and a photocopy of my passport data page(I had to print this at the airport because I didn't have it). It took them almost 30 minutes to confirm my enrollment verification because for some reason, the person at the counter wasn't convinced. After document verification, my passport was scanned then i proceeded to the counter where they weighed my bags (24kg and 25kg but they let me go). They didn't open my bag at any point or ask me what I was carrying.
After checkin, they gave me 3 boarding passes for all my connecting flights. I moved on to board. There were two or three other security checks (my passport was stamped at one of these points). I passed through all the checks and then waited to board my flight. My first flight was from Lagos to Ethiopia
Ethiopian Airport After landing at ethiopia, I went though the usual security checks, just showing my boarding pass and my passport. However, at the final check, I was stopped. They told me that my covid test had expired so I couldn't move on. I explained to them that on Canada's website, what was stated is that the test should be within 72 hours of boarding my first flight, which it was. They told me to stand aside while they confirm. After about 15 to 20 minutes, they came back and told me that I was good to go.
Toronto Airport I went through immigration. At the first step, they asked for my covid test, arrivecan and declaration card (they'll give you this on the plane. They also gave me a covid form on the plane, but no one asked me for this. At the second point, I was asked if I was here to study, I said yes and they asked me for all my documents (they didn't specify which ones). I gave them my letter of introduction, proof of enrollment, admission letter, tuition receipt. I had proof of funds but I didn't show it and I wasn't asked for it. I waited a few minutes and my study permit was issued.
I then went to baggage claim, picked up my two boxes and then went to board my next flight. On the way, I dropped my two boxes at the checkin for my next flight to edmonton.
The airports are big so please wear comfortable shoes

When I heard this stuff I thought it was a joke..but I decided to act on it. I stopped and deleted all negative comments on my social media, I even changed my name in some ,since someone told me it's part of the background check they do. But today i confirmed it and I am really shocked... pls see this reason for refusal below...

Celoexpress: Guys based on the new time for processing (15 weeks), my application would be 15 weeks on Monday. What do you advise I start to send to IRCC and from when should I start cause I have started classes already and I need to ravel. The time difference is killing. Also, my account says eligibility under review and background check is on but no date on when it started but I noticed i started seeing eligibility under review since 1st week in december 2020.
Awys, Otunbatee, frankrobbin and other gurus, Please I need your advise. Send emails and raise webform that you've started your course online already and you need update on your application..that they should kindly expedite action...warm regards. It shall end in praise chief... |
