Like someone here said if you can't afford S23 Ultra just go with S21 ultra and save money. I wouldn't consider s22 ultra (I'd rather buy S23 plus which is just slightly more expensive)

All these nairaland trolls...how much is 1.5m that someone can't afford to treat himself...poverty has eaten deep into the mind of Nigerians honestly. I had an S21 ultra I got for 900k back in 2022 b4 it broke...oga pray for grace and stop hating okay..1.5m is nothing...the functionality is the same with an A33 just that the S23 is classier and has more advanced camera....see pics of the S pen below to clear ur doubt..I took the pics with my A33
Bro stop lying you don't have a s23 Ultra. How will you compare such phone with A33 lmaooo. And there was no point in time that s21 ultra cost upto 900k , especially in 2022 when it was a year old. Dollar wasn't bad as it is now. Stop capping abeg, it's embarrassing.

I don't think you'd see it in Nigeria, i.e in physical stores(I could be wrong though), I think phone options in Nigeria are somehow limited; I got my prices from AliExpress though
Yeah I couldn't find it anywhere too, just AliExpress. Is it safe to buy such an expensive phone from Ali?

Sorry, my bad; I tend to mix them together grin, vivo and oppo have same parent company though; that aside, I searched, and it seems the flagship of Oppo i.e the find x6 pro can be gotten for cheaper than the s23 ultra
I'm curious where can someone find oppo find x6 pro in Nigeria? I really like the look of the phone

I have handled both phones and I know what I'm talking about. I didn't say you take a picture with zoom; I clearly mentioned to take the pictures on each phone's main lens (1x).

Samsung phones often have this smoothening and watercolor effect and lose details when you zoom-in on a picture you thought was sharp and nice; iPhone does better at retaining details in pictures when you zoom them in.

Lol It's funny how some people lie and say they've used both phones just to make their opinion sound valid. I haven't used 13pm but i know damn s22 ultra is very good at retaining detail when zoomed in (I'm referring to 1x cam) because I've tested it .

if you check Dxo's review of S22 ultra, you'll see where s22's ability to retain texture for the main lens is compared to iphone 13 pro max and s22 ultra (snapdragon) is better at retaining detail.

Yes Samsung had this smoothening and watercolor effect which was Because of their agressive noise reduction and then over sharpening to compensate for Lost detail. I used to see it on my s21U but after months of updates it was clearly fixed and I can confidently say it's not on S22u even though I don't have the phone.

Samsung's shitty image processing is a thing of the past. Most comparisons I've seen show that S22u is better overall for photos, while iphone wins for video

I respect your decision of picking the Samsung S22 Ultra over the iPhone 13 Pro Max; however, the 13 Pro Max isn't overrated.

iPhone 13 Pro Max, although being Apple's last year flagship device, packs a stronger processor than the Samsung S22 Ultra; let's not even try comparing battery lives of both phones.

Also, there's better speaker quality, better build on the iPhone and face unlock, for me, is way more convenient than using a fingerprint scanner.

If you own more than one Apple device, you enjoy Apple's unmatched ecosystem.

Finally, the iPhone 13 Pro Max video recording beasts the S22 ultra any day.

See it's not overhyped? But I guess everyone has what works best for them.
The only things i can agree with you here is battery life. Yes no phone touches 13pm when it comes to battery.

Yeah, iphone always have a stronger processor but that argument is mostly moot to me since iOS doesn't take advantage of all that power. It's only benefit is future proofing. your phone will still be decently fast 5years from now .

And Yes iphone has always been the best at video recording, but from what I've seen between 13 pro and s22 , the iphone only wins low light video recording

You have a point sir... I just saw Mr whose the boss review of the Xaiomi 12 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra and he tilted to recommending the Xaiomi 12 Ultra thanks to Xaiomi's marketing strategy..
I'm a fan of Xaiomi but I haven't been impressed with there camera quality and operating system recently. They are not putting much effort unlike 4 years back and below when you get quality all round.. there note 6 blew my mind the camera was a wow that year.
I still plan on getting the mi 11 ultra in the nearest future.. I'm in love with that phone..
Xiaomi makes great phones honestly, their mid range phones especially are than better Samsung's and others. For flagship I'd still pick Samsung tho

You can't go wrong with mi 11 Ultra.. was one of the best phones from last year. I hope you find it at a good price cos the phone is scarce in this country

I thought you were reasonable when you asked the previous question; but you're just another IQ 6 borderline dimwit wanting to sound intelligent.

Your brain being analog may not comprehend the knowledge I'm about to pass across, but I'll try my best to help you.

So, Mr. IGNORANCE, a little research will reveal to you that Apple's A15 Bionic chipset is still the most powerful processor in any mobile phone right now. It's more powerful than the processors used in the phones you mentioned.

Secondly, I've used high-end Android devices, like the Samsung S21, S20+, Galaxy Note 10, etc.; I bought these phones immediately they launched and I have fiddled with rooting while you were still wearing diapers.

That a phone packs 20GB Ram does not mean it will be snappier than the iPhone; Have you never asked yourself why your phone with 8GB ram will tell you that you're using 4GB/8GB even when no app is opened?

Apple produces their Software and Hardware, so they know how best to optimise their software to work amazingly with their hardware. Doing this, they made dumping plenty ram into a phone irrelevant. An iPhone with 2GB ram will kick an Android device (from the same year) with 6GB ram out of the water.

So you want me to go spend €1000 on a Honor device that will lose 70% its launch value in 2 years because it's now slower? Haven't you wondered why iPhones launched since 2017 (the iPhone 8 and X) still sell above 100k and 150k respectively?

I bought the Huawei P20 Pro in 2018 when it launched at 370k. Right now, you'll get its UK used for 65k. A few months back, I bought it for my sister and it lagged like hell; this is a 6GB ram phone that used to be snappy. iPhone 8 plus and X are still very fast currently.

I'm not a newbie when it comes to mobile phones; I've been an advanced user even when we only had java and S60v3 phones around - you may want to Google the Darkman certificate.

I say this to reiterate the fact that my choice of going with iPhone 13 Pro Max, which shouldn't bring you this much headache, is because of how optimised, value-for-money and durable it is.

Let's not even talk about the Apple Ecosystem; your new brain might find that too hard to process. I really hope you take the nylon off of your brain and let yourself learn this wisdom I have shared with you.

My prayers are with you.
Lmao he said an iPhone with 2GB ram will kick an Android device with 6GB ram out of the water. I can never take you seriously anymore, please stop capping.

I used an iphone 12 briefly last year which has 4gb of ram after my S10+(which has 8gb). Sure the iphone was faster which was down to the More powerful chipset but it had trouble keeping apps in memory especially after using the camera.

Apps reloaded very often if I opened more than 5 apps. which was something I never experienced on my S10+ or even s9+(6gb) which i had too.

You people should stop exaggerating how frugal iOS is with ram. iOS has gotten heavier in recent years .

Here is a reddit post with some comments that mirror my experience https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/v3c04o/iphone_14_lineup_expected_to_start_with_increased/

No different from Transsion fans that hate GSMArena when it does review in their favour. Funnily enough XDA, GSMArena and even Kimovil will reference DXOMARK from time to time.

In fact guess who GSMArena camera tests are modelled after.

Believe what you want, it's your right.
This isn't even hate, and of course websites will make references of them. They are reputable source(used to be) for real camera reviews.. I'm just telling you that Chinese companies use DXOscores for marketing purposes and it's very obvious they get paid to say nice things

It's funny how Every time a new Xiaomi or Huawei flagship is unveiled Dxo publishes their review and score of that phone on that very day. While Samsung or iPhone reviews are only published after 2 or 3 weeks

Xiaomi 12 ultra will be announced today and i can assure you that dxo will publish a review of it with the highest score ever lmao and Xiaomi will use it as one of their promo materials

Apple and Samsung fanboys like you are the only ones that cry when benchmarks don't favour them.

DXOMARK are a French company and not some blogger. Their processes are very transparent for all to see.
Lol this is the same company that gave S21 ultra a lower score than s20 ultra even though the former was a Big improvement . All because they didn't get money from Samsung . I'll never take them seriously again like most people don't. Also benchmark scores too

Overlord999:

Lmao DXO You people actually take dxo seriously in 2022? I think pretty much every phone enthusiast except people on this thread knows that dxo gives the highest scores to company that pays them (which are mostly those Chinese phone manufacturers). Samsung, Apple and google don't even care about dxo and hence you won't see them bragging about their DXO scores like Xiaomi and Huawei does. Their tests are objective and fun to read, but their scoring system is terrible and you shouldn't take it seriously. I remember Last year Xiaomi 11 Ultra got the highest score but if you check YouTube comparisons it actually lost out to S21 ultra and iphone 12 pro max, check Danny Winget's video (he's one of Best at camera comparisons). Also check anandtech (website), they did a mega comparison with alot of phones and Xiaomi 11 Ultra didn't come out on top even though it's dxo score suggests it was the best camera at the time of release.
i saw this earlier today and reminded me of Chinese phone companies are obsessed with DXO scores like you people are https://twitter.com/sondesix/status/1543585762137890821?t=z4XJwRGxdGspw46vatU3ng&s=19
